AWESOMENESS OF PRAISE (10):  DESTRUCTION OF PRIDE

And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.
Acts 12:23  (KJV)

Pride is a trap of the enemy; it has destroyed many destinies.  Most unusual liftings lead to pride; but the answer to pride is praise.  If you must escape the trap of pride, then you must understand the mystery of praise.  A personal life style of continuous praise is able to destroy the poison of pride.   Worms ate up Herod because he did not give Yahweh the glory.  That means that if he had given Yahweh the glory, he would have been preserved.  That means that giving Yahweh the glory, kills pride.  If you want pride to be eliminated from your life, then you must learn to promptly and honestly return the glory back to Yahweh.  Pride is real and it goes before destruction (see Proverbs 16:18).  Whenever pride appears, the next thing that you will see is shame (see Proverbs 11:2).  So destroying pride must be the goal of everyone that wants to go far with Yahweh.  With pride you don’t need the devil to attend to your case, it is Yahweh Himself that will destroy you because He resists the proud (see 1 Peter 5:5).  There was a man called Ahithophel. He was David’s counsellor.  When he gave counsel, it was like hearing from Yahweh.  But he saw this as a personal achievement and became puffed up.  So, when his counsel was rejected, he hanged himself (see 2 Samuel.17:23).  He was cut down because of pride.  Remember also the story of the rich fool?  He said, “I have made enough wealth, I will pull down these barns, I will build bigger ones, and I will say to my soul…” (Luke. 12:16-19). He was too full of himself, thinking that his rich harvest was as a result of his expertise.  But Yahweh said to him in verse 20 ‘…Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?’  Pride cut him down!

AWESOMENESS OF PRAISE (9): SUPERNATURAL LIFTING

AWESOMENESS OF PRAISE (9):  SUPERNATURAL LIFTING

1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise, O ye servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord.   7 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill;
Psalms 113:1, 7 (KJV)

There is a lifting up; a raising up when praise goes up to the Lord.  Psalms 134:2 says, ‘Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD.’  The lifting up of the hands in praise is very symbolic.  Just like a child when his father arrives from work or journey, is overjoyed to see him and runs to him, lifting up his/her hands gives the father an opportunity to lift the child up; lifting up our hands in praise is giving the Lord the opportunity to raise us up and that is exactly what our opening text is saying.  As you praise the Lord, He lifts and raises you from any place that makes your life uncomfortable.  Not just that, He places you in places that is humanly unimaginable, among the nobles of the earth (see Psalms 113:8).  Psalms 141:2 says something striking, ‘Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.’  The lifting up of our hands in praise is as the evening sacrifice which produces sweet savour to the Lord, who in turn lifts you and places you where the mind of man cannot imagine.  Yadah is praising Yahweh with extended hands in adoration.  When you yadah the Lord, you give Him the opportunity to turn you into a wonder in your world.  Sometimes, the lifting can be instant, other times, it can be in the process of time, you discover you are way beyond whatever efforts, connection and perspiration can achieve.  Praising the Lord engenders a supernatural raise in life.

AWESOMENESS OF PRAISE (8): YAHWEH TAKES OVER YOUR BATTLES

AWESOMENESS OF PRAISE (8):  YAHWEH TAKES OVER YOUR BATTLES

Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, …
2 Chronicles 20:17 (KJV)

‘You shall not need to fight in this battle.’  That is Yahweh taking over the battle from your hands.  Praise is like tapping Yahweh to take over the battle while you step out of the ring and watch.  That is how we emerge more than conquerors.  We don’t fight, but we always win.  Yahweh fights for us because in praise we hand over the battle to Him.  In Second Chronicles 20, three kings came up against Judah.  Three great armies with great multitude came against Jehoshaphat.  King Jehoshaphat turned to the Lord and sought the Lord with prayer and fasting, then Yahweh told them that the battle is not theirs but His.   How did they hand that battle over to the Lord?  They set themselves to sing and praise the Lord.  That is how to hand your battle over to the Lord, thank Him, sing and celebrate Him.  It doesn’t matter who is against you, the battle is the Lord’s and you know if Yahweh is fighting for you, you have already won.  You are more than a conqueror in HaMashiach (see Romans 8:37).  All you need is to allow Yahweh to take over your battles and that is only possible in praise.  Whatever cannot stand Yahweh cannot stand praise.  That is the reason the greatest battles in your life will always bow to praise.  When you become ‘a lion of praise’ roaring loud and clear from your heart to the Lord, you cannot be stopped.  When you become valiant in praise, you become more than a conqueror in life.

