TAKE RESPONSIBILITY (4):  EXERCISE YOUR SPIRIT

And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.
    Acts 24:16 (KJV)

They say, “all work and no play makes Jake a dull boy”.  As you feed yourself with the Word, you have to also exercise your spirit to gain spiritual muscle.  Just eating does not develop fitness, it may give you a strong immune system but not fitness.  Fitness in sports is a function of exercise.  As you begin to lift weights, your muscles begin to develop and balance for greater weights.  That is exactly how it is in the spiritual realm.  Eating ensures your wellness while exercise ensures your fitness.  I am going to discuss ways that we can exercise our spirit-man.  It is crucial that you take responsibility to keep your spirit-man fit because we are in war.  Life is a war ground. Most times, the battle doesn’t give notice to arrive at your doorstep.  Proverbs 24:10 says, “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.”  Spiritual exercise is for strength development against the day of adversity.  David was developing spiritual muscle in the field while he was tending to his father’s flocks.  He never foresaw Goliath.  So upon arriving on the battle scene and seeing Goliath, the giant in him just arose to confront.  That is how it walks.  As you exercise yourself, you develop to the extent that at your presence cancer dissolve, Satanic altars begin to catch fire, just at your presence.  You develop yourself so much that nothing can break your body, you can never practically be sick.  It is a function of rigorous spiritual exercise.

The first spiritual exercise I would discuss is prayer and fasting.  Prayer and fasting is spiritual exercise that develops at lot of things in your spiritual life.  One, it enhances your faith especially praying in tongues (see Jude 1:20).  Praying in the Spirit builds you as an edifice, strong, tall and formidable (see I Corinthians 14:4).  One of the best spiritual exercises is praying in tongues.  It imparts boldness and courage to dare anything.  Praying in tongues cuts off satanic interference in prayer because it is talking to God on a direct line that only God understands (see 1 Corinthians 14:2).  Praying in the Spirit sharpens your spiritual sensitivity which helps you get on key with divine direction and guidance.  Fasting is one of the best ways to deal with the flesh.  Fasting is one way to mortify the flesh.  God cannot do serious thing with someone that does not have a regular fasting schedules.  Check history, you will never find one person that has impacted his generation that is not given to regular fasting schedules.

For space, let us see the last one I will be discussing today.  We exercise our spirit by doing the Word.  That is exactly what our opening text is talking about.  It takes exercise to actually translate the Logos to attitudes.  As you study the Word, look for action points.  What can I practice today out of what I have seen in the Word today?  A very hot tempered man was cured by Ecclesiastes 7:9, “Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.” Whenever he is tempted to rage, he will remind himself that anger rests in the bosom of fools and he would say out loud, “I am not a fool, I am wiser than that”.  That is how to exercise yourself in the Word.  To take action based on the knowledge of the Word.  Always look out for action points when listening to message, reading the Bible or inspirational materials like this devotional.  As you identify actions steps, go ahead to implement them and see how glory will start oozing forth from your life.  It is so sweet!

REMEMBER:  You exercise your spirit by fasting and prayer, and doing the Word.

CONFESSION:  I am helped by the Holy Spirit to pray aright as I pray in the tongues of the Spirit.  I am empowered to wait on the Lord which renews my strength and strengthens me to do the Word. Glory be God!

PROPHETIC RELEASE:  Receive grace to discipline yourself to maintain regular fasting schedules in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

  • TAKE RESPONSIBILITY (2): PUT ON

    Created by Pastor Prince

    TAKE RESPONSIBILITY (2):  PUT ON

And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
    Colossians 3:10 (KJV)

The first “putting on” is putting on Christ.  This is the new birth experience.  When you surrender and confess Jesus as Lord and Saviour, you are baptized into Christ, you have put on Christ.  Can you imagine that you are putting on Christ as a garment.  That is powerful!  You have put on Christ. Galatians 3:27 says, ‘For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.’ It is not something that is going to happen some day, no, it has already happened if you are born again already.  The difference is that the new man (that is your recreated human spirit) is renewed in knowledge after the image of Christ.  So the more knowledge of Christ you encounter the more alive your spirit is to lay hold on the benefits of redemption.  No wonder after so many years of walking closely with the Lord Jesus, Apostle Paul was panting “that I may know Him” (see Philippians 3:10).  It is the knowledge of Christ that renews your spirit-man to be strong enough to rule and reign in life.  You have put on Christ at new birth but you must continue to strive to know Him in order to maintain your dominion over sin, Satan and sickness. The more of Him you know, the more power flows in and through you.

