THANKFUL FOR MAY 2023

In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word.
Psalms 56:10 [KJV]

The Lord and His Word are the same. For us to come into His presence, the divine protocol is to enter with thanksgiving (see Psalms 100:4). You cannot enjoy the Word from the outer court. It is the Spirit that teaches us the Word. You must come into His presence first and that entails having a thankful/grateful heart. Maybe this is the link that is missing in the lives of so many students of the Word. Thanksgiving and praise is the way to enter into the presence of the Lord. Also it takes thanksgiving and praise to access revelation from the Word because you are only inside the court by thanksgiving and praise. Mark 4:11 says, ‘And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:’ You are within the court by thanksgiving and praise. No matter how in a hurry you are to read or study, close your eyes and thank the Lord for the privilege to have His Word and to read it.

THE DANGERS OF NOT BEING BUILT UP BY THE WORD

And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
Acts 20:32 (KJV)

In this kingdom, it takes maturing into sonship to enter into your inheritance. Isaiah 9:6 says, ‘For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.’ You are born a child when you are born again. But it takes the training of the Word to come into sonship and until you come to sonship, you don’t enter into rulership. Romans 8:19 says, ‘For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.’ The creation is not waiting for the children of Yahweh but for the sons. These are the ones that have been trained by the Word and are able to receive the government upon their shoulder. They are the people who are fully developed in the Word to understand the will of the Father and how to respond in obedience to Him. All these development is only possible by the Word. It is only the agency of the Word that see the development of the child of Yahweh into sonship. Sonship is about coming to the stage of knowing the will of the Father and that comes by much training in the Word.

DIMENSIONS OF THE WORD (4): THE WORD IS PROPHETIC

We have also a more sure word of prophecy? whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
II Peter 1:19 (KJV)

The Word of Yahweh is prophetic. This means that the Word foretells the events of the future. We have the glimpse of the end by the Word of the Lord. The Word of the Lord speaks to our future and to our moments. Until you are in the Word, you would not have idea of what the future looks like. Everything happening today is already prophesied in the Word. We know that the Word does not fail because what it foretold of old had come to pass, so what it foretell of the end shall come to pass. Anybody that refuses to take warning that the Word has already given has himself/herself to blame. The Word shows you the picture of your future. When you come into terms with that, then you will begin to walk in paths preordained for you. Romans 8:29 says, ‘For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.’ Even your salvation is a function of divine foreknowledge. It is because you were marked for salvation that irrespective of your past wickedness, somehow, salvation found you and when you heard the Word, you believed.

DIMENSIONS OF THE WORD (3): THE WORD IS SURGICAL

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12 (KJV)

When we say that the Word is surgical, we mean to say that the Word has the power to open up your spirit, soul and body and stitch, repair or replace whatever is missing, damaged, or failing. The Word can cut open your spirit, soul and body. That is exactly this surgical dimension that our opening text is speaking about. The Word of Yahweh is sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the dividing asunder of the soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. The Word can cut your body open and remove cancer cell without physically cutting you open but when you go to the doctors or laboratory, they would confirm that you don’t have any cancer any more. Beloved, with the Word in your mouth you can cut off sickness, disease or infection from your body. The Word of Yahweh in your mouth in the name of the Lord Yahushua is a surgical knife that can cut off any pain harassing your life. As a Pastor, this is the way the author deals with satanic affliction in the life of the people. I just lay hands on the person and I cut off the hold of that devil in the life of the person in the name of the Lord Yahushua and it is settled.

DIMENSIONS OF THE WORD (2): THE WORD IS CURATIVE

For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
Proverbs 4:22 (KJV)

The Word of Yahweh produces cure. The Hebrew word translated health in our opening text is ‘marpe’ meaning a medicine, remedy or healing. From Proverbs 4:20 we see that it was Yahweh’s Word that brings about this medicine to all their flesh. When you find the Word, you have found medicine. The Word brings cure to anywhere it arrives. The Word is like the river in Ezekiel 47:9, “And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh.” The Word became flesh and dwelt among us in the person of Yahushua. Yahushua HaMashiach is also known as our Great Physician and that means through which He brings His cure is through His Word. Whatever he spoke to received life. Finding the Word and applying it to yourself is a guarantee for cure because its medicine does not fail. This Great Physician through the Word has preventive medicine. These are set of instructions from the Word that if adhered to, would cause you to walk in divine health all the days of your life. Preventive medicine is how the Lord keeps your body from getting sick in the first place. In preventive medicine, the Lord Yahushua exposes you to the knowledge that will help you maintain your body which is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Most people are sick today not because of the devil but because of ignorance of what to eat and not to eat. To some the cream they are applying in their body has the capacity to cause them cancer tomorrow. Cases of diabetes is almost apart from where it is hereditary a function of what you put into your mouth in terms of food and drinks. Hosea 4:6 says that my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. As a new creation in HaMashiach, Satan has no power and authority over your health but ignorance can undo you. So avail yourself of the information the Great Physician by the Holy Spirit living in you is exposing you to.

