FAITH IN WHAT (2)

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
Mark 11:22 (KJV)

Why should we have faith in Yahweh? It is important we get acquainted with a few here. We should have faith in Yahweh because:
1. Yahweh is love and love cannot fail or disappoint. 1 John 4:8 says, “He that loveth not knoweth not God? for God is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:8). Yahweh loves you and whatever demand he makes on you by His Word is absolutely for your benefit. Romans 8:32 (KJV) says, ‘He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?’ If Yahweh has already given you His best which is Yahushua in His love for you, then you can trust Him because there is nothing better than Yahushua.
2. Yahweh’s Word has been tried and tested seven times without fail. Psalms 12:6 (KJV) says, ‘The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.’ You can close your eyes and fall back in total reliance on the Word and be sure that you will never fall. The Word is more sure that your physical body – what you can see, feel and touch. That is why your faith must be in Yahweh.
3. Not one jot of what Yahweh has spoken before has failed. Joshua 21:45 (KJV) says, ‘There failed not ought of any good thing which the Lord had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.’ Evidence they say is the end of all argument. I Kings 8:15 (KJV) says, ‘And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, which spake with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,’ Yahweh has not failed anyone that believed Him in the past, so you can trust Him today.
4. You can only see the manifestation of Yahweh upon faith in Him. In John 11:40 (KJV), ‘Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?’ When her faith was confirmed, her brother was raised back from the dead (John 11:44). There is what we call the law of faith. Stay tuned on this devotional, we shall be discussing it in the course of the month.
5. Yahweh is not a man to lie. Numbers 23:19 (KJV) says, ‘God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?’ I know you are used to the disappointments of people but understand that Yahweh is not a man.

FAITH IN WHAT? (1)

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
Mark 11:22 (KJV)

We live in a world where you are encouraged to believe in yourself. Self-confidence or self-reliance is not to be reckoned with here. Our faith is in Yahweh, our Elohim, El-Shaddai, Adonai. Have faith in Yahweh our Master told us in our text. Come to the point of total confidence in Yahweh; total reliance in His Word and complete abandonment to His will and purpose for your life. Yahweh does not want you to trust in yourself. II Corinthians 1:9 (KJV) says, ‘But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:’ Yahweh want to be your sufficiency. II Corinthians 3:5 (KJV) says, ‘Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;’ All these self-confidence motivation is an attempt by Satan to bankrupt your faith, don’t subscribe to it. Jeremiah 10:23 (KJV) says, ‘O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.’

The challenge people have is that you cannot have faith in one you do not know. Psalms 9:10 says, “And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.” Beloved, the problem is not faith per se. The issue is that you don’t know Yahweh. It is only those that know Him that don’t only believe Him but put their trust in Him. Trust is even a step ahead of faith. It takes the accurate knowledge of Yahweh to have the faith that works. But when you know Him, then it becomes your delight and no other alternative than to trust Him. Beloved, it is faith in Yahweh that we are talking about this month. It is faith in the one with whom all things are possible.

In John 11 Lazarus died and when Yahushua came on the scene, he made a very insightful statement in verse 40, “Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?” Faith in Yahweh is what provokes His glory to be made manifest. Your faith in Yahweh must be confirmed first before you can experience a change of story. Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Faith in Yahweh is a prerequisite for coming to Him in the first place.

WHAT IS YAHWEH’S REST?

WHAT IS YAHWEH’S REST?

“Therefore I swore in My anger, Truly they shall not enter into My rest.”
Psalms 95:11 [NASB]

Yahweh promised Canaan to Abraham as an inheritance for him and his descendents forever. Genesis 15:18-21 explained this covenant “18 In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: 19 The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites, 20 And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims, 21 And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.” At the fullness of time, He raised Moses to take Israel to Canaan from Egypt. In that journey, some people were sent to spy out the land and they brought an evil report to the camp. In Numbers 13:28-33 we read about the report they brought back. Numbers 14:1-4 explained the response of the camp to the report. The camp of Israel in the wilderness believed the report of the ten spies which declared that they be not able to take the land because the inhabitance of the land are stronger than they. This was they saying in essence that the Yahweh that brought them out of Egypt with such display of power is not able to take them into the land He promised to them. This disbelief in Yahweh and His power angered Him so much that He vowed on them, “22 Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice; 23 Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:” (Numbers 14:22-23).