Another thing to put on is the whole armour of God.  Ephesians 6:10-18 enlightens us on what these armour are.  Why do we need to put on the whole armour of God?  Because we are in a battle and these armour ensure that you are not a casualty of the struggle.  We are not fighting to win the devil, he is already a defeated foe.  We are in a struggle to ensure that the Word of God is a reality in our lives.  The forces of darkness are fighting to hinder the Word from coming to pass in our lives by sowing doubt and unbelief but putting on the whole armour of God protects and defends us from these fiery darts.  For instance, when you gird your loins with truth, no deception of the devil will prosper in your life.  When the breastplate of righteousness is intact, no iniquity survives in your life.  You need to always have your armour on so as not to fall prey to the powers of darkness.

You also need to put on the fruit of the spirit.  Colossians 3:12 says, ‘Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;’  To put on the fruit of the spirit means to give them expression in your daily interactions.  Beginning with your family members, let mercy flow to them and to others.  Be kind to people in your action and in your words.  Be humble and regard others.  When you begin to give these fruit expression, you will be fruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (see II Peter 1:3-10).  That is when people can say, “I want to follow you to your God”, because they can clearly see that there is something about you.  Take responsibility today and go for the knowledge of Christ as you renew your mind, as you put on the whole armour of God and as you give expression to the fruit of the spirit. Shalom!

REMEMBER:  You need to take responsibility in renewing your mind by the Word of God, putting on the whole armour of God and giving expression to the fruit of the spirit.

PRAYER:  Dear Father, thank you for the revelation of your word.  I receive grace to take responsibility to renew my mind daily by the Word, to put on the whole armour of God and to give expression to the fruit of the spirit in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

PROPHETIC RELEASE:  I curse laziness of any kind preventing you from taking responsibility today in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

  • TAKE RESPONSIBILITY (1): PUT OFF/LAY ASIDE/MORTIFY

    #WordForTodayDevotional

    Thursday September 24, 2020

    TAKE RESPONSIBILITY (1): PUT OFF/LAY ASIDE/MORTIFY

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Hebrews 12:1 (KJV)

Dealing with sin can be very simple and straightforward. as easy as putting it off like a garment. That is exactly the picture the Word pants about it. Colossians 3:8-9 puts it this way, ‘8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;’ Notice that it said “seeing that you have put off the old man with his deeds”. This has not become the present consciousness of so many, that is the reason for all the struggle with sin. You must recognize that you have put off the old man. It is the old man that is given to anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication and lies. But if you are born again, you have put off the old man. It is the new man that is on you now. But if you don’t acquaint your mind with this truth, it will go on behaving as if it is still the old man that is in-charge. Ephesians 4:21-23 drives home this point that if you have been taught by Jesus and that the truth is in you, you would not conform to the old man because the day you encountered Christ, the old man was blasted out. But you need to be renewed in the spirit of your mind in order to conform your body to this reality (Ephesians 4:23).

Our opening texts says that we should lay aside every weight and the sin which does so easily beset us. There maybe one thing or another that you have developed soft spot about which is a weight. Weights may not be sinful, but they hinder you from taking a flight spiritually to realms of power and impact. For instance, sleeping too much can be a weight. Inability to control how frequently you eat can be a weight on your prayer life. Whatever that is not allowing you to be disciplined spiritually is a weight, and you can lay it aside now. Just decide that their tenure of operation in your space is over and lay them aside. There are people that cannot shed an hour sleep to pray in the night. You know your own, deal with it now. Easily getting angry is a weight. Lay it aside now!

Then there are things to mortify when you see them trying to manifest in your life. Colossians 3:5 says, ‘Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:’ To mortify means to kill, to deaden, to subdue. The Word says to mortify your members. Those are the things that are in your body. That is what Apostle Paul was saying when he said that he kept his body under and brought it into subjection; he was subduing his body (see I Corinthians 9:27). To mortify means to destroy. You can destroy fornication, you can destroy lasciviousness, and all those sins that attach themselves to your body. You would have to be violent because there is no gentleman at the war-front. It is war going on in your members and you must approach it with some level of violence to win. I see you winning in Jesus Name Amen!

