JANUARY 2024 PROPHETIC WORD

Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
Matthew 17:21 [KJV]

A very great Happy New Year to you beloved! Like play we are in a new year 2024. We are very grateful to Yahweh for His mercies that saw us through from January 2023 to this very Day January 1, 2024. To You Lord alone be all the glory in Yahushua ’ Name Amen! We trust Yahweh that December 2023 was explosive for you here with #WordForTodayDevotional where Yahweh took us through the mystery of divine direction. We explored dimensions in divine direction, from seeing the value of instruction, to checking if we are on the pedestal where we could be led, to finding exactly how Yahweh leads, to understanding how to access His voice, to a great insight on how to develop our human spirit to recognize the leading of Yahweh, to exploring the profits of being led by Yahweh. We sincerely believe Yahweh that you would never miss your step with Yahweh again in life. As you apply what you have learnt and become diligent in developing your spirit, you will grow to instantly recognize the leading of your heavenly Father even in the very minutest detail of life.

The beginning of a thing is very crucial to having a great ending of the same. If 2024 is going to be great for you, then you must be mindful of these days of the beginning of the year. Glory to Yahweh, we serve a Father that knows the end from the beginning, so if we are diligent in following Him, we can be sure that both the beginning through to the ending will be just as wonderful as the person taking us on the ride – our heavenly Father. In December 2023, we saw the importance of divine direction. So this January, we are going to the altar of prayer to know how the Lord would have us go this year 2024. Every child of Yahweh prays but James 5:16 (AMPC) tells us that it is only the earnest, heart-felt and continued prayer of a righteous man that makes tremendous power available which is dynamic in its working. 2024 has been declared as our year of “TRIUMPH.” As a believer your destiny is to triumph always. But how do I make this a reality in my situation. I have been praying and it seems nothing is happening. Remember that in James 5:16, the example we were given was that of earnest prayer and it came from Elijah. It means that if your prayer can be earnest enough, it would make tremendous power available giving you the necessary change of story that you desire. So, how do I come to this dimension of earnestness? It is through fasting. This is not just a short fast like 24 hours to three days. No, we are talking about long fast of 10 days to 40 days.

Our prophetic focus for the Month of January 2024 therefore, is ‘AS I WAIT ON THE LORD I AM STRENGTHEN TO LIVE IN TRIUMPH.’ (Isaiah 40:31). Lamentations 3:27 says, “It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.” It is important that we bear the yoke of fasting this January so we can take delivery of what the Lord has already prepared for us in Yahushua this 2024. No matter the kind of situation, you are confronted with right now, it must bow according to the scriptures that cannot be broken to the power in prayer and fasting. Fasting develops and releases the required spiritual earnestness to birth any turnaround you long for. This month is the month of our fasting and we are going to look at the intricacies of fasting. Determine in yourself that enough is enough for that issue in your life and apply for the earnestness that releases the tremendous power that is dynamic in its working. This is your year to experience the glory of living in Yahushua. Fasting is the missing link that probably you are yet to apply to break that stubborn issue in your life. It is time to push the plates aside and see the glory of the resurrected Yahushua who is your life manifested in practical terms. Shalom!

THANKSGIVING: Dear Father, thank you for the privilege of life, of seeing a brand new year of 2024 and the beginning month. Thank You for sending Yahushua HaMashiach to pay the prize for my sins and for the privilege of your presence in my life by the Holy Spirit. Thank You for all you did for us in the month of December. Thank You for providing me an avenue to deal with all kinds of life challenges by prayer and fasting. Thank You for the strength to wait upon you this month like never before in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!

PROPHETIC RELEASE: I decree that this month of January shall not see your end but you shall see its end. Your eyes have seen January 2024, if Yahushua tarries, your eyes shall also see January 2025. I decree no evil news shall be heard in your life, family and job/business. This month, the heavens open over you and your family for a turnaround your world cannot deny. This month, every agenda of evil against you is shattered now. You shall only walk in success, increase, favour, supernatural possibilities and triumphs on every side you turn. No man shall be able to stand against you and your progress all the days of this month. Testimonies shall be your daily bread this month and celebration unending shall be in your house. Receive strength to wait in fasting this month in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen.

