PRAISE IS YOUR PURPOSE

This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.
Isaiah 43:21 (KJV)

Purpose is the original intention for the creation of a thing. For everything created there was a purpose behind the manufacturer’s mind for the making of that thing. Man is the creation of Yahweh and He didn’t leave us ignorant of the purpose for Him making man. Dr Myles says that if purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable. The reason there is so much abuse of purpose in the human race is because for most part, most people don’t even know the purpose for which they are alive. They were born into a routine of being born, going to school, getting a job or starting an enterprise, getting married and giving birth to children, growing old and dying. Most people go through this routine and for them, that is life. No wonder, there is so much bustle in the rat race. Everyone wants to beat everyone else. For the majority, there is no consciousness of purpose at all. Consequently, what you don’t know you can’t pursue. The good news is that man has a purpose for his making and it can be discovered. There is the general purpose of man and there is the specific purpose of man. The specific purpose gives the individual the specific ways to fulfil the general purpose. By all means the general purpose is the life assignment of man and that is to show forth the praises of the Yahweh; to bring Yahweh praise and glory. Whatever man is doing that does not fulfil this purpose is a wasted life and securing an eternity in agony and anguish. Though praising Yahweh is our purpose, it is only the living that can praise the Lord (see Isaiah 38:19). Ephesians 2:1 says that we were dead in trespasses and sins. Apostle Paul says that the law came and sin revived in him, thereby killing him (see Romans 7:9). Sin kills and Romans 3:23 says that all have sinned and come short of the glory of Yahweh. Therefore, everyone born of a woman was born in sin, consequently, spiritually dead. That implies that you cannot praise Yahweh until you are alive and living.

WHAT IS PRAISE (3)

O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker.
Psalms 95:6 (KJV)

We shall be concluding our discuss on the seven Hebrew words that define praise. We have seen Towdah, Yadah, Halal, Shabach and Zamar in the preceding days. Let’s continue with the sixth.

6. Barak (Strong’s, H1288; Vine’s, “To Bless”), the sixth dimension of praise, is a primitive root meaning, “to kneel, to bless Yahweh as an act of adoration, to salute.” (Psalms 95:6). This is often the response of the human spirit to the presence of Yahweh during praise and worship. While barak is often translated to “bless,” particularly in the King James Version (see Genesis 9:26; Deuteronomy 1:11; Jeremiah 4:2), other English translations use “praise” (see Genesis 24:48; Joshua 22:33; 1 Samuel 25:32; 1 Kings 10:9; Psalms 41:13) when referring to people blessing Yahweh, and “congratulate” (see 1 Kings 1:47) and “thank” (see Deuteronomy 24:13) when referring to people blessing people. Barak is also used to refer to Yahweh’s blessing on human beings (see Genesis 1:22; 9:1; Deuteronomy 12:7; Psalms 45:2) and the things they do and need (see Exodus 23:25; Deuteronomy 16:15), and of the blessings given by the priests in Yahweh’s name (see Deuteronomy 21:5). In a somewhat interesting counterpoint, barak is also used to refer to blasphemy or cursing against Yahweh (see 1 Kings 21:10,13; Job 1:5).

WHAT IS PRAISE (2)

Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.

We continue from yesterday and we are beginning today from the third Hebrew word for praise and the third dimension.

3. Halal (Strong’s, H1984; Vine’s, “To Praise”), the third dimension of praise, is derived from a primitive root that means, among other things, “to be clear,” “to shine,” “to make a show,” “to boast,” “to be (clamorously) foolish,” “to rave.” It suggests a sense of foolishness or abandonment in praise. Therefore, some people won’t praise Yahweh with halal because they are too dignified. They refuse to look even a little bit foolish in their celebration of Yahweh. Whenever I think of halal, II Samuel 6:21-22 comes to mind. David said “… therefore, will I play before the Lord.” “and I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight …” Wow! This is halal in demonstration. It means to play before the Lord, to be clamorously foolish in giving adoration; to be vile and base in one’s sight just to show Yahweh how much one loves Him. In the Scriptures, in addition to “praise,” halal is translated as “commend” (see Genesis 12:15; Proverbs 12:8), “boast” (see 1 Kings 20:11; Psalms 10:3; 34:2; 97:7), “celebrate” (see Isaiah 38:18), “glory” (see 1 Chronicles 16:10; Psalms 105:3; Isaiah 41:16), “exult” (see Isaiah 45:25), “sing praises” (see 2 Chronicles 23:13), and “shine” (see Job 31:26; 41:18). Since halal is also translated “insane” (see 1 Samuel 21:13), or “fools” and “foolish” (see Job 12:17; Psalms 5:5; 73:3; Ecclesiastes 2:2). Found in the Old Testament more than 160 times, halal may also be used in the praise of people, but the more common usage is in praise of Yahweh—hence, the word Halleluyah, a Hebrew word from the same root, which is usually translated “Praise the LORD!”

YAHWEH MADE LIFE TO RUN ON PRINCIPLES

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:32 [KJV]

Man’s ability to fulfil his purpose and to be all Yahweh intended him to be is predicated on the requirement that he obey the principles Yahweh established when He created human beings. Principle is a law that explains the fundamental reasons of the working of something in nature. Why is this true? Yahweh is a God of principles. Everything He created was established to operate by certain principles that guarantee its proper function. This pattern in creation includes human beings. We were created to operate by principles that Yahweh established before He created us. These principles or rules of operation for human beings are found throughout the Bible, although they are not always referred to as principles. They may also be referred to as Yahweh’s laws, ordinances, precepts, statutes, commands, commandments, decrees, instructions, word, and ways. Although the meaning of each of these words carries a slightly different nuance from the others, they all carry within them the basic concept of a principle, which is a law that is established to preserve and protect a created thing and to assure its maximum performance. So each time these words occur in Scripture, the particular word used may be removed and the word principle may be inserted in its place.