REMEMBER: You must be violent to defeat the operation of sin in your life.

CONFESSION: I am more than a conqueror in my battle against sin and iniquity because I live by the Word. I recognize and foil the deceptions of sin and the devil. I rule and reign over sin to the glory of God. Hallelujah!

PROPHETIC RELEASE: I decree that you are more than a conqueror. The last battle you lost to sin is the last in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

  • LAST DAYS SPIRITS (4): THE SPIRIT OF BONDAGE

LAST DAYS SPIRITS (4): THE SPIRIT OF BONDAGE

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
    Romans 8:15  (KJV)

The spirit of bondage just as its name suggests is the force behind addictions of all sorts, fear and afflictions of all sorts.  It is the spirit that seeks to stripe you of your liberty in Christ. Addictions to smoking, drinking, immoralities, etc are powered by this wicked spirit.  It drives one along pleasure until it conquers your will; until it takes delivery of control from you.  In my hearing, a young woman that was smoking when she sighted me said, “the spirit of smoking leave me alone” but she was still smoking.  Even though she knows that she is destroying her body and life, she is powerless to do anything about it.  The urge comes upon her like a force that she cannot control.  What a wicked spirit!  It starts with pleasure but on the basis of indulging the person, it binds one to the extent that the person practically loses control of actions.  It starts with a stick of cigarettes, then graduate to weeds then to madness.  It has the ability to waste a person’s income on beer in though his family is barely starving, it does not concern him.  The spirit of bondage is the undoing of so many today dashing promising futures to the mud. There is an addiction to corruption, and it is as a result of the spirit of bondage. It gets people addicted to evil without any feelings. But when Jesus was here on earth ministering, He went about healing many who were oppressed of the devil (Acts 10:38). Everything binding you to what you don’t want is a spirit of bondage, and you can be free from it now.

Another dimension of the operation of this spirit is fear.  In most cases, it is not a certain occurrence that kills people but fear.  For instance, some people in motor accidents died not because of the impact of the accident but because of fear.  Even though after examination, nothing happened to them that should warrant their death but fear handed them to death cheaply.  The spirit of bondage’s major tool is fear.  Hebrews 2:15 says, ‘And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.’  The fear of death is the killer more than disease, sickness and accidents.  The fear of the night, the fear of the darkness, etc has held at lot of people in bondage.  I break the hold of the spirit of fear in your life now in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

The spirit of bondage also holds people in affliction.  It binds people in afflictions of diverse manners.  There is also a spirit of bondage. It gets people tied down, locked up, and chained. This spirit is responsible for all manner of afflictions that people suffer. Talking about the woman that was under affliction for eighteen years in Luke 13:16, Jesus asked: And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound…be loosed from this bond…?  That’s the spirit of bondage. It is a spirit of captivity. It just captures you. For instance, how do you explain somebody who is coughing and yet smoking?  Meanwhile, he has been told at the hospital that he has tuberculosis. He doesn’t want to die, yet he keeps smoking and he is coughing as a result. He is under the arrest of the spirit of bondage, the spirit that causes addiction to evil.

REMEMBER:  The spirit of bondage is behind addictions, affliction and fear.

CONFESSION:  I have the Holy Spirit dwelling in me. No room for spirit of bondage.  Hallelujah!!!

PROPHETIC RELEASE:  The hold of the spirit of bondage is broken now in your life in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

  • LAST DAYS SPIRITS (3): THE SPIRIT OF DISOBEDIENCE

    #WordForTodayDevotional

    Saturday September 19, 2020

LAST DAYS SPIRITS (3):  THE SPIRIT OF DISOBEDIENCE

For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
    Colossians 3:6 (KJV)