DIMENSIONS OF THE WORD (1): THE WORD IS CREATIVE

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Hebrews 11:3 (KJV)

In Genesis 1:3, 6, 9, 11, 14, 17, 20, we saw Yahweh speaking the Word and the result is the world that we see today. Yahweh’s Word is creative. Whatever He calls forth comes into being. John 1:1-3 lets us know that “1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him? and without him was not any thing made that was made.” By the creative force of the Word, the universe as we see it today was brought forth. All things were made by the Word and they are being sustained by the Word. Hebrews 1:3 (Amp) says ‘upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power.’ The mighty Word of His power that created all things is the same Word that is upholding, maintaining, guiding and propelling the universe day in day out. The Word of Yahweh is more powerful than a nuclear reactor. There is no nuclear reactor that can propel the universe for over 13.8 billion years now. The creative Word of Yahweh perfectly and excellently placed everything in such a position that it has never needed an adjustment from the very time the Word spoke them into existence.

THE WORD BUILDS YOU UP (8): BY IMPARTING AN EXCELLENT SPIRIT

Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
Daniel 6:3 (KJV)

Excellence is a talent or quality which is unusually good and so surpasses ordinary standards. Excellence is above par performance or outcome. It is a performance that wows everyone and evokes feelings of awe and admiration. The Word builds us up by imparting excellence into our spirit-man. As you interact with the Word on daily basis, there is a metamorphosis going on in your spirit-man. Our Father is an excellent God and all He does is excellent. There is no single mistake or error in Yahweh. Relating with Him in His Word turns you into that image of excellence. That was the story of Daniel. He was an addict of the Word (see Daniel 9:2). The Word was his meditation even in a strange land. What did the Word make of him? Daniel became a man that exuded excellence like no man’s business. Daniel was in power in the reign of four kings in Babylon. At a time, the king preferred Daniel above all other presidents and princes. That is not to say that this Daniel was a captive and a stranger in the land. He was not the son of the soil as we would say in this part of the world. But excellence has a way of breaking protocols. There is no racial discrimination where excellence is at work. Whenever excellence shows up favouritism dies.

THE WORD BUILDS YOU UP (6): BY TEACHING THE FEAR OF YAHWEH

Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
Psalms 34:11 (KJV)

The Word teaches us the fear of the Lord. Is it not a wonderful thing that the fear of the Lord can be learnt. That means no one is disadvantaged in life. Just anyone can learn the fear of the Lord and function in the realms of power and glory in their relationship with Yahweh. The Fear of the Lord is reverence for the Lord. It is having a sense of awe for the person, presence and emotions of the Lord. It is living your life in such a way and with the sole priority to please the Lord and bring glory to His holy name. Our relationship with the Father starts with surrendering to the Lordship of Yahushua HaMashiach. John 14:6 says, ‘Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.’ If you have not accepted the Lord Yahushua as Lord and Personal Saviour, then you do not have a relationship with the Father because the scriptures cannot be broken. At the fall of Adam, humanity came short of the glory of the Father. It is only in Yahushua that we are reconciled, restored and empowered to fellowship with the Father. Another need to be saved is that at the fall of Adam, humanity acquired the nature of Satan. But at salvation, you become a new creation with the nature of righteousness of the Lord Yahushua. It is this nature of righteousness that makes it possible to be and live holy lives as a new creation. Holiness is the basis of a valid relationship with the Father (see II Timothty 2.19). Having become a new creation in HaMashiach, you must conform your soul and body to this new man in HaMashiach by doing the Word. It is the fear of the Lord that brings about doing the Word.

THE WORD BUILDS YOU UP (5): BY IMPARTING HATRED FOR SIN

Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity? therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
Hebrews 1:9 (KJV)

By the time we are done with this series, you will come to appreciate why it is practically impossible to live a successful Christian life outside the Word. Sin is one thing that separates humanity from Yahweh. Sin is not an old concept. Whatever the world has become today in terms of evil is a function of the introduction of sin by man. People ask “if there is Yahweh, why is there so much evil in the world?” Sin is the answer. Wherever sin is present, no good thing will ever be present there. Whenever you see sin, there must of necessity be the absence of Yahweh. This is a very serious matter. Yahweh loves humanity but hates sin. Yahweh does not condone sin. Sin is the straw that breaks the camel’s back with Yahweh. No matter how close you are to Him, once you start meddling with sin, your time has expired with Him. You have overstayed your welcome, we would say humanly speaking. You are quickly like a leper escorted out of the court like what happened to king Uzziah of Judah in II Chronicles 26:16-23. Beloved, you must understand today that sin is not your friend on all counts. The Lord hates sin. When you stay in the Word in reading, studying and meditation, there is an impartation of the same order of hatred for sin that the Lord has.

THE WORD BUILDS YOU UP (3): BY IMPARTING THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIS WILL

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
Colossians 1:9 [KJV]

The Knowledge of Yahweh’s Will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding is the goldmine that when you hit it, your life and world turns around 360 degrees instantly. Coming to the knowledge of His Will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding is so crucial that you should be praying like Apostle Paul both for yourself and especially for your family members to come to this dimension in the Word. The Knowledge of His Will in all Wisdom and spiritual understanding means coming to know the will of Yahweh and being filled with the spiritual understanding to process it as it relates to you and receiving the Wisdom to apply it to your life in order to come into the reality of what it is saying. Firstly is knowing the Will of Yahweh and the Will of Yahweh is what is in the Word, the Bible. The Bible is the Will of Yahweh for you the believer. The Will defines your inheritance and allotments; that is exactly what the Word does, showing you what belongs to you in HaMashiach and the path to take to take delivery of it. Knowing the Will of Yahweh is critical because, you can only act according to knowledge. But then, knowledge alone is not enough.
