    TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN SOUL-WINNING (4): LIVE A CLEAN LIFE

    Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
    II Timothy 3:19 (KJV)

    This is one factor that impede the commitment of many to the gospel – a life of unrighteousness and iniquity.  Soul-winning demands that the participant is delivered from a lifestyle of sin before he/she can qualify to be used to deliver others.  Soul-winning is bearing the everlasting gospel to the next person and it is required that those that bear the vessels of the Lord must be holy and clean.  Isaiah 52:11 admonishes, ‘Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the Lord.’  You cannot be meddling with sin and still be free to carry the everlasting gospel. The gospel is holy and uncleanness disqualifies one from bearing it.  Living in sin and preaching the gospel is hypocrisy.  If what you are preaching is effective, it should save you first.  If the gospel you are preaching has not saved you, it would be impotent to effect any change in the life of the person you are witnessing to.  Forever, guilt cannot allow you to be effective and successful in the gospel that is why you must clean up.  No matter how good an apple is, if you handle that apple with a hand that you used to apply sniper (poison), that apple will be contaminated and can cause death.  It is a good apple, the problem is the person bearing it. Same is true about the gospel.

    The gospel is not effective in some quarters today is not the fault of the gospel but that of those who are bearing it in unrighteousness.  You can deceive man but you cannot deceive God. There is power in the gospel but it cannot flow when the bearer is laden with sin and iniquity. For the power of the gospel to flow, you must allow it to affect your life first be obeying the gospel yourself before running with it.  Clean up!  Clean up!  Time is running out!  Don’t waste your life in sin.  The worse deception is self-deception.  The gospel has foundation (standard) for you to handle it and that is walking in holiness.  In the Old Testament, you approach the holy things with sin, you drop dead instantly.  We are in era of grace where God is giving you countless opportunities to repent but don’t take God for granted so you don’t end grounded.

    Leviticus 10:3 says, ‘Then Moses said to Aaron, “It is what the Lord spoke, saying, ‘By those who come near Me I will be treated as holy, And before all the people I will honored.’” ‘  We are living in a generation that has no regard for God – a generation that know not the Lord.  They are not aware that sin can shut one down and lower the person to early grave that is why they are playing with unrighteousness.  A Christian is a king-priest.  As a priest, you are expected to stand before God on behalf of the people and before the people on behalf of God.  How can you stand before a holy God and be messing with sin?  This is not that you made a mistake but you are living and enjoying iniquity.  I am afraid for you because I know this God does not take rubbish.  That you are not yet dead like it happened to Nadab and Abihu should not make you think that God is a fool or is condoning with your lifestyle of iniquity.  Repent today and cut off sin from your life.  Living in sin is a choice for the believer.  You can help yourself because the power is in you.  You are your own worst enemy.  You are stopping divinity from making you a show piece of the gospel by your lifestyle.  Today is still an uptime.  Selah!

    REMEMBER:  Those that bear the vessels of the Lord must be holy.

    PRAYER:  Dear Father, thank You for your word to me today.  I am sorry and repent from every known sin in my life. I ask that the blood of Jesus watches me.  I cut off sin in my life from this day in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

    PROPHETIC RELEASE:  That thing that has sapped your spiritual power is cursed today in your life in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

    TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN SOUL-WINNING (3): BE COMMITTED

    And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
    Luke 9:62 (KJV)

    It was Che Guevara who said, “We cannot be sure of having something to live for unless we are willing to die for it.”  Martin Luther King Jr. says, ‘A man who does not have something for which he is willing to die is not fit to live.’  Until you are willing to die for something you are not worthy to live.  We are talking about commitment to the gospel.  Commitment is the trait of sincere and steadfast fixity of purpose.  It means that you focus on a purpose steadfastly no matter what comes.  To be successful in soul-winning you must be committed.  It would take your time to pray, preach, follow-up and your money too.  Everything you have got must be involved in order to see success.  First, recognize that this is kingdom business.  Like every other business, you must plan, budget, execute, evaluate outcome and restrategize.  Which group of people are you aiming at reaching out to?  The group will inform your strategy.  For instance, if you are reaching out to teenagers, then you will have to think and behave like a teenager yourself to be able to reach them.  You must be very patient and a good listener.  No matter the group you are reaching out to, commitment is a must.  If you give the gospel 30% of the attention you give your career/business, you will see such result that will amaze you.  The results that have eluded us is only a function of lack of commitment on our part.