Now, this case of Israel may be applied to those of their posterity that lived in David’s time, when this psalm was penned; let them hear Yahweh’s voice, and not harden their hearts as their fathers did, lest, if they were stiffnecked like them, Yahweh should be provoked to forbid them the privileges of his temple at Jerusalem, of which he had said, “This is my rest.“ The rest of Yahweh is the place of His presence. It is the place He had put His name forever. The rest of Yahweh is the promised land.

Yahushua HaMashiach is the place which we have come. The Ruach HaKadosh brings us the presence of the Father in Yahushua.

JULY 2022 PROPHETIC FOCUS

JULY 2022 PROPHETIC FOCUS

For we who have believed enter that rest, …
Hebrews 4:3 [NET]

Happy New Month Beloved! Welcome to the month of July of our year of STILL WATERS, GREEN PASTURES 2022. The Still Waters is a place of rest and refreshing. Since the year started, we have been exploring different factors that engender existence in the Still Waters and Green Pastures. We just finished a thorough exposition on the Yahweh-kind of love which settled any issue that might be confronting me now causing me to function in the Still Waters and Green Pastures. We believe that you have been completely immersed in that Word on Love. No matter your level of spirituality, the character of the Yahweh-kind of love will humble you. It is no doubt you are doing well but understanding the character of the Yahweh-kind of love opens you up to a whole new horizon that you see yourself as lacking. I don’t know about anyone else, but sometimes, it looks like to me as if I have not yet started because I see myself so far away from some of the characteristics of the Yahweh’s love. I must say of a truth, there is a new spiritual awakening for me from the Word of June 2022 on the Yahweh-kind of love and I believe that it is same for anyone that followed the devotional and the Word shared in Church all of which are online on our website and accessible for free. May that awakening stay with each one of us forever and increasing in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!

The Still Waters is a place of rest and rest is a function of faith. This is the disconnect in the lives of so many believers today. Hearing the Word is not enough. Hebrews 4:2 told us of people that heard the Word but it never profited them “For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.” The instrument that brings us to rest is called faith. Without faith, you can sing rest forever and never experience it. Hebrews 4:3 says, “For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.” Faith is the launcher into the rest of Yahweh. No matter what your matter is today, there remains a rest for you in that matter. But that rest is a function of faith. If rest is your desire in any sphere of life, faith is a must for you. The need for rest in life and destiny cannot be overestimated. Without rest, you would develop all manner of health issues. Without rest, you cannot function in the best of your mental capacity and capability. Without rest, life is utterly meaningless. Rest in time and ultimately in eternity is a function of faith in the Word of Yahweh.

Our prophetic focus for the Month of July 2022 therefore, is “I FUNCTION IN REST BY FAITH IN THIS STILL WATERS, GREEN PASTURES EXPERIENCE” (HEBREWS 4:3).

THANKFUL FOR JUNE 2022

Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
Colossians 2:7 [KJV]

Here at #WordForTodayDevotional, we devote the last day of every month as our thanksgiving day where we celebrate the grace of Yahweh that has seen us through the month. We do not take for granted the mercies of the Lord from the first of the month to today the thirtieth. It has been a torrent of the word of Love and we owe the Lord thanks. We have returned today to thank Him for the success of the month of June 2022. In case, you cannot see anything to thank Yahweh for – I know such a person will not be reading this now; let me remind you that not all that saw 1st of June 2022 are alive today to see the 30th June 2022. It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed (see Lamentations 3:22). We owe Him thanks today. Also, our attitude of thanksgiving determines, what the next month will be for us. Let us explore more on the benefits of thanksgiving.