THANKFUL FOR JANUARY 2023

Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
Colossians 4:2 [KJV]

Thanksgiving is a universal application if there is going to be a response from Yahweh. In the first place, you cannot enter into Yahweh’s presence without thanksgiving. Psalms 100:4 says, ‘Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.’ No matter the urgency of your case, you cannot secure attention until you come into Yahweh’s presence and you cannot be admitted into that hollowed court without coming with an overflow of thanksgiving. This is the protocol of the Kingdom and our King Father. Learn to overflow with thanksgiving, it turns your heavenly Father on at your presence. And listen, until you thank Yahweh for the last, you do not qualify for the next. Until you thank Adonai for the seen, you cannot receive the coming or expected. Thanksgiving is one of the prayer protocols and living protocol in this kingdom. You must learn and perfect that act and make it your lifestyle.

Thanksgiving is acknowledging that it is not your fasting that brought you results that you are seeing. Thanksgiving is saying to Yahweh that you are nothing but a beneficiary of His love and mercy and that not for anything that you have done, not even for fasting. You must understand that fasting is not what you are doing for Yahweh, no, a thousand times no! In all these processes of gaining weight spiritually, what you do that profits Yahweh is your thanksgiving and praise, all others benefit you. So if you do all and you starve Yahweh of thanksgiving and praise, then you shall be seen as wicked and selfish. The fasting you are doing is for your benefit, the prayer you are doing is for your benefit, the only one that will benefit the Lord which is your thanksgiving and praise, you refuse to give Him, who are you then? If there is anything that will make your fasting fruitless is a fasting that is devoid of plenty thanksgiving and praise to Yahweh. If you are stingy with your thanksgiving and praise, you shall surely reap what you sow. The heavens will also show you the definition of stinginess.

Do you know that if you just list out your fasting expectations and all you say during your prayers is just THANK YOU LORD FOR YOUR FAITHFULNESS all through your fasting. Before the days of your fasting are ended, everything in your list would have turned to testimonies. There is power in thanksgiving and praise. Remember, that we are not heard by plenty speech, so let your prayer be much of praise and thanksgiving during your fast and you shall see speedy answers.

REMEMBER: Thanksgiving and praise facilitates speedy divine intervention and results.

THANKSGIVING: Dear Father, we are not worthy of the least of Your mercies. What shall we say for bringing us into this great year and like play you have already taken us through the first month, no loss, no tears, we saw goodness and mercies, abundance of blessings in front and at the back. Thank You for the salvation of my soul. Thank You for the continuous flow of Your Word on this platform. Thank You for Your preservation, provision and supplies. Thank You for abundance of Your Word on fasting and prayer this month. To You alone be all the glory in the Name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!

PROPHETIC RELEASE: Having returned with thanksgiving today, I declare that everything with your name on it still hanging be released now. There shall be no carry-over of January releases in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!

ACCEPTABLE FAST (6): EXTEND MERCY TO YOUR RELATIONS

Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?Isaiah 58:7 (KJV)

Fasting exposes one to see the vanity of this world and its possessions. It is easy to drift into a life of selfishness where nobody but you and yourself matters. You find that most times people are good to all but their own relations. They give to outsiders but when they get home, it is a different ball game. No wonder, Elohim is emphasizing that you are not to hide yourself from your own flesh. When you see needs in your family, don’t hide and pretend as though you are not seeing it. I Timothy 5:8 says, ‘But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.’ This is a very serious issue. Don’t turn your back on your own flesh and blood. Show mercy to your relations and ensure that they are not crying out to God for needs that you can meet. Know that Adonai placed you in their lives for you to be His extension to reaching them. That starts with ensuring that they have heard the gospel enough to make a decision whether to accept or reject the offer of salvation that Yahushua brought. So ensure that their spiritual needs are met. This is your first obligation as a believer. Acts 16:31 (NET) says, ‘They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.”’ If you are saved, the next obligation for you is to ensure that your household comes to the saving knowledge of the Lord Yahushua.

Secondly, Adonai placed you into their lives to ensure that their physical needs are met according to your grace and capacity per time. So, please don’t hide yourself from your flesh and blood. This starts with your relations and family and extends to the larger body of Yahushua. You are the answer to the prayers of your people and whenever what is needed is within your means then don’t allow such to still remain a prayer request. Do you now see that Adonai is very mindful of the welfare of humanity. You can see that all that makes fasting acceptable before Him all concern the welfare of humanity. See what Mark 11:25 says, ‘And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.’ That is your fasting will be a waste of time and exercise in futility if you are not in good terms in your relationships. You must live a life of forgiveness. All these are requirements for acceptable fasting.

