FASTING EXAMPLES (4): EZRA’S FAST

Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.
Ezra 8:21 (KJV)

Have you been in a situation that because of your faith in Adonai and how much you have represented Him and His power you were faced with a situation where the power of that your God must be seen or you are put to shame. This was actually the situation that Ezra found himself. Adonai gave Ezra favour before Artaxerxes the king of Babylon and the king was sending him to Judea. In the presence of the king, Ezra had boasted of the might of Adonai to keep those that trust Him, and because of that, he couldn’t ask the king for security escorts. So, they were left to themselves and the wolves on the way to Judea and except Adonai intervenes it would be impossible to reach Judea alive with all the nations along the way and their hatred for the Jews. What was Ezra’s response to this dilemma? He proclaimed a fast. It is not clear how many days Ezra’s fast lasted. Ezra’s fast is another example of group fast that yielded massive results. This fast has also validated what Yahushua said that “this kind” answers to only fasting and prayer.

We are seeing different situations that have confronted people and how they have responded in fasting to secure interventions from on high. Principles are best communicated through examples. The principle of fasting has been validated through numerous examples of scriptures of real threatening situations that secured divine intervention. Your case is not any different. You too can secure divine intervention this season. You don’t need to cry and let the enemy see your tears. There is a weapon at your disposal and that is fasting. Push the plates aside for once. Sincerely, 40 days in 365 days of the year is not too much to secure an intervention and end the looming shame. You can intensify your prayers with a fast and the Lord is calling you today to come up hither where you can take delivery of whatever is your issue. We have heard testimonies of people with diverse sicknesses that entered into fast and before they came out, that sickness was dead and they walked free.

Ezra’s testimony was that of divine protection and preservation and it was secured through fasting. Beloved, thus says the Lord to you “come up hither”. Would you come? Would you declare a fast to facilitate the performance that you desire? The ball is in your court. Seeing we are living in the very tail end of the last days, what other way can we be prepared for the return of the Lord than to wait on Him in a fast? Remember that it is to those that look for him that He would appear the second time to. Hebrews 9:28 says, ‘So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.’ Are you ready for the rapture?

REMEMBER: Adonai is waiting to manifest His Almightiness to you.

PRAYER: Sweet Heavenly Father, thank You for Your word to me today. I ask for the grace to defy the flesh and take a long fast in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!

PROPHETIC RELEASE: I declare that grace is released upon you today to fast for a long period in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!
