WHAT FASTING OFFERS (1): MORTIFICATION OF THE FLESH

For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.Romans 8:13 (KJV)

We have said over and over again that fasting does not change Adonai. You are not fasting to get Yahweh to change His mind because He is not a man with shifting shadows (James 1:17 NASB). Fasting is a tool to dethrone the flesh and until fasting has accomplished this task, you have not fasted. In Colossians 3:5, we see what must be put to death, “Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth? fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:” and they are not something that you can do once and for all. That accounts why consecrational fasts should be a regular routine for any serious minded believer that is expecting the rapture. But there is a long fast that breaks the holds of these members of your flesh and disables them that they become no more issues in your life. You must take opportunity of at least one 21 or 40 days total fast just to deal with any form of flesh manifestation in your life. Yours may not be fornication, but what of bitterness, pride, hatred, gossip, wrath, malice, lies, envy and jealousy (see Colossians 3:8-9). Even among ministers, you see a lot of envy and jealousy. You need a total fast to lay yourself down at the altar and let the Lord Holy Spirit expose you to you.

SCRIPTURAL FASTING

Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.Matthew 6:16 (KJV)

There are three activities that are non-negotiable for the believer. They are a matter of when and not if. First is giving. Second is praying and the third is fasting. These activities are a matter of living for the believer. You cannot live the life of HaMashiach (Christ, Messiah, the Anointed one) without giving, praying and fasting. So many have chosen giving and praying and forsaken fasting and that accounts for the powerlessness in the Church today. With all that Yahushua is, he needed to fast for forty days, that should tell you that fasting is a must, it is a matter of when and not if. Until you fast, you cannot connect the power to fulfill your destiny on earth. Until you fast, there are what Yahushua called “this kind” that cannot be solved in your life (see Matthew 17:21). You should be fasting as often as you are praying and giving. Everybody in all ages that have connected with power with Yahweh fasted. Fasting does not change Elohim but fasting changes you.

WHAT IS FASTING?

And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.Matthew 4:2 (KJV)

There is a misunderstanding among believers as to what a fast is and because of that lack of knowledge, Satan deceives a lot of believers. Webster’s, and also the Bible Dictionary, define fasting as, “abstinence from food. Especially as a religious observance.” (FAST: “To abstain from food.”). We may ask the question, “Is water food?“ First, we will consider Webster’s definition of food, and it reads as follows: “Food: nutriment; nourishment in solid form.” Food and water-drinking are two different things. To do without water results in thirsting, and thirsting means, “a great desire to drink.” Fasting will be understood better if we recognize these facts. One should not associate abstinence from water, with the subject of fasting; thus, we see the contradistinction between food and water. Fasting has nothing with drinking water. In fact, you should drink water while you are fasting for several reasons. When you are on a fast, your body goes into cleansing called detoxification. This process needs a lot of water to complete. When we are talking about a fast here, we are talking about a protracted fast or a complete fast. We are dealing with the type of fast taken by the Lord Yahushua HaMashiach. A fast like that of Paul, or Daniel: “Bible Fast.” A complete fast is a fast from the time hunger leaves, until the time hunger returns. Such a fast may continue from twenty-one to forty days, depending on the individual, and also on the amount of time it takes you to get your prayers through to Heaven.

SERVING THE INTEREST OF YAHWEH’S KINGDOM IS THE REASON YOU ARE HERE

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness? and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:33 [KJV]

You saved to serve. The reason Yahushua did not call you home to be with Him at your salvation is because, He needs you here to serve the interest of His Kingdom. The Kingdom of Yahushua on earth now is the souls that have subscribed to the Lordship of Yahushua in their lives. The interest of Yahweh’s kingdom on earth is all about the salvation and establishment of souls. This is your sole responsibility as a believer now. This is the very reason why you are alive today. So many people think that they are alive to worship and praise Yahweh. That is true but you don’t need to be alive to worship and praise Yahweh. When you go to be with the Lord Yahushua, all you do 24/7 is worshipping the beauty of Holiness. If worship and praise is the reason you are alive now, then you don’t need to be on earth to truly praise the Lord. The very reason you are alive now is to be an instrument to bring someone to salvation. Remember, the only reason the Lord Yahushua came to earth is the salvation of the soul of man. There is no other reason. Humanity was lost in sin and needed a saviour; one who can satisfy the demand of Yahweh’s justice. When He was born, the angel announced His purpose. In Matthew 1:18 the Word says, “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” He came to save souls.

THANKFUL FOR DECEMBER 2022

Blessed be the Lord: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city.
Psalms 31:21 [KJV]

We have seen the Lord’s goodness, His mercies and compassion! Halleluyah, praise the Lord! Without any iota of doubt, the Lord has been good to us. If you doubt me, take a trip to the hospital or the morgue and see for yourself. You are not better than those in the hospital or mortuary. 365 days is not a joke and the Lord has conquered the days for us. We are immensely grateful Father. What a day! The last day of the month of December. The last day of the year 2022. In a couple of hours we shall arrive 2022 and that in good health and sound mind. What a good God we serve. Taking us all the way from January 1st to December 31st 2022, providing for us, protecting us, preserving us, leading and guiding us. We are here today to say THANK YOU FATHER! For You are good and Your mercies endures forever. Of a truth, I have seen Your mercies and I can confidently say that I do not deserve the least of the loving kindness which has been super abundant towards me and mine all through 2022.