It is pertinent to conclude this day with this charge: “17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy? 18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate? 19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.” (I Timothy 6:17-19).

REMEMBER: Adonai expects you to be His hands to your family and relations.

PRAYER: Dear Father, thank you for your word to me today. I ask for the grace to always be there for my flesh and blood according to the capacity you have given me per time in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!

PROPHETIC RELEASE: As this month ends tomorrow, I decree that there shall be no carry-over of January’s blessings to February. I decree that within 48 hours that you enter practically into all that the Lord has released for you this month. As the month begins to close, I decree that your fasting life will explode to new dimensions leading to the harvest of increase, abundance, advantage of the Holy Spirit, favour and glory from now in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!

ACCEPTABLE FAST (5): OUTREACH TO THE POOR

Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; Isaiah 58:7 (KJV)

This is one major difference between scriptural fast and religious fast. When it is just religious, it lacks human compassion but Adonai expects us to remember the poor and downtrodden when we fast. This is because the heart of Elohim is constantly yearning to address the inequality that the wickedness of both humans and the devil created to foster poverty on people and you are His extension to reaching these poor ones. For your fast to be acceptable, it has to incorporate the welfare of the poor. Adonai never created anyone poor. People become poor because of poor choices and the wickedness of other humans and the devil. Most people are poor because of circumstances that is totally out of their control and their situation displeases Elohim. Your prayers are fast-tracked if you can open up your bowels to reach out to the poor. Notice these aspects that the Word lists: feeding the poor, providing shelter and clothing. No matter how small it is, plan to provide food to the poor. In your own level, try to see how you can support struggling families to pay for their accommodation. Instead of burning your used cloths, try dry-cleaning them and package for people you consider yourself better than and these people are not hard to find in your present locality.

Psalms 41:1-3 is one of the moving scriptures about outreach to the poor and its attendant benefits to you. “1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. 2 The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. 3 The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.” Your deliverance in time of trouble is tied to your attitude towards the poor. Your preservation and safety is a function of your outreach to the poor. You enjoy blessing upon the earth that labour can never procure to you just for considering the poor. Adonai ensures that your enemies are helpless before you. They will watch you prosper but can’t do you anything. You enjoy supernatural order of strength in your body and your health is preserved. Even if your health is attacked, you are recovered by Adonai Himself. The poor is truly our opportunity to procure favour with Adonai and it is most important during fasting to take advantage of this channel of blessing to make your fast acceptable.

Whatever you do to the poor ensures that you and your generations will never be in that poor position. When you reach out to the poor, you terminate any such agenda of Satan from coming near you and your generations. Go ahead and remember the poor today.

REMEMBER: Your outreach to the poor makes your voice to be heard on high.

CONFESSION: I am born at such a time as this to be the hand of Elohim to reach out to the poor. It is with great delight that I flow with resources to the poor. Glory be Yahweh!

PROPHETIC RELEASE: I decree the compassion of Yahushua overwhelms you now towards the poor in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!

ACCEPTABLE FAST (4): DESTROY EVERY YOKE

Is not this the fast that I have chosen? and that ye break every yoke?Isaiah 58.6 [KJV]

One of the things we connect to at the place of fasting is the anointing and the anointing is for breaking every yoke. Isaiah 10:27 says, ‘And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.’ John 12:24 says ‘Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.’ In fasting, the flesh dies. That is why you must schedule a major fast this season. All these 6-6 wont help you much. Even three days dry is not enough. We are talking about 21 days to 40 days fast. This is the fast that mortifies the flesh and brings you into the anointing of the Holy Spirit. You need this anointing to break every yoke in your life and in the lives of the people in your world. You need this anointing to reign and rule in your business/career. Believers are lazy to go up and take their inheritance. No wonder, occultists are in power in many realms because they are ready to pay the price that the devil asks them to pay and most times it would even be fasting for days just to acquire power to dominate in their field. And you a believer is eating your destiny away day in day out.