Our text says that we should abound with thanksgiving. The Greek word translated abounding is ‘perisseuo’ meaning to superabound (in quantity or quality), be in excess, be superfluous; also (transitively) to cause to superabound or excel. You see that the English word abounding did not capture the Greek rendering. What the text is saying in essence is that we should superabound with quality and quantity thanksgiving, and allow our thanksgiving to be in excess. This is beyond theology brethren. The Lord wants us to superabound with quality thanksgiving and quantity thanksgiving. We are not just expected to thank Yahweh but to superabound with quantity thanksgiving. Thank Adonai until it is in excess. Let us think a bit. How many hours can you thank Yahweh today that will be in excess and will be of highest quality. You see that thanksgiving is not something to be mindless about.

DEPLOYING YAHWEH’S LOVE IN PARENTING

DEPLOYING YAHWEH’S LOVE IN PARENTING

That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
Titus 2:4 (KJV)

If a husband and wife are operating the Yahweh-kind of love, then it will flow naturally to the children. The Yahweh-kind of love is very crucial in marriage because the aim of the assault of Satan on the marriage is not the husband and wife per se but the offspring of that union – the children. Both Yahweh and Satan are keenly interested in the children of the marriage. Malachi 2:15 says, “And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.” So our Father Yahweh is interested in the marriage because He is seeking a godly seed. Satan is also seeking to destroy that godly seed of the woman. If Satan can’t get the husband or wife, he will seek to scatter their marriage so that he can destroy the future of the seed. When marriage dies, the children’s future have a 98% of being corrupted by the harsh society environment and influence. Revelation 12:17 says, “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Satan went forth to make war with the seed of the woman. Beloved, there is a war currently going on. Satan wants to destroy your marriage in order to destroy your children. This is the motivation that must drive you to love your spouse with the Yahweh-kind of love. Then extend that love to the children.

CHARACTERISTICS OF YAHWEH’S KIND OF LOVE (12): HOPES ALL THINGS

CHARACTERISTICS OF YAHWEH’S KIND OF LOVE (12): HOPES ALL THINGS

… its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, …
I Corinthians 13:7 (AMPC)

This word we see translated as “hope” is the Greek word “elpizo” which means to expect or confide. The word is translated in other places as “trust” and “expect.” It is the confident expectation of something to come. To “hope all things” means to confidently expect the long-term spiritual growth of our fellow brothers and sisters in HaMashiach; to expect that their lives will turn out right; to expect that their situation will change for the better; to treat them according to that beautiful future you expect. To “hope all things” means that we never consider another to be a lost cause. It means that we never give up on each other, even when we see one another fall and fall hard.

When we fail to “hope all things” we consider failures of sin to be a final judgment. It is betrayed in quickness to write the other off. We have critical notions of others and when they meet our expectations of their weakness, we cross them off our list and push them out of our lives. When we fail to “hope all things” we separate. We separate because we feel we have to move on, as if the offender has fallen out of our boat and won’t recover. And what is most awful about losing hope is that it can be so silent. We usually won’t even bother to confront them in hopes of producing repentance, simply receding from them, quietly, withdrawing from their orbit. We even convince ourselves that we are actually “covering their sin in love” by staying quiet.

We must come to that point where we expect the best of them, possessing an optimistic view of how things will turn out, in this life or, more importantly, in eternity. We must recognize ‘…that all things work together for good to those who love Yahweh, to those who are the called according to His purpose.’ (see Romans 8:28 KJV). This kind of attitude is tested when troubles arise, but possessing this kind of love means we will continue to confidently expect the best of the person we love. It also means we will do what we can to help that positive and Godly outcome become a reality. This can sometimes be a challenge. Sometimes circumstances develop or decisions are made that make it difficult to maintain an optimistic expectation for someone. That is where we need to remember that the essence of this love is the commitment to the best interest of the one we love. It is also important to remember how often we are on the other side, making decisions that make it difficult for someone who loves us to maintain that confidence in us.

REMEMBER: The Yahweh-kind of love expects the best future and works to help actualize it for people in the person’s world.

PRAYER: Dear Father, thank you for the love shed abroad in my spirit by the Holy Spirit. I ask for the grace to see the people in my world with your eyes and to treat them with love even when they are not getting it right in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!