    Interestingly God does not do something with someone that is not committed.  Our text says that no one that puts his hands on the plough and looking back is fit for the kingdom of God. You are disqualified immediately it is notified that you are showing signs of no commitment. Noncommital is a disqualification criterion in the army of the Lord.  You must be committed not in word but indeed.  Until your commitment is certified, success as a soul-winner is not in view.  See the kind of commitment that makes people a success in the harvest field, listen to Apostle Paul, ‘For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!’ (I Corinthians 9:16).  Commitment is placing necessity upon yourself in regards to the gospel.  It is giving yourself a target of souls that must be established in Church and driving yourself to achieve it.  Most of our jobs are target-driven, and we strive to meet and exceed our targets in our various jobs but can we just be target-driven in regards to souls?

    It is commitment that is driving results.  If we are going to be results-oriented in our soul-winning task, we must be target-driven and commitment conscious.  Beloved, how can you be committed today?  How can you improve on your level of commitment to the gospel today?  Time is running out.  There is an urgency in the Spirit to rush in and preserve the harvest from decadence.  Will you respond?  Will you carry-on as if there is nothing?  This is your opportunity to see divinity manifest in your affairs as you commit to Kingdom expansion business.  That prayer point that has been on your mind for a long time now, can be tackled in a flash by the power of God if you can just commit to the heart of the Father in these last hours of the age.  Selah!

    REMEMBER:  Until there is commitment, there can be no results.

    CONFESSION:   Sweet Heavenly Father, thank you for making my life beautiful giving me an opportunity to be your witness to the peoples of the world.  I receive grace to be more committed in my primary assignment. I up my game from today and go wide for the gospel. So help me God!  Glory!

    PROPHETIC RELEASE:  Everything contending with your commitment to the gospel is cursed today in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

    TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN SOUL-WINNING (2): MORTIFY SELF

    But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
    I Corinthians 9:27  (KJV)

    The greatest enemy of the recreated human spirit is not the devil.  When you were born again, you had dominion over the devil and his gates of hell.  The greatest enemy of the born again person is his/her flesh.  Self is the greatest enemy of the born again person.  There are three forces at war in the life of the born again person: the Holy Spirit, the Flesh and the devil.  The flesh is always cooperating with the devil that is why you must put it under.  Self talks about the cravings of the sinful nature.  To be useful and usable in the hands of the Lord of the harvest, you must mortify your self.  You must come to the altar of burnt offering and lay your body at the altar as a living sacrifice.  The reason is that you must be salted with fire to be useful in the hand the Lord (see Mark 9:49).  If you are still alive in your flesh, you are not useful and usable for the work of the gospel.  With your self still alive, you cannot represent the Lord and the gospel in your lifestyle which is the most primary form of evangelism.  A self that is still alive is full of pride, easily angry, boostful and self-centered.

    Galatians 5:19-21 lists the activities of the works of the flesh, ‘19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,  20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,  21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.’  You see why we said that until Mr Flesh dies, you are not ready for kingdom business.  The need for people to be enlisted into the harvest field is enormous but just anybody will not qualify to be enlisted.  You can now better understand why it is not everybody that comes to Church understands the soul-winning business.  So many are around, but very few are qualify to be enlisted.  These days many are coming to Church for so many reasons; some to belong and answer that they are Christians, others just to get God to answer their prayer, etc.  The flesh must be dead and Mr Self must be laid on the altar.  It is as serious as that.