You need the anointing to stop the devil in his tracks. Yahushua told his disciples, ‘And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.’ (Luke 24:49). But tarry. Beloved, there is a tarrying before endowment from on high is possible. That tarrying is in fasting. It is almost impossible to see the endowment of power if you refuse to tarry in fasting. In almost all generations, those that ever saw the endowment of power are people of fasting. This is the year that Adonai has determined that you will see the manifestation of the power of our Lord Yahushua HaMashiach in your life, but you have to tarry. And as you tarry, begin to break every yoke. Whatever binds and restricts is billed for destruction. Destroy the yokes in your life, family and nation. Negative family patterns that your family has laboured under is billed for destruction. The yoke of childlessness is billed for destruction. The yoke of frustration of marital settlement expectation is billed to be destroyed. Whatever your “this kind” is, can be tackled at the place of fasting.

Fasting makes us fit spiritually. In the realm of the spirit, it is survival of the fittest. If you are a spiritual weaklings, you will even lose the one that is in your hands now to the wickedness of the devil. But you need to come to that point of power with Yahweh. May this season provoke you and spur you to that point of power with Adonai. Shalom!

REMEMBER: Acceptable fast destroys the yokes.

PRAYER: Dear Father, Thank You for Your Word to me today. I ask for the grace to discipline my body in fasting in order to receive the anointing in Yahushua’s Name Amen!

PROPHETIC RELEASE: I release the grace for long fasts into your life today in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!

ACCEPTABLE FAST (3): RELEASE THE OPPRESSED

Is not this the fast that I have chosen? and to let the oppressed go free,
Isaiah 58:6 [KJV]

All these things we are enumerating are the things that Adonai said are the fast He has chosen. That means for your fast to be acceptable to Him, you must strive to accomplish these in your fast. Adonai desires that no one lives under oppression of any kind. There are human being oppression to his/her fellow. When the author was leading a Teens’ Church, there was a case of a woman that would put her kitchen knife on fire and when it is hot, she uses it to beat the small girl that she was living with. When that issue came up, if this little girl remove her cloth, you would instantly start weeping, it was an eyesore. We immediately activated that girl leaving that house same day and locked up the woman in question. A delegation was sent to return the girl to her people. That is human being oppression and wickedness to his/her fellow. Just remembering that incident now, tears still runs down my cheeks freely. It was something I have never seen before. When they say that some human beings are beast, I saw it first hand in that case. This was a woman that comes to church that can perpetrate that kind of oppression what would those that don’t even hear the Word of Adonai do?

There are also spiritual oppressions that people labour under. This one can even be worse than physical oppression. Sickness and disease is an oppression of the devil. Delayed expectation some times can be oppression of the devil. Prolonged state of being unmarried is satanic oppression. Extreme poverty in-spite of working hard is oppression of the devil. The list is almost inexhaustible. Whenever you see what negates the Word of God in your life or in the lives of others, you are looking at the result of oppression. In Luke 13:16, Yahushua says “And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?” You see that this woman’s affliction is a direct oppression of Satan. In Acts 10:38, we saw ‘How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil? for God was with him.’ This is the life that we are called to live in Yahushua, to let the oppressed go free. In fasting, we subdue our carnal nature in order to connect to the power of Adonai to send the devil packing in our affairs and in that of the people in our world.

There is what Adonai instituted in Leviticus 25 that is called the Jubilee. It is a year of release. At this Jubilee everyone is released and free to start life. Lands are released, properties are released and slaves are released. This is the will of Adonai that no one is under any form of oppression and He has called you to make it happen on the altar of fasting and prayer. Would you oblige Him?

REMEMBER: Acceptable fast is releasing those that are oppressed.

CONFESSION: I know who I am, an heir of Yahweh, a joint-heir with Yahushua. Just as my Father hates oppression, I also hate it with passion. I desire that all be released and I go about achieving this as I fast. Halleluyah!

PROPHETIC RELEASE: I decree the termination of oppression in your life now in Yahushua’s name Amen!

Acceptable fast undo the heavy burdens. Adonai desires that life should be good for His creation. People should live in health, prosperity and peace. There should not be weeping, mourning and gnashing of teeth. This is the ideal of Adonai. However, the presence of Satan and his agents has brought untold heavy burdens upon people and Adonai is seeking for a person to stand in the gap and undo these heavy burdens upon humanity. So in fasting, you connect with power from on high as your voice is heard on high to undo heavy burdens. You don’t need to be a pastor or in the full time ministry to be used of God to undo heavy burdens. As a person you should stand for yourself and at least for your family members and ensure that no satanic burdens remain around you. Literally, this means, let those who work for you not be working under inhuman conditions. Don’t allow your workers work under conditions that make them sigh and mourn. Make life better for people around you. There are organizations today that are literal slave centres where people work under terrible conditions and as they work, their groans and sighs ascend to Adonai and this breaks His heart. Never be that kind of person that people around you are doing their work with bitterness and terrible conditions.