AWESOMENESS OF PRAISE (1): PROVOKES/PROCURES HARVESTS

AWESOMENESS OF PRAISE (1): PROVOKES/PROCURES HARVESTS

5 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. 6 Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. 7 God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.
Psalms 67:5-7 [KJV]

Praise provokes the release of your harvest. Even when you are a cheerful and consistent giver, you still need praise to turn your seed into harvest. When you praise Yahweh, His blessings upon your life become inexhaustible. No matter what you do in the kingdom of Yahweh, until you have praised Him, you cannot be fruitful. Behind every prosperous life is the mystery of praise. This is because praise effectively waters the seeds you sow – your services and offerings in the kingdom. David was a mighty seed sower and was also a praising king. As a result, he became a mighty man on the earth! The more you praise Him, the more meaningful your life becomes! The quality of your life is determined by the quality of your praise. Let’s give it to Him! I’d like you to know this: Yahweh owes you nothing, for He has done all things well. Rather, you owe Him praise. And as you praise Him, you won’t need to struggle for your needs to be met any more; they will be met of their own accord. Remember that the presence of Yahweh is the environment that man was created to live in and for his life to produce fruits and harvests, he must continue to exist in the presence of Yahweh. What the soil is to the plant is what the presence of Yahweh is to the life of man. Without the presence of Yahweh we wither and die.

THE CHOICE IS YOURS

THE CHOICE IS YOURS

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
II Corinthians 3:18 (BBE)

The essence of Yahweh’s Word is to effect changes. Just a Word from Yahweh can change the entire course of your world. Change however, is a choice. It is your reaction against the present that creates a future. Judas heard the Word, just as much as all the other disciples did; but it did not produce a change in him, because he did not choose change. Having heard all that is said in this book, anyone who ends it all with, “He’s just lucky. I have been working all my life, I mean, I don’t know exactly what they’re talking about”, is resistance to change, therefore, he remains in chains! When you don’t respond positively to the Word of Yahweh, you remain in captivity, whereas the Word is meant to set you free. John 8:32 says: “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Judas heard the most direct message in the world (from the Word Himself), but he didn’t give room for change. So he stayed on in chains, until he arrived in hell! That won’t be your case, in Yahushua’s name! Change is a choice! What information does is to provide opportunity for a change. But your response to the information is what determines your choice for either change or chains.

PILLARS OF PROSPERITY (7): THANKING

PILLARS OF PROSPERITY (7): THANKING

If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the Lord of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.
Malachi 2:2 (KJV)

Friend, you’re either thanking and giving glory to Yahweh or you are murmuring against Him. And the cheapest way out of murmuring is to be thankful. There’s no way you will not murmur if you’re not thankful. Abraham did not stagger at the promise of Yahweh. He was strong in faith, giving glory to Yahweh (see Romans 4:20). He was thankful to Yahweh even before he saw what he was believing Elohim for. He was able to do so by refusing to consider any contrary thing other than Yahweh who is faithful. To be thankful is to be fruitful, and to be thankless is to be fruitless! Until you become thankful, you don’t become fruitful. Psalm 67:5-7 says, “5 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. 6 Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. 7 God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.” You don’t praise after the increase has come, but before; it is the praise that provokes the increase. Abraham gave glory to Adonai and then Adonai responded. Every time you sit in the corner of your room wondering if Yahweh is still there, wondering if His Word can still be relied upon, wondering whether He is Who He says He is, or whether the preachers are just playing smart on you, you remain on the same spot. Every time you’re cast down, you can’t go up. Those who look up to the sun don’t see the shadows. Psalm 34:5 says, ”They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.”