    Beloved, do you understand what it means to mortify the flesh now?  It is to do away with the works of the flesh mentioned in Galatians 5:17-21.  Lay yourself at the prayer altar and petition God until there is no trace of any of them in your life.  The truth is that the sin nature died the day you got saved, the problem is that at lot of us have not renewed our mind to put these things off.  Stay in the word and renew your mind and they will wear off and your life will conform to the righteousness of God in your recreated human spirit.  In the place of word bath, your strength is renewed to manifest the nature of righteousness in your spirit.  Because the Word is Spirit and Life, the more Word you take into your spirit, the more the fruit of the spirit will reveal and manifest in your character.  Get into the Word and lay the flesh and its works to rest permanently.  Shalom!

    REMEMBER:  Everybody must be salted by fire to be usable in the harvest field.

    PRAYER:  Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for your word to me today.  I ask for the grace to read, study and meditate on the Word in order to mortify self in my life in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

    TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN SOUL-WINNING (1): ASSURANCE OF SALVATION

    The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,
    Romans 8:16  (NASB)

    From today to the next couple of days, we shall be examining what it takes to be successful at soul-winning.  There are certain ingredients that must be in place for us to make a success at our soul-winning drive.  Today we shall be considering assurance of salvation.  Assurance of salvation means that you are sure of your salvation.  The person that must be successful in winning souls must be very sure that he/she is genuinely saved.  You must have had that encounter yourself.  There is no substitute to that.  You are called to be a witness.  How can you witness to what you never saw or knew?  Being a witness presupposes that you have experience of what you are talking about.  You can never appear in court as a witness of what you never knew anything about.  The soul-winner must be a person that had encountered the Lord Jesus genuinely with evidence of a changed life.  Like the blind man in John 9, your testimony should be “I was blind but now I see.  I used to do this and that, but now I do not.”  One of the outstanding thing about Apostle Paul was his conversion testimony.  It was so profound that at the slightest chance he recounts how he became the man he had become.

    You may be born in church, that does not equal to being saved.  That your parents are Christians does not mean that you are saved.  Salvation is a personal experience. It is an encounter that does not leave you the same.  Your salvation must be traceable to a day that you heard the Word and answered an altar call, or a time when you surrendered to Christ Jesus on your own.  Are you baptized since you believed?  It is very important that you are baptized in water.  Do you have the witness of the Holy Spirit in your spirit that you are a child of God.  We are stressing this because it is the foundation of the person that will be successful in soul-winning.  Until you are saved, you cannot become an instrument to saving others.  Trying it is getting the experience of the sons of one Sceva.  In Acts 19:13-17, some boys started preaching and casting out demons even though these boys have not even known the Lord themselves.  Then the devil leaped on them and dealt with them until they ran out naked.  It is dangerous to function in the warfare of soul-winning without being genuinely saved yourself.  The reason is that soul-winning is warfare.  It is confrontation with the gates of hell.  If you are not in Christ, you are still in the camp of the devil, then how can you dare to try to lead a fellow captive to freedom?

    Being genuinely born again has no substitute if you are going to be useful in the hands of the Lord.  Kingdom business are only the preserve of kingdom men and women.  No stranger has a lot in it.  If you are reading this today and you are not sure of your salvation then please pray this with all your heart thus: “Dear Father, I repent of my sins and believe in Jesus Christ that He came, died for my sins and rose again to give me life.  Now, I confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and Saviour of my life.  Lord Jesus I surrender my heart to you today and forever.  Through You Lord and in Your name I have eternal life; I am born again.  Thank you Lord for saving my soul.  Now I am a child of God.  Praise the Lord! Hallelujah!”  Congratulations!

    REMEMBER:  Soul-winning is warfare and it is unsafe for the unsaved person to engage in it.