The spirit of disobedience is what gives birth to the children of disobedience.  The spirit of disobedience is the spirit of rebellion against God.  It manifested in Eden in the life of Adam.  It is the spirit that makes people willing to go against what they know to do from the Word of God.  You know that God says not to do something but you go ahead to damn the consequences to do what you want to do.  The spirit of disobedience drives rebellion against the Lord.  It is the spirit of contempt.  It makes people scorn the Word of God.  It makes people reject the rule of the Word of God in their lives.  It instigates people to chat their own course away from what God says that they should do.  Like the prophet says, ‘For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.’ (Jeremiah 2:13).  The spirit of disobedience makes you hew out your own cisterns (way of doing things) which does not bring God glory. That wicked spirit worse operation is to make you to commonize the Word of God; to make you to scorn the Word of God.  Your transformation is only as you expose yourself to the mirror of the Word of God and genuinely observe it that you are changed (see II Corinthians 3:18).  But under the influence of the spirit of disobedience, you have no regard for the Word of God thereby making it almost impossible for you to experience change and release.

Titus 1:16 says, ‘They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.’  The spirit of disobedience condemns one to eternal damnation.  The one that profess to know God should be very careful and mindful not to fall into the snares of the activities of this wicked spirit.  The spirit of disobedience makes you reprobate concerning the faith.  It worked in Jannes and Jambres in II Timothy 3:8 making them resist the truth, corrupting their minds.  This spirit has strong influence in our social media cycles circulating information that makes the hearts of people callous concerning the faith.  You remember when the attack on certain aspect of the word of God was raging on social media.  Even people that know the truth were almost in some cases bullied to accept or consent to falsehood.  Resist the spirit of disobedience with your blood because the end of that operation is the flames of hell.

To overcome the operation of the spirit of disobedience, you must focus on the spiritual health of your spirit-man.  Develop your spirit in the Word of God.  Feed your spirit-man so well that it acclimatizes to prompt obedience to the Word of God.  You must control your mind, rather than letting it control you.  You control your mind by minding the information that you expose to your mind.  The mind operates on a garbage in garbage out basis.  What you expose your mind to determines what it will deliver to you. You must submit your body to God.  You must make your flesh respond to the Word of God.  You must rule over your body because until your obedience is complete you cannot avenge all disobedience of the devil and the gates of hell (II Corinthians 10:6).  You shall not fail!

REMEMBER:  The spirit of disobedience powers rebellion against the Word of God.

PRAYER:  Dear Father, thank You for your word to me today.  I cast out the spirit of disobedience out of my life.  I receive grace for delightsome and prompt obedience to the Word in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

PROPHETIC RELEASE:  I command the operation of the spirit of disobedience terminated in your life now in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

  • IT’S HAPPENING BEFORE YOUR EYES!

