James 3:17 (KJV)

The Greek word translated easy to be entreated is ‘eupeithes’ meaning easily obeying, compliant. According to James 3:17, one of the signs that Yahweh’s wisdom is at work in a person’s heart is that he is “easy to be entreated.” Such a person is approachable, reasonable, willing to listen, to be persuaded, and to yield. He is not stubborn, obstinate, controlling, or overbearing. The “wisdom that is from above” produces a mildness of disposition, a meekness of spirit, that characterizes true gentleness (see James 3:13). This doesn’t mean that this attribute swallows everything that comes hook, line and sinker. It does not mean that it accepts injustice and puts up with unrighteousness. This Wisdom ensures that justice prevails. It ensures that unrighteousness is eliminated. However, this Wisdom listens and seeks to understand the position of others without asserting oneself.

The wisdom from above also ensures that you enjoy supernatural rest. It releases to you peace of mind, peace in your body, peace in your place of work, peace everywhere! Kenneth Hagin tells the story of a time during the second world war, when everyone would run into a tunnel for refuge during bombings. But, there was this old woman who was not seen in the tunnel. Fearing she had been killed, the others were astonished when they saw her a few days later just having a nice time. So, they asked her, “Where were you during the bombing? Why didn’t we see you?” And she answered, “There is Somebody keeping me, who neither sleeps nor slumbers. So there’s no reason why two of us should be awake!” Some people probably got killed while they were running around, but she was at peace! That’s supernatural wisdom giving the enemy a knock out! When peace becomes established in your heart, you give Yahweh room to intervene in your life and situation. That was the principle the Lord Yahushua, the wisdom of Yahweh, operated by when He was fast asleep on a pillow in the midst of a raging storm! Mark 4:37-39 says, “37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. 38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? 39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” He understood that except He was at rest, divine intervention was not in view. Exodus 14:14 says, “The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”

From today to the next couple of days, we shall be looking at the hallmarks of this wisdom. These are the things that show forth that this wisdom from above is operational in you. The Lord Yahushua says in Matthew 7:16, “Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?” The Lord Yahushua HaMashiach, the wisdom of God, asked the Jews of His days confidently: “Which of you convinceth me of sin?” (see John 8:46). He was too sure of His walk of purity. Later it was said concerning Him, “And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?” (Matthew 13:54). It follows therefore that the wisdom on display in His life was rooted in purity. That is why to operate Yahweh’s wisdom, you must be pure, because the wisdom from above is not cunning or crafty, it is pure and open. Those petty things you engage in like bitterness, strife, envy and other works of the flesh are the things that hinder you from operating in the same frequency of wisdom as the Lord Yahushua did. Iniquity is a destroyer; you must destroy it before it destroys your destiny. Iniquity corrupts mentality and your mind is the seat of Wisdom. It follows that you cannot function in this Wisdom from above with iniquity. Sin is a sinker of destiny. Don’t play around it. Don’t feel comfortable with any sinful habit, because the end of sin is death. Galatians 6:7-8 says, “7 Be not deceived? God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption? but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”

THE PURSUIT OF PURPOSE

And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
Habakkuk 2:2 (KJV)

“That he may run that reads it.” The aim of the Lord for showing us our vision is so that we can run with it. Accomplishment is the plan of the Lord Yahushua for showing us the purpose and vision of our lives. You are not shown your vision for analysis and discussion. “That he may run that reads it” There is a running or pursuit agenda that the Lord has for you. The process is discovering purpose and in the process seeing where the Lord has earmarked for you to function in the kingdom. After you have discovered this, you are expected to sit down and count the cost by planning. This planning will task your mind to reason analytically, spiritually, intellectually and realistically. After you are done, there must be “no brain excuse”. There are people that believer that they don’t have the required mental capacity to pursue their purpose, especially when they compare with others. Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” I Corinthians 2:16 says, ‘For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.’ The mind or intelligence of HaMashiach is superior to the mind of any other mortal and that is the mind/intelligence you have when you were born again. You have no excuse at all.

TO GET WISDOM (3): EXIST IN THE FEAR OF YAHWEH

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Proverbs 9:10 (KJV)

The fear of the Lord is the foundation for everything that is coming down from heaven. Every other gift from the Lord apart from Salvation is a function of the fear of the Lord. Salvation brings you to the fear of the Lord. Even though at Salvation, you are holy, made a holy priesthood, however, the matter of the fear of the Lord is a choice every believer must make. Proverbs 1:29 says, ‘For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord:’ Until you make the choice for the fear of the Lord in your life, you don’t have a chance with this Wisdom that turns the mountains by the roots. We saw a valid example in Daniel. The Wisdom that Yahweh gave Daniel was on the altar of the fear of the Lord when Daniel made a solid choice out of the fear of the Lord not to defile himself. Daniel 1:8 says, “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.” What was the result of the fear of the Lord in the life of Daniel? “As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.” (Daniel 1:17). The fear of the Lord is the foundation for Wisdom. You want to flow in this Wisdom from above? Then you must make the choice for the Fear of the Lord today.