    CONFESSION:   I am born of God.  Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  I triumph everywhere I go for the gospel.  Glory be God!

    PROPHETIC RELEASE:  As you ensure your foundation, you shall be fruitful in the work of the gospel in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

    WAYS YOU CAN GET INVOLVED (6): LIVING OUT THE GOSPEL

    Then, even if some are disobedient to the word, they will be won over without a word by the way you live, when they see your pure and reverent conduct.
    I Peter 3:1B-2 (KJV)

    Everyone of us has the privilege to live out the gospel in our day to day operations.  With most people that are close to you, lifestyle evangelism is normally the most effective.  It is normally a contradiction when you see one that is vocal about the gospel but whose lifestyle is directly the opposite.  There is nothing that turns off children than to see parents that proclaim the gospel in words but their lifestyle at home is opposite the gospel.  This is the reason so many children from Christian homes turn away from the Lord as soon as they left home.  You have parents that are Christians in the Church but devils at home.  No matter what you tell children, what they see you doing is what they are going to imbibe.  Lifestyle evangelism is so critical at home, office and with close associates.  People that relate with you on a daily bases will be drawn to the Lord more with your lifestyle than with words.  When you have shown Christ-like character, it is easy to preach and be heard.  So as a Christian, your lifestyle is critical to the success of the gospel in your sphere of contacts.  Your colleagues are watching you.  You cannot take bribe, lie and cheat and then turn around to preach to them about Jesus.  It is not possible to take such a person seriously.  You will regard the person as a religious fanatics.  But when someone has challenged you with a solid life of integrity, and the person talks to you about Jesus, you are quick to listen.

    There is a quote “preach the gospel at all times and when (if, where) necessary, use words” usually attributed to St Francis of Assisi.  The truth is that St. Francis of Assisi never said those words.  What came closest to that was in his Rule of 1221 on how Franciscans should practice their preaching: “No brother should preach contrary to the form and regulations of the holy Church nor unless he has been permitted by his minister … All the Friars … should preach by their deeds.”  What we are saying today is that at all times that you live out your life, you are preaching the gospel whether you know it or not.  You are either marketing or demarketing the gospel.  Someone will either subscribe or reject the gospel because of the way you are living.  In our text, the wife, was encouraged to live in such a way that even if the husband does not obey the gospel, he will be won by observing the godly lifestyle of his wife.

    Beloved, what kind of gospel are you preaching with your lifestyle in your office or business centre?  As people encounter you on a daily basis, what impression is being made on their minds about the gospel, about the Lord Jesus?  We must live to preach the gospel.  That is to say that the way we live, must be such that will help us explain the gospel more to those that are observing us.  By all means you are involved in the spread of the gospel, the least way being lifestyle evangelism.  Take responsibility to represent the gospel in all you do.  We are saved to live for the glory of God and help others find their salvation too.  Shalom!

    REMEMBER:  Everybody is involved in lifestyle evangelism.  Do it well!

    PRAYER:   Sweet Heavenly Father, thank You for Your word to me today.  I ask for grace to life to please you and to show the light of the glorious gospel to my family, friends, colleagues, and those I meet on a day to day basis in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

    PROPHETIC RELEASE:  I declare that your life shall bring glory and help your family, friends and colleagues to find salvation in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

    WAYS YOU CAN GET INVOLVED (5): GIVE TO THE GOSPEL

    But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
    II Corinthians 9:6  (KJV)