This could just be the last post you read from me. I didn’t say it is the last, I said it could be. Has it never occurred to you that you will go to work for the last time? You will go to church for the last time, you will attend the last wedding or traditional marriage. You will visit the bank or the ATM for the last time to make your very last withdrawal. You could be driving that car for the very last time. This post is a wake up call for all including me that everything that was written thousands of years ago in the Bible concerning the end of this age is happening on a daily basis to the letter. I don’t know about you but a lot of us Christians have been following world events through the pages of the bible. We see things that were prophesied happening exactly as it was written. 🚩The very recent signing of the peace treaty by Bahrain 🇧🇭 and UAE 🇦🇪 with Israel chilled me to the bones, as in, goosebumps came all over me. O! You didn’t know that the Bible talked about signing of peace treaties with Isreal by surrounding nations as the last sign before Jesus shows up? Bros, the end is nearer than you think. When you hear about the rapture of the church, I don’t know what comes into your mind, but let me use other words to make it clearer, it is the “rescue” or the “evacuation” of the first set of Christians before the world enters the next phase called THE GREAT TRIBULATION. Pause.Do you know that last week I woke up in the middle of the night with a strong urge about Angels. I was so restless that I got online and started downloading books about angels which I’m currently reading one. See, these beings are all ready and decked up for a massive invasion of earth. When you hear of Jesus coming with clouds and a host of angels on horses with chariots of fire, they are ready, it’s kick off time. How can you fail a test whose answers are on every page of a textbook you own? You did not read! And you are not a dunce! See, concerning the great tribulation the Bible says that the havoc that will be wrecked on this earth will be the worst this world has ever seen since its creation. That means every evil thing you’ve heard happened on this earth is child’s play compared to what is about to happen, hence the evacuation, or the rescue or the rapture of the church. When you read the bible, you see that the very words that came from the mouth of Jesus is highlighted in red. Meaning that it is quoted verbatim. Do you believe in Jesus? If He stopped you on the way and gave you a life-saving tip or a hint, will you take it seriously? If yes then here is one ““The Arrival of the Son of Man will take place in times like Noah’s. Before the great flood everyone was carrying on as usual, having a good time right up to the day Noah boarded the ark. They knew nothing—until the flood hit and swept everything away. The Son of Man’s Arrival will be like that: Two men will be working in the field—one will be taken, one left behind; two women will be grinding at the mill—one will be taken, one left behind. So stay awake, alert…”Things are happening around you and you are taking it as normal, you are carrying on as usual. Maybe you’re not even aware. Some of you scroll past any post that has to do with church or Jesus or the Gospel, it just irritates you. Satan gives you excuses not to read or give attention. The Bible says “Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.2 Corinthians 4:4 NLT”. Refuse to be among those whose minds have been confused by the devil. Some of you reading this actually on a regular basis have this nudging to mend your ways with God, to give your life to Christ but the influence of your friends won’t let you, your cartel won’t let you, your boos and baes won’t let you. Your goals and dreams and the deceptive power of riches won’t let you. Guess what, Jesus saw you long ago in this state of indecisionand said this also in red when you read the bible “If your right eye leads you to do wrong things, then you should take it out. You should throw it away. Yes, you will lose one eye. But it will be much worse if you keep your whole body and God throws you into hell . Also, if your right hand leads you to do wrong things, then you should cut it off. You should throw it away. You will lose one hand. But it will be much worse if you keep your body in one piece and go to hell”WHO OR WHAT ARE YOU CLINGING TO THAT IS WORTH GOING TO HELL FOR? Remember the popular Nicodemus? He knew that Jesus was the son of God but the influence of his fellow pharisees was strong on him, so he came to Jesus by night. I put it to some of you reading this that you know in your heart of hearts that you need Jesus, cut off those your right hand pallies and give your life to christ now that you have time. I mean now, find your way o, don’t wait till Sunday, don’t wait till tomorrow. If you are with somone on the bed now and you’re reading this, get up like Nicodemus and get born again. Don’t be left behind. You can even call me to lead you to Christ. Inbox me. I love you for this decision you are about to take.DM now!!

  • SANCTIFICATION IS GOD’S WILL FOR YOU

    #WordForTodayDevotional

    Wednesday September 16, 2020

SANCTIFICATION IS GOD’S WILL FOR YOU

    3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: 4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;
    I Thessalonians 4:3-4 (KJV)

Many times we are perplexed about knowing the will of God. We want to know what the will of God is for our lives. The problem is that we are looking for the spectacular while all the time neglecting the supernatural. The word of God is supernatural even though it may not be spectacular for most. The Will of God is not strange and also not mysterious. It is not in heaven so that you would wonder how to get it, it is the Word of God. Taking the Word of God and living by it is the Will of God for you. The text we are considering today is one of those that in clear terms stipulated what the Will of God is for you. Sanctification in our text today is the Greek word “hagiasmos”. It is same word translated holiness. It means to set apart, to consecrate, to purify. The will of God for you is that you are separated unto Him. To be separated unto God is to come into an emotional relationship with the Lord Jesus where He becomes the first and foremost consideration in everything that relates to you. It is to come into a love relationship with the Lord. Firstly, it means that you have received the gift of righteousness. Secondly, that you have consciously made the decision to separate your physical body for the use of the Lord only.

“That you should know how to possess your vessel in sanctification and honour”. In this context of I Thessalonians 4:4, vessel is talking about the wife and because the man and his wife are one, it is also talking about his body. It says that you should abstain from fornication. That means that you should know how to take control of your body in such a manner that it is not given to fornication but to the Lord. This is saying that we should be separate bodily unto the Lord. Come to the point that you have settled it in your heart as a result of your love for the Lord that your body is completely for the glory of God, wholly consecrated to Him. This is the will of God for you. Why is the Lord concerned about your body? Because 1 Corinthians 6:15-20, ‘ 15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. 16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. 17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.’

Your sanctification in body is the will of God, so please don’t play with that. You become unusable in the hands of God if this area is not concretely in place.

REMEMBER: Your sanctification in body is the will of God for you.