CHARACTERISTICS OF YAHWEH’S KIND OF LOVE (11): BELIEVES ALL THINGS

CHARACTERISTICS OF YAHWEH’S KIND OF LOVE (11): BELIEVES ALL THINGS

… is ever ready to believe the best of every person, …
1 Corinthians 13:7 (AMPC)

The word translated as “believes” in the second phrase is “pisteu.” The New Testament Greek Lexicon meaning for the word includes: to think to be true, to be persuaded of, to credit, place confidence in, to trust, etc. Once again, Apostle Paul is speaking about our relationships within the body of HaMashiach. Apostle Paul is not calling for a foolish gullibility. However, being guarded against the possibility of being taken advantage of is not correct either. Obviously, this does not mean that we are to lose all discernment when we love someone. In fact, Apostle Paul prays for the Philippians to have a love characterized by discernment. In Philippians 1:9-10 (NKJV), we read, ‘And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, 10 that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ,’

So what does “believes all things” mean? It means that we are to have confidence in the one we love, to trust them and to always give them the benefit of the doubt, believing the best of them. It is a relationship that is not filled with suspicion, but trust. We use an expression today, “innocent until proven guilty,” that can apply here. Imagine what that does for a person to be loved like that, to be trusted and believed, to know that they have someone’s confidence. Does this mean that we leave ourselves vulnerable to being disappointed or betrayed? Yes. However, the benefits of a love like this far outweigh the risks. Knowing that I am loved like this inspires me to live up to it.

CHARACTERISTICS OF YAHWEH’S KIND OF LOVE (10): BEARS ALL THINGS

CHARACTERISTICS OF YAHWEH’S KIND OF LOVE (10): BEARS ALL THINGS

Love bears up under anything and everything that comes …
1 Corinthians 13:6 (AMPC)

The more I try to comprehend this love, the more I am amazed and feel like I have not even started at all. The acid test of spirituality is walking in the Yahweh-kind of love. The Yahweh-kind of love bears up under anything and everything that comes. The Greek word rendered bears up or beareth (KJV) is stego. It means to cover and is related to the word indicating a roof, or a covering that offers protection from the elements. In his commentary, W. E. Vine explains that this covering either supports what is placed upon it, or covers what is placed underneath it. Love acts in both ways in bearing all things. The implications of this is awe-striking.

CHARACTERISTICS OF YAHWEH’S KIND OF LOVE (9): DO NOT REJOICE AT INJUSTICE OR UNRIGHTEOUSNESS

CHARACTERISTICS OF YAHWEH’S KIND OF LOVE (9): DO NOT REJOICE AT INJUSTICE OR UNRIGHTEOUSNESS

It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.
I Corinthians 13:6 (AMP)

How our lives and relationships will be transformed if we can just start manifesting the Yahweh-kind of love. This love does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness. What does it mean to not rejoice in iniquity? The word “rejoiceth” in the phrase “rejoiceth not in iniquity” according to KJV is translated from the Greek word chairō, which means to rejoice, to be glad, to be delighted or pleased. Think about when you are delighted in something. You may dwell on it or talk about it—maybe you even make a big deal about it or magnify it. You rejoice in it, and it makes you glad. When we manifest the love of Yahweh, we absolutely don’t rejoice in unrighteousness. We assuredly don’t take pleasure in wrongdoing. And we most certainly don’t gloat over other men’s sins nor show gladness when others do wrong or fail.

You probably have seen or heard something happened to someone and you responded “Yes, he/she deserves it” maybe because of the way they have treated you in the past. That kind of response is not the Yahweh-kind of love’s way. Injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere. When someone is unjustly treated and you are happy because the person has also treated you unjustly, you are not manifesting the Yahweh-kind of love. When someone is unjustly treated, no matter what the person has done, stand against the injustice because the Yahweh-kind of love does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness. No matter how “deserving” it may seem for someone to “get what’s coming to them”, that’s not what love would do. Love does not avenge itself. Love is not secretly glad someone was injured or hurt or paid back for their wrongs.