    The Lord Jesus commanded us to preach the gospel to all the peoples of the nations of the earth.  Nobody is exempted from hearing the gospel.  By all means, we are to reach everyone with the gospel.  The gospel is a very capital intensive enterprise.  It require money to do even the least venture in respect to the spreading of the gospel.  As we reach each person, materials to help them grow in Christ are made available which include tracts, handbills, booklets, pamphlets, books etc.  Outreaches require public address systems, musical equipment, medical aids and equipment, etc.  In the missions field, there is need to build churches, build houses for missionaries, provide amenities for the community, build schools, hospitals, etc.  All these aforementioned are capital intensive projects that goes with preaching the gospel.  Even in the urban areas, when you go out for evangelism, you will be met with real-time needs of people that needs to be attended to.  In hospital evangelism, there are hospital bills of people who are well but couldn’t go home because they have not been able to come up with the hospital bill.  These are real life needs we see in the harvest field.  Beloved, God has put money into your hands not for you to live luxury lifestyle, but for the gospel.  There are places you cannot go because of your engagements that your money can send someone to preach there.  Missionaries are being sponsored.  There are people in the most remote areas of India, China, Saudi Arabia preaching the gospel as missionaries.  It takes huge finances to do all those.

    I want you to ask yourself questions today.  “What value is the money God has given me in relation to the gospel?  What am I doing now in terms of giving to the gospel, if at all I am giving, is it the best I can do?  Can I stand before the Lord now and beat my chest and say that what You gave me went to the gospel?”  Remember that whatever you think you have today, was given to you by the Lord Jesus.  I Corinthians 4:7 says, ‘For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?’  The money you are keeping for your grandchildren, you are stocking it for the anti-Christ.  There is no time and the best you can do for your children and upcoming generation is to serve the Lord and help them to do same.  Whatever resources God gave to this generation is to reach the people of this generation.  Stop the foolishness of banking for the next generation while souls are perishing.

    You are going to stand before the judgment seat of Christ and account for how you used the money He gave you for the gospel.  You have two cars but you still want to buy the latest but you cannot drop a million for missionary work.  What sort of a Christian are you?  You can buy very costly designer clothes but cannot contribute to build missionaries a hut over their heads. Everything you are acquiring on earth is just for the fire.  See what I Peter 3:10 says, ‘But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.’  If I say that it is foolishness to live for things, you may think it is an insult but how wise is it to live for only things that will burn up?  You will give account on how you spent every dime that came into your hands.  Selah!

    REMEMBER:  God is giving you money for the spread of the gospel.

    CONFESSION:   I am a big time financier of the gospel.  My money is talking in the high places of the gospel work.  Where I cannot go by reason of distance, I send my money to go for me.  By all means, I am preaching the gospel, with my lifestyle, words and in cash.  Glory be God!

    PROPHETIC RELEASE:  I decree that passion for the spread of the gospel engulf your heart from now in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

    To be challenged is not a sin but it is unscriptural to be defeated because in Christ, God causes you to triumph, therefore today, I decree your triumph over that infirmity in your body (II Cor.2:14). That mysterious sickness is cursed from its roots now. Wither and be gathered by the fan of the Holy Spirit and consumed now with unquenchable fire (Matt. 3:12). Today marks the expiry date of that Satanic oppression in your body. Satan get lost now, lose your grip now, your roots are consumed, go and come back no more in Jesus Name Amen!     WAYS YOU CAN GET INVOLVED (4): CHECK ON THE NEW CONVERT

    And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.
    Acts 15:36 (KJV)

    This is called follow-up.  Do you know you can collect the forms of those that gave their lives to Christ during Church services and go to follow them up?  Yes, you can do that.  There is need for every new convert to be established in the Lord Jesus and in the Church.  However, for that to happen, work has to be done on them.  Someone has to follow them up to ensure they attend Foundation Classes and get baptised in water.  You can come in to check on them and ensure that they are established.  You see the process of soul-winning is same like giving birth to a child.  Whereas it is one person that labours and births a child, it takes the community to train that child.  Same applies for each new convert.  Whereas it is one person that preached and get that person saved, it takes every member of the Church to see that the new convert is established in Church.  All hands must be on deck to ensure the soul is firmly established.  Follow-up is very critical to this establishment.