CONFESSION: Sin does not have dominion over me. The sanctification work of the Holy Spirit is at work in my spirit, soul and body, making me a usable instrument in the hands of the Lord. Glory be God!

PROPHETIC RELEASE: Every form of defilement in your spirit and body is cursed today. Receive grace to clean up and remain sanctified in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

  • WHAT IS HOLINESS?

    #WordForTodayDevotional

    Monday September 14, 2020

    WHAT IS HOLINESS?

For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
    I Thessalonians 4:7 (KJV)

Holiness is from the Greek word ‘hagiasmos’ which is from ‘hagiazo’ meaning to make holy, purify or consecrate. Our recreated human spirit was created in righteousness and true holiness (see Ephesians 4:24) So we are called unto holiness because we were recreated holy and it is only natural for us to maintain who we are. It came to a point in the lives of the church in Ephesus when they acclimatized with the world around them forgetting who they were created to be. Apostle Paul had to write them to be renewed in the spirit of their mind and to put on the new man. To put on the new man is another way of saying be conscious of the new man you were made to be. When you become conscious of that new man that was created in righteousness and true holiness, it will help you to begin to lay off the things that are not consistent with that life in your spirit. If truly you are born again, you were recreated in righteousness and true holiness, so not living holy should be very alien to you. In fact, it should be impossible not to live holy. The problem many believers have is acclimatization with the world. It is evil communication that corrupts good manners. So many believers have lived with the world so much that they have lost their identity trying to identify with the world. Whenever sin becomes attractive to a believer, he/she has fallen from grace and if he/she would not retrace their steps quickly, they will become lost in the world.

Holiness is the nature of righteousness that consecrates us and sets us apart from the world. It is the lifestyle that we have in Christ that makes us to venerate God, hallow Him, be holy and sanctified in our actions. We can live holy because our new man was created in righteousness and true holiness. If you are struggling with a sinful lifestyle, go back to Christ Jesus in repentance and receive cleansing, then begin to renew the spirit of your mind with the Word of God and walking in the consciousness of the nature of righteousness which you received at salvation. Make sure that on a daily basis you are renewing your mind with the Word of God because you will soon become what you think about. If the Word of God is what you are thinking about, you will soon become it. This is the principle that cannot be broken. So many are struggling with sin because of the nonsense that they gabbage into their mind and because you will soon become the attitude of your mind, if it is sin and sinful thoughts that fills your mind, you will have no choice but to start manifesting it.

When the Word says in Romans 12:2 that you should be transformed by the renewing of your mind, it is saying that your transformation is only to the extent of the Word of God that you expose your mind to. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says that as we look at Him as in a glass we are changed into the same image as by the Spirit of the Lord. This is the secret of maintaining your holiness nature. Beloved, there is no need to keep struggling when you should be reigning and ruling. Sin should not have dominion over you again because you are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. Cheer up and wake up! The days of defeat are over in your life. It is time to live true to your nature of holiness. Shalom!

REMEMBER: Holiness is the nature of your recreated human spirit. Live to that consciousness.

CONFESSION: I am a new creation in Christ Jesus with the very nature of God, the nature of righteousness and true holiness. I am reigning and ruling over sin. Glory be God!

PROPHETIC RELEASE: I declare that sin shall no longer exert dominion over you in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

  • WHAT IS RIGHTEOUSNESS?

    #WordForTodayDevotional

    Sunday September 13, 2020

    WHAT IS RIGHTEOUSNESS?

And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
    Genesis 15:6 (KJV)

Righteousness is the nature of God that we received the moment we got born again; the moment we believed God’s provision – Christ Jesus. Righteousness is that very nature of God that made God God. It is the gift of God bestowed upon the believer. Righteousness is received by faith. Abraham believed God and it was reckoned to him for righteousness (see Genesis 15:6). Righteousness is a gift that cannot be achieved by our works. Righteousness imparts upon the believer the confidence to stand before God without feeling inferior, or tongue-tied. Righteousness is the nature of God that the Holy Spirit imparts to our recreated human spirit at new birth. This righteousness we are talking about is ‘Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:’ (Romans 3:22). The standard of God is so high that man cannot achieve it. The best our righteousness can be is a filthy rag before God (see Isaiah 64:6). So, whenever we are talking about righteousness, please don’t even try to fit your conduct and practices into it, weighed in a balance, it is like a smelling rag before God. You must be willing to accept the precious gift of righteousness by surrendering your life to Christ.