WHAT IS IN DIVINE DIRECTION FOR YOU (4): DIVINE BACKING

And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

When Yahweh leads you, He backs you up so much that your words becomes law. Yahweh worked with them so much as they went preaching everywhere that it was said of them “The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.” (see Acts 14:11). They literally became gods walking in divine direction. When you obey the command of Yahweh, it makes you a commander on earth. Yahweh’s leading makes you a leader among people. Whether it is in your business, career or family, when you obey divine direction, you enjoy divine back up. So many things we suffer today is just a function of not walking in divine direction. The Lord Yahushua said “verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.” (John 5:19). The Lord Yahushua Himself enjoyed divine back up not because he was born of a virgin birth, not because he is the son of Yahweh but because he accessed divine direction and did accordingly. The man who was healed that was born blind alluded to the fact that if Yahushua was not of Yahweh that is following divine direction, “he could do nothing.” (see John 9:33).

WHAT IS IN DIVINE DIRECTION FOR YOU (3): SUPERNATURAL PRESERVATION

He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.
Deuteronomy 32:9 (KJV)

There are immense profits in following divine direction. There is nobody that obeys the Lord God at a loss. When Yahweh leads you in a particular direction, He takes the extra step of dispatching angels to protect you along that path. No force in hell can stop a man who has discovered the plan of Yahweh for his life and is pursuing it, as angelic forces are on hand to fight on his behalf, to cut off any adversary that dares to come near. Exodus 23:20, 22-23 says, ‘20 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. 22 But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries. 23 For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off.’ The job of the angel assigned to you is to keep you in the way and to bring you into your destiny. He monitors the divine plan handed over to you and ensures that it is realized. He clears off any opposition that may want to obstruct you.

WHAT IS IN DIVINE DIRECTION FOR YOU (2): OPPOSITIONS ARE TAKEN OUT

Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
II Thessalonians 1:6 (KJV)

When you follow divine direction, oppositions to your Yahweh-ordained inheritance are taken care of by Yahweh. Yahweh takes your enemies down for your sake. It is a righteous thing with Yahweh to smite all that rise up against you (see II Thessalonians 1:6). Even Yahushua had to surrender himself otherwise no hands could be laid on Him. Those that came to arrest the Lord Yahushua had to fall before him. They couldn’t stand his presence. No man could harm Yahushua until He surrendered himself for the cross. John 18:4-6 showed us that, ‘4 Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye? 5 They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them. 6 As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.’ You are indomitable walking in the will of Yahweh; following divine direction for your life. I Peter 3:13 says, ‘And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?’ You are unconquerable following divine direction because all the powers of heaven are at your disposal to handle any satanic uprisings. You don’t struggle to reign and rule following divine direction.

WHAT IS IN DIVINE DIRECTION FOR YOU (1): EXISTENCE IN THE STILL WATERS

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
Psalms 23:2 [KJV]

There is a place of existence besides the still waters. It is a place of peace, calm and unfathomable tranquillity. It is a place of supernatural comfort and rest. The still waters of destiny is a real place but it is only reserved for those that are led by Yahweh’s Spirit. The still waters is that place where the Lord takes over your battles. Yahweh through the prophetic told Jehoshaphat and Judah to set themselves. II Chronicles 20:17 says, “Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you.” Do you want to see the salvation of the Lord, then it behoves on you to be diligent to access divine direction. That leading into the still waters for Jehoshaphat and Judah came out of a three days fast. These things don’t fall into one’s lap, you have to reach out and lay hold on them. The challenge is not if there is a place where one can enjoy the still waters of Yahweh. The challenge we have today is taking responsibility like King Jehoshaphat and Judah did to ask direction from the Lord. But Beloved, there is no way around it. If you desire to exist around the still waters, divine direction is the way there.

ROYAL GIFTS – BOXING DAY

And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
Matthew 2:11 (KJV)

The king is born. His star appeared to the Wise men of the East. There must be something about this particular star that informed the kind of gifts that these wise men came with to worship the new born King. Number One, these wise men knew that this star is that of a king because they asked “Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.” (Matthew 2:2). In their study of the Jewish scriptures, these wise men knew that there is a prophecy of the birth of an eternal King of the Jews. They didn’t say king (with small letter), no, they asked of the King of the Jews (with capital letter). Number Two, these wise men knew something of the deity of this new born King. From their country, they set out to go and worship this new born King. That means that they understood that this King is Yahweh. Number three, these wise men knew that this new born eternal King is going to offer his life for humanity. What an insight! So these wise men came to worship this new born King with Kingly Gifts. Let’s see what they are and represent.