    Beloved you see just seating in Church and not doing anything to promote the Kingdom is gross irresponsibility.  There is always a way to be engaged if you want to.  Just coming to Church is not enough.  You are supposed to be a responsible member of the body of Christ.  The Lord is saying to you today that there is vacancies in the area of following up on the new converts and ensuring that they are established in the faith and in the Church.  Will you do something about that today?  Get down to the people that are in charge of recording and counseling new converts and request for forms to follow-up and ensure that within the week that person is followed-up and shown care and the way forward for him/her to go as a new convert.  In this new age of messaging apps everywhere, it is very easy to follow someone up.

    Matthew 6:33 is a major motivation for kingdom assignment because all that people are running after are added to you.  Are you unmarried and it seems that nothing is happening in that regards, then begin to seek the interest and expansion of the kingdom today and see how God will supernaturally settle you in marriage.  Whatever is your prayer request bows at the instance of genuinely going for the kingdom.  The most interesting things about the additions are that they cover those things that money can buy and those that money cannot buy.  Kingdom business covers you on what money fails on.  When money fails, Kingdom additions prevails.  It is a disservice you are doing to yourself not going full length for the interest of the kingdom which is souls.  Selah

    REMEMBER:  The Lord is recruiting people in the follow-up department.

    CONFESSION:  I am an heir of God and a joint-heir with Christ.  I have the interest of the kingdom at heart.  I am doing all within my power to see that no soul is wasted, be it follow-up.  I am a kingdom addict.  Thank You Lord!

    WAYS YOU CAN GET INVOLVED (3): COMPELLING INVITATION

    And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
    Luke 14:23 (KJV)

    To compel is to force somebody to do something.  There are people you will meet, that they themselves don’t know what they want.  It is reality.  Jesus Christ says compel them to come to my house that my house may be filled.  A compelling invitation to Christ and to the Church is an invitation that literally moves the invitees to the Church.  You pull off every form of resistance to that invitation.  “Oh I don’t have money to come”, you pull out cash and give for transport.  You do everything to necessitate compliance to the invitation.  Beloved, the Lord Jesus has said that you should compel them to come.  You should never attend Church without someone following you.  When you go to Church and see any empty seat, then you are reminded of the instruction to compel them to come so that my house may be filled.  Ensure that someone is going to church with you.  “Come and see Jesus today” and ensure that there is no objection to that invitation.  You have all it takes to make a compelling invitation.

    There is a person called Nathanael.  He does not just do something because others are doing it. He always has an answer to any invitation.  Then one day Philip found him and compelled him to come to Jesus (see John 1:45-51)  When Nathanael came to Jesus, he had an encounter of a lifetime.  He came to Jesus as an unbeliever but he left as a believer.  You don’t have to preach to the person in a compelling invitation but when the person shows up, they encounter Jesus in the service and leave changed people.  That was the case of Nathanael.  Philip found Nathanel, that means he sought out for him.  Beloved, there is someone you must seek out today for and offer them a compelling invitation.  Especially someone that benefits from you, from your resources is a candidate for a compelling invitation.  You are a born again person, everyone that benefits from your resources should be made to serve the Lord that gave the resources in the first place.

    There is something in this for you.  Going all out for the kingdom provokes divine additions to you in such dimension that nothing on earth can parallel.  No multinational, no firm can match the returns of going for the gospel.  The things that money can buy are added, more importantly the things that money cannot buy are also added to you.  How much do your colleagues pay to maintain their health?  You enjoy divine health going for the gospel both for you and all that are connected to you.  Peace like river is added to you.  Tension in your family becomes a thing of the past.  Beloved, it is wise to be on the go for the gospel.  Make it a goal never to appear in Church without someone following you to see Jesus Christ.  Shalom!

    REMEMBER:  Jesus Christ wants his house to be filled, so compel them to come in.

    CONFESSION:   I am born of God, an heir of God and a joint-heir with Christ.  I have a stake in the house of God.  I am committed to compelling multitudes to come in so the house of God will be filled.  Glory!