PROPHETIC FOCUS FOR JUNE 2023

In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word.
Psalms 57:10 [KJV]

Beloved, it is with joy and gratitude to our Lord and Master Yahushua HaMashiach and our beloved Heavenly Father that I welcome you to the month of June 2023. It is already the sixth month just like that in this awesome year that we are seeing the manifestations of the Dependable Yahweh. It is my faith that you are enjoying the best of Yahweh. Whatever your situation is today, there is hope for you because you are still alive “for a living dog is better than a dead lion.” (see Ecclesiastes 9:4). In the month of May, we saw that the Word is Yahweh’s medium of building us up and qualifying us to access our inheritance. The Truth is that without being built up by the Word, you cannot access your inheritance in Him. Galatians 4:1-3 shows us that. We believe that you have received a fresh baptism of passion for the Word having been equipped with all the necessary knowledge on how to maximize your relationship with the Word. Remember that it is “whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” (James 1:25). So, go ahead and start doing what you have heard and been taught.

THANKFUL FOR MAY 2023

The Lord and His Word are the same. For us to come into His presence, the divine protocol is to enter with thanksgiving (see Psalms 100:4). You cannot enjoy the Word from the outer court. It is the Spirit that teaches us the Word. You must come into His presence first and that entails having a thankful/grateful heart. Maybe this is the link that is missing in the lives of so many students of the Word. Thanksgiving and praise is the way to enter into the presence of the Lord. Also it takes thanksgiving and praise to access revelation from the Word because you are only inside the court by thanksgiving and praise. Mark 4:11 says, ‘And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:’ You are within the court by thanksgiving and praise. No matter how in a hurry you are to read or study, close your eyes and thank the Lord for the privilege to have His Word and to read it.

We have also a more sure word of prophecy? whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
II Peter 1:19 (KJV)

The Word of Yahweh is prophetic. This means that the Word foretells the events of the future. We have the glimpse of the end by the Word of the Lord. The Word of the Lord speaks to our future and to our moments. Until you are in the Word, you would not have idea of what the future looks like. Everything happening today is already prophesied in the Word. We know that the Word does not fail because what it foretold of old had come to pass, so what it foretell of the end shall come to pass. Anybody that refuses to take warning that the Word has already given has himself/herself to blame. The Word shows you the picture of your future. When you come into terms with that, then you will begin to walk in paths preordained for you. Romans 8:29 says, ‘For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.’ Even your salvation is a function of divine foreknowledge. It is because you were marked for salvation that irrespective of your past wickedness, somehow, salvation found you and when you heard the Word, you believed.

DIMENSIONS OF THE WORD (3): THE WORD IS SURGICAL

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12 (KJV)

When we say that the Word is surgical, we mean to say that the Word has the power to open up your spirit, soul and body and stitch, repair or replace whatever is missing, damaged, or failing. The Word can cut open your spirit, soul and body. That is exactly this surgical dimension that our opening text is speaking about. The Word of Yahweh is sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the dividing asunder of the soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. The Word can cut your body open and remove cancer cell without physically cutting you open but when you go to the doctors or laboratory, they would confirm that you don’t have any cancer any more. Beloved, with the Word in your mouth you can cut off sickness, disease or infection from your body. The Word of Yahweh in your mouth in the name of the Lord Yahushua is a surgical knife that can cut off any pain harassing your life. As a Pastor, this is the way the author deals with satanic affliction in the life of the people. I just lay hands on the person and I cut off the hold of that devil in the life of the person in the name of the Lord Yahushua and it is settled.

DIMENSIONS OF THE WORD (2): THE WORD IS CURATIVE

For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
Proverbs 4:22 (KJV)

The Word of Yahweh produces cure. The Hebrew word translated health in our opening text is ‘marpe’ meaning a medicine, remedy or healing. From Proverbs 4:20 we see that it was Yahweh’s Word that brings about this medicine to all their flesh. When you find the Word, you have found medicine. The Word brings cure to anywhere it arrives. The Word is like the river in Ezekiel 47:9, “And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh.” The Word became flesh and dwelt among us in the person of Yahushua. Yahushua HaMashiach is also known as our Great Physician and that means through which He brings His cure is through His Word. Whatever he spoke to received life. Finding the Word and applying it to yourself is a guarantee for cure because its medicine does not fail. This Great Physician through the Word has preventive medicine. These are set of instructions from the Word that if adhered to, would cause you to walk in divine health all the days of your life. Preventive medicine is how the Lord keeps your body from getting sick in the first place. In preventive medicine, the Lord Yahushua exposes you to the knowledge that will help you maintain your body which is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Most people are sick today not because of the devil but because of ignorance of what to eat and not to eat. To some the cream they are applying in their body has the capacity to cause them cancer tomorrow. Cases of diabetes is almost apart from where it is hereditary a function of what you put into your mouth in terms of food and drinks. Hosea 4:6 says that my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. As a new creation in HaMashiach, Satan has no power and authority over your health but ignorance can undo you. So avail yourself of the information the Great Physician by the Holy Spirit living in you is exposing you to.