Spiritually, this means undo every traces of satanic burden you sight. Be it sickness, disease or extreme poverty, attack that devil until he looses grip of his victims. When you see addictions of any type, it is a heavy burden that needs to be undone. The author heard a person say “spirit of smoking leave me alone” and the person was still popping the smoke out. That tells you that this person is held against his/her will. In the place of fasting, you attack that power holding that individual captive and undo that burden off his/her shoulders. One of the things that are prevalent in our day is sickness and disease. It is a burden that so many are labouring under and this is one of the reason that Yahushua came, to undo the heavy burden of sickness and disease. So as you fast, undo heavy burdens of sickness and disease in the life of anyone that comes to mind.

II Corinthians 10:4-5 says, ‘(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds?) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ?’ The arsenal under our control is heavy and can undo any kind of heavy burden. You can see that the person that is not fasting is doing himself/herself great disservice. Fasting which implies praying too is your opportunity to take your place of authority both for you and the people in your world. Sleeping giant wake up!

REMEMBER: Acceptable fast makes life better for others.

PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word to me today. I ask for the grace to take my place of authority as I wait upon you, undoing heavy burdens both in my life and the lives of others in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!

PROPHETIC RELEASE: Every heavy burden hanging on your life is cursed now in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!

ACCEPTABLE FAST (1): LOOSE THE BONDS OF WICKEDNESS

Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness,Isaiah 58:6 (KJV)

Scriptures lets us know that there are acceptable fasts. This means that there are also unacceptable fasts. As a rule of thumb, any fast that does not have impact on your flesh is not acceptable. Any fast that does not bring about a change in you of some sorts is not acceptable. Isaiah 58:3-5 enumerates unacceptable fasts. Fasting to show off; fasting that increases wickedness in you to your fellow human, fasting for strife and debate are not acceptable and hence your voice is not heard on high. Fasting is spiritual exercise to mortify the flesh, therefore it should eliminate the works of the flesh drastically with every session of your fast. Galatians 5:19-21 enumerates the works of the flesh, ”19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these? Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” As you fast, these things must be dropping from off you until you come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ (see Ephesians 4:13).

One of the things that acceptable fast does is to loose the bonds of wickedness. The bonds of wickedness are those things that do not allow you and others to experience the liberty of the Spirit. These are the activities of the wicked Satan and his agents in your life or the lives of your loved ones and in the spread of the Gospel. As you fast, you are to loose such bondages of the wicked by the power of Elohim. Fasting connects you to the power of Yahweh which enables you to loose the bondages of the wicked in your life, family and in the spread of the Gospel. There are bondages over cities, communities and nations that makes the hearts of people not to be receptive to the gospel, these wickedness is dealt with as you fast. II Thessalonians 3:1 says, ‘Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:’ II Corinthians 4:3-4 says, ‘3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.’ Fasting is not a time to ask for bread and butter. It is a time of intense spiritual warfare to deal with forces that hinder the gospel from having a free course and that veil the eyes of people from seeing the light of the glorious Gospel.

REMEMBER: Acceptable fast looses the bonds of wickedness over you, family, church, community and nation.

CONFESSION: I am a power broker at the place of fasting, destroying the bonds of wickedness over my life, family and in the spread of the Gospel. I take my place of authority as I reign and rule with Yahushua today. Glory be Elohim!

PROPHETIC RELEASE: Every form of wickedness around your life is destroyed now in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!

FASTING EXAMPLES (7): ELIJAH’S FAST

And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.I Kings 19:8 (KJV)

Of all that the Bible would cite as an example of someone whose prayer was effective, earnest and heart-felt with tremendous power which was dynamic in its working, Elijah was chosen. It is important, therefore, for us to examine the secret of this great patriarch of the faith. And it is not even so far fetched or a mystery, what powered his effectiveness in his relationship with Adonai. We all are praying, so prayer is not the tool of Prophet Elijah’s power with God. And if you look at James 5:16 from the Amplified Bible, you would see that it was not just the prayer of Elijah that made him powerful. Prayer is good but until prayer is earnest that is heart-felt and continued, it cannot be dynamic in its working. What is it that makes prayer earnest? If we can discover what made Elijah’s prayer earnest, and apply same, we shall get the same result of power with Yahweh as Elijah because Yahweh is not a respecter of person but in every nation, whosoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him (see Acts 10:34-35).