TO GET WISDOM (2): LIVE IN THE WORD

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
Psalms 19:7 (KJV)

The spiritual environment that you must be to get this Wisdom is in HaMashiach. That means that you must be properly genuinely saved. Without this platform, this Wisdom would be an elusive desire in the life of anyone. The best you can get is human wisdom. This Wisdom that comes from above is only accessible to those dwelling in the heavenly places. As a born again person, you are dwelling in the heavenly places in Hamashiach (see Ephesians 1:20; 2:5-6). The Word of the Lord is foolishness to the unregenerated person. This Wisdom from above is stirred by learning the Word of the Lord. That is to say that you have no chance in this Wisdom if you are not in the Word. It is the Word of the Law that stirs the deposit of this Wisdom. Our opening text says that the Word makes wise the simple. The simple here is the person that is seducible. The simple here is the person that is silly; that can be attracted or lead away from proper behaviour or thinking. Everybody that is not born again has fallen into the seduction of the devil and it takes new birth and schooling in the Word to stir the Wisdom from above in the life of anybody. There is a life of Wisdom in your spirit-man but it takes seating down at the feet of the Lord Yahushua who is the Word to stir it. This is because the mind is channel of manifesting this Wisdom.

TO GET WISDOM (1): YOU MUST BE SAVED

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Acts 4:12 [KJV]

As we have already established that the Spirit of HaMashiach is the Spirit of Wisdom. That follows that until we come to HaMashiach to be saved, we cannot have access to this Wisdom. In the Old Testament, this Wisdom came by divine impartation for special assignment. That is the case with Bezaleel. Exodus 28:3 says, ‘And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron’s garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office.’ Exodus 31:2-3 says, ‘2 See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: 3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,’ The Spirit of Wisdom came upon people to help them function in certain offices and perform certain assignment for the Lord. In the New Testament, the reality which is Yahushua has come. John 1:17 says, “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.” We are no longer in the shadows. Now, the Spirit of Wisdom is open to whosoever desire it. James 1:5 says, ‘If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not? and it shall be given him.’ However, our first access to the Spirit of HaMashiach is at new birth. It is at new birth that the Holy Spirit comes into the life of the believer and recreates his spirit. If you have not accepted the Lordship of the Lord Yahushua, you cannot receive the Spirit of Wisdom. Wisdom is one of the seven-fold manifestation of the Holy Spirit.

PLANNING IS A PRODUCT OF WISDOM

Any enterprise is built by wise planning, becomes strong through common sense, and profits wonderfully by keeping abreast of the facts.
Proverbs 24:3-4 (TLB)

Planning is the fundamental management function, which involves deciding beforehand, what is to be done, when it is to be done, how it is to be done and who is going to do it. It is an intellectual process which lays down an organisation’s/individual’s objectives and develops various courses of action, by which the organisation/individual can achieve those objectives. It chalks out exactly, how to attain a specific goal. Planning is nothing but thinking before the action takes place. It helps us to take a peep into the future and decide in advance the way to deal with the situations, which we are going to encounter in future. It involves logical thinking and rational decision making. Spiritually speaking, planning is a wisdom function, that helps the individual, group, organisation or nation lay beforehand, what is to be done (objective), when it is to be done (timing), how it is to be done (strategy) and who is going to do it (assigning an individual). It leaves no room to assumptions. Our opening texts says that any enterprise, business, ministry, career is built by wise planning. Planning is tying activities or actions to be carried out to time, place and person. Planning is the fundamental way of being versatile in your pursuits in life. It is also a smart way to obtain results. Many believers who are still grounded today, though they have discovered their gifts, have identified with their discoveries and are unwaveringly committed in its pursuit, are so because they are poor planners. A wise man said, “failing to plan is planning to fail.” Planning, therefore, is God’s wisdom for increased productivity.

THE PERILS OF LIVING WITHOUT VISION

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
Proverbs 29:18 (KJV)

Let us see several Bible translations of Proverbs 29:18. NLT says, “When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful.” Easy-to-read Version (ERV) says, “If a nation is not guided by God, the people will lose self-control, but the nation that obeys God’s law will be happy.” GNB says, “A nation without God’s guidance is a nation without order. Happy are those who keep God’s law!” The Passion Translation(TPT) says, “When there is no clear prophetic vision, people quickly wander astray. But when you follow the revelation of the Word, heaven’s bliss fills your soul.” CEV says, “Without guidance from God law and order disappear, but God blesses everyone who obeys his Law.” Let’s collate these translations cited. What it is all about is that without vision, you perish, run wild, lose self-control, exist orderless, wander astray, and experience the disappearance of law and order in your life. I think these different translations have given us in details the dangers of living without vision. This perish is both in time and ultimately in eternity. It is vision that makes you keep eternity in view in your day to day operations. That is why perishing is inevitable without vision because just like New Living Translation (NLT) tells us, you would run wild. You will begin to live like every other person, “let us eat and drink, tomorrow we die.” (see Isaiah 22:13). You can run wild into alcoholism, pornography, sexual pervasions of all manner, squandermania, and all manner of unprintable addictions. All these are the product of lack of vision, people running wild.

HOW TO COME BY YOUR VISION

I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
Habakkuk 2:1 (KJV)

Our opening text is describing a prayer situation and position. That presupposes that the quest to get your divine vision requires you to take a prayer posture. This prayer demand accounts why so many in the body of HaMashiach hasn’t known Yahweh’s purpose and plans for them till date. It is not gotten on the platter of gold; it takes some prayer posture beloved. One major characteristics of a genuine vision is that it has its source in Yahweh. If you want to hear, “well-done, good and faithful servant” (see Matthew 25:21,23), you must ensure that you get your vision from the Lord. Any vision that does not have its source in Yahweh leads to destruction. It might flourish for a while but certain destruction is inevitable. Even if you are applauded here on earth by people, what becomes of you when you stand before the throne of Him to whom we have to do? (see Hebrews 4:13). A vision is sought for and acquired by man/woman. Everyone through separation seeks his own vision. No one can seek a vision for another person. Vision is an individual, personal affair. It is not a collective affair. A man/woman who desires a vision must necessarily separate himself from every distraction and make enquiries from Yahweh.