PILLARS OF PROSPERITY (5): TRUSTING

PILLARS OF PROSPERITY (5): TRUSTING

He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.
Psalms 112:7 (KJV)

Quite a number believe God, but very few trust Him. What enhances a successful, cheerful and relaxed giving life is trusting. It makes for profitable giving. Those who trust Him are totally dependent on Him and on no one else. Jeremiah 17:7 says, “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.” Trusting is the highway to continuous triumph. Psalm 34:8, 22 says, “8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. 22 The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.“ In Matthew 6:31, Yahweh says, “Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?” The only way not to take thought for your life is to trust; and that’s your highway to the realm of kingdom prosperity. There are so many people who are giving in worship, but who have never enjoyed the blessings of Yahweh. Why? They are not dependent on Yahweh for their needs, so they keep suffering. They depend on their pay packets, and on their big brothers. Jeremiah 17:5 says, “Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.”

PILLARS OF PROSPERITY (4): WORKING

PILLARS OF PROSPERITY (4): WORKING

He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
Proverbs 10:4 (KJV)

No one is born poor, neither is anyone born rich. Nobody was born with a three-piece suit and a pair of shoes on. Everybody came to this earth stark naked. Nobody carried a purse or a cheque book when he was born. People arrive here to become whatever they choose to be. “He becometh poor…” Just like men become rich, others also become poor. Your choice determines what you become. “…But the hand of the diligent maketh rich.” So the making of wealth is not limited to giving alone. Just in a moment, I will show you the balance between giving and working. Giving procures the blessings, while working opens the channel through which that blessing flows back to you. Giving establishes the blessings, but working provides the channel through which the blessings are released. Giving without working is like pouring water into a basket. The channel is not created for the blessings that accrue from giving to be delivered. Here are two striking scriptures that draw a link between giving and working. “A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.” (Proverbs 18:16). That is, room is created by your givings. But look at Proverbs 22:29, “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” So it is your giving, and your working that determine your ultimate placement in life. The charismatics have been taught how to give, but many have not been taught the covenant place and dignity of labour.

PILLARS OF PROSPERITY (3): TALKING

PILLARS OF PROSPERITY (3): TALKING

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea? and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass? he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Mark 11:23 (KJV)

This is the law of faith, “you shall have whatsoever you say”. Your mouth is the channel through which you sign your spiritual check for withdrawal. Whatsoever you sign is delivered to you both positive and negative. If you look into your life now, your outcome is a product of your words. This is an inevitable law. In Numbers chapter 13, we read of the spies that went to spy Canaan. When they returned, ten of them said, “… We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.” (Numbers 13:31). And truly, all that generation that said that they be not able to enter the promised land, ended their journey in the wilderness. According to their words, they were not able to enter into that land. In Numbers 14:28 Yahweh told Moses “Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the Lord, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:” Whatever you say, whether positive or negative becomes your portion, it is only a matter of time. Caleb and Joshua said “And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.” (Numbers 13:30). The two were the only ones that entered into Canaan from that older generation. Your talking is your life. Your life flows in the direction of the your confession.

PILLARS OF PROSPERITY (2): CREATIVE THINKING

PILLARS OF PROSPERITY (2): CREATIVE THINKING

3 Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established: 4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
Proverbs 24:3-4 (KJV)

Until you think through, you cannot breakthrough. Thinking is a function of wisdom. Many of us are a concern to Yahweh. This is because the things we cry about don’t require tears at all. They just require taking the appropriate steps, and then walking into victory. But when you don’t know what steps to take, how do you take them? I’d like you to know that Yahweh has made every provision available for us to exercise our minds so we can excel in life. The creative abilities in us will only come to light with the adequate exercising of our senses. It is strong meat for strong destiny. Hitherto many have thought that sense knowledge is contrary to scriptural or spiritual knowledge. But without a good sense knowledge, you can’t understand the things of the spirit. Your spirit can’t instruct your body, it is your mind that does that; because the body only responds to instructions from the mental region. Your spirit illuminates your mind, passing on information to it, and then your mind dispatches it to the body, for appropriate actions. Please understand this: how much mental exercise you engage in determines how much you will excel in life. Remember, wisdom begets wealth. It is reasoning that makes rich!