Our opening text was the story of Prophet Elijah after he ate the meal that the angel brought to him, went in the strength of that meal for 40 days and nights unto Horeb the mount of Adonai. It is important for us to know that fasting for 40 days and nights he was travelling to meet with Adonai as it were at Horeb. Fasting was the secret of Elijah’s earnestness in prayer. When you fast, your prayer transcends mere words to heart-felt energy and if the fast continues for a long time, it begins to produce tremendous power that is dynamic in its workings. There is absolutely nothing that cannot be handled in such an atmosphere. The author read of the story of a young man that was jilted by the love of his life and the best way he resolved to deal with the trauma was to starve himself to death. As the days progress in his death starvation mission, he encountered Yahushua and was saved and gloriously filled with the Holy Spirit, after 80 days of no food, he came out a vessel of revival. Whatever situation that drives you to fasting has given you an opportunity to encounter destiny with Adonai.

Prophet Elijah’s fast was 40 days and nights and that produced an earnestness in his prayer life that made tremendous power available. Listen, you will not die, if you fast for 40 days without food, drinking water only. Remember, as said at the beginning of the month that fasting by definition is going without food. Water is not part of what you should go without. It is utter ignorance that makes anybody to do without water in long fast. As a matter of duty when you are doing any fast that is more than three days long, you must drink at least 1.5- 2 litres of water daily and adjust as your body requires. Selah!

REMEMBER: Fasting produces the required earnestness to make your prayer powerful.

CONFESSION: I am operating under a better covenant than Elijah, therefore, I am getting better results as I fast and pray. I am making tremendous power available that is dynamic in its working. Glory to Yahweh!

PROPHETIC RELEASE: I see you changed as you fast, to such a level that your generation stands in awe of Elohim at work in your life in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!

FASTING EXAMPLES (6): APOSTLE PAUL’S FAST

And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.Acts 9:9 (KJV)

When I look at Apostle Paul, I am not marvelled as much at his usefulness in the hands of the Lord Yahushua because the way he entered the race was loaded. What I mean is this: from the very first day he encountered the Lord, he began a three-day dry fast. There are so many today that have been believers in Yahushua for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 years respectively that has not fasted for a three-day dry before. Apostle Paul’s introduction into HaMashiach (Christ) is with three days dry fast. There is something fasting does to your spirit-man. It establishes you in the Word of Adonai, firmly making it possible to believe the Word and dare anything. The daring nature of Paul was imparted to him on the altar of fasting. In his own words later, he said “in fastings often” (II Corinthians 11:27). Isaiah 58:8 says, “Then shall thy light break forth as the morning,” that is you will begin to swim in revelations and that was exactly the testimony of Apostle Paul. Because of the abundance of fastings, there were also abundance of revelations (II Corinthians 12:7), ‘And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.’

If you are a business person, learn to take business decision only after you have spent enough time in fasting about the decision. From now, never make any decision especially those that will impact on your future and posterity without at least three days fast to involve Adonai and know what He is saying. Decisions on who to marry is very crucial and should be preceded with a fast. Decisions to invest money. Decisions on where to build or rent. Decisions that will impact on your peace of mind should be passed through some fasting and prayer. Are you looking for admission, before you fill your JAMB form, pass that decision through fasting and prayer. Are you looking for a job, take sometime out to fast and pray that the Lord will locate you at the right place for you. These things are very important to fulfilling your destiny. Do you notice that fasting was involved in selecting Church leaders. In Acts 14:23, “And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.” Decisions that impact on the future and eternity are not supposed to be taken without fasting, not in your personal affairs, neither in business nor in the Church.

Know the problem or challenge you want to tackle in the fast. Define your problem. If you cannot define it, you cannot find a solution to it. Gather information on the challenge. Take the matter up in your fast and be open to the direction of the Holy Spirit. Shalom!

REMEMBER: You don’t take any decision that will impact your future and eternity without a fast.

CONFESSION: I know what to do because the Holy Spirit is my extraordinary strategist. As I fast, He unveils the best decision to me, causing me to multiply my success and walk in joy unspeakable full of Glory. Thank You Father!