Having received this nature of righteousness, it begins to bear fruits in our lives. Galatians 1:11 puts it this way, “Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.” We are expected to bear fruits of righteousness. John the baptist told the people that came to his baptism to bear fruits worthy of repentance (see Luke 3:8). It is still the same fruits of righteousness that he was talking about there. What are these fruits of righteousness? Galatians 5:22-24 says, ‘22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.’ The fruit of the Holy Spirit that the recreated human spirit bears are the fruits of righteousness that Galatians 1:11 was talking about. These fruits are as a result of your new birth not the determinant, there is a difference. Nothing can ever qualify you for the gift of righteousness but having received that gift, you are to live accordingly bearing the fruits thereby.

This is where many people disconnect in the school of the Word of righteousness. So many people wants to qualify for salvation. They want to be super-being that earned their salvation. They believe that you cannot be saved just like that without doing something; without ‘living right’. It is like asking a dog to roar like a lion. It is impossible no matter how long you train the dog, its nature forbids it to roar like a lion. Living right is natural for the man that has received the righteousness of God and is conscious of the workings of that gift in his life. Bearing the fruits of righteousness comes natural to the recreated spirit. He is not living right to be saved, no. He is living right as a result of salvation that he has received. I hope that is clear. Selah!

REMEMBER: Righteousness is the nature of God imparted to you at new birth.

CONFESSION: I am an heir of God and a joint-heir with Christ. I have been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and I am bearing the fruits of righteousness in my life on daily basis bringing praise and glory to the Father in the name of Jesus! Hallelujah!!!

PROPHETIC RELEASE: I release the grace to bear the fruits of righteousness in your life now in the name of Christ Jesus Amen.

  • FOUNDATION (3): BAPTISMS

    #WordForTodayDevotional

    FOUNDATION (3): BAPTISMS

Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
    Hebrews 6:2 [KJV]

Today we are dealing with the foundation principle of the baptisms.  Notice that it is baptisms implying more than one type of baptism.  The Greek word used here is “baptismos” which is derived from “baptizo” meaning to immerse, submerge, to make whelmed (that is fully wet).  In the New Testament, we recognize three types of baptisms and we shall be discussing them.  First, understand that baptism is the act of immersing someone into something.  It is not to sprinkle. There is nowhere in the new covenant where baptism implied sprinkling of water.  It is to submerge into water.  Over the years, we have seen this error in some quarters of sprinkling water in the name of baptism.  Suffix it to be clearly stated here that such doctrine is not of Christ.  The first type of baptism and the one that should come first is baptism into Christ.  Galatians 3:27 says, ‘For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.’  This experience is what we call the new birth.  It is the initiation into Christ by believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth.  When that is done, there is a submerge of your spirit-man into Christ which when is raised up comes up with newness of life (see Romans 6:4).

The second type of baptism is the water baptism.  This is symbolic of what happened at new birth.  Water baptism is a public confession of your identification with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.  You are submerged into the water, signifying the death and burial of Christ, then you are raised from the water, signifying the resurrection of Christ and as you come out of the water, you signify that you are now walking with Christ in the newness of life.  Mark 16:16 says, ‘He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.’  This shows that your salvation is not complete according to Jesus in Mark 16:16 until you are baptised.  Some argue that water baptism is not a requirement for salvation but Mark 16:16 seems to agree that it is.  Believing and baptism; baptism is the confession in that scripture.  It takes believing and confessing Christ to be saved, not just believing (see Romans 10:9-10).

The third type of baptism is the Holy Spirit baptism.  This is what happened to them in Acts 2:1-4.  It is the coming upon of the Holy Spirit to empower the believer for Christian service and testimony.  It is an experience subsequent to salvation.  This means that you must be saved first before this experience can be possible in your life.  It is evidenced by the utterances in tongues of the Spirit.  The Holy Spirit upon this baptism imparts to you utterance in tongues that you do not understand.  It is a prayer language to help you communicate with the Father more effectively and to help you build your spirit and faith (see Jude 1:20).  As you pray in the tongues of the Holy Spirit, your faith is energized and your spirit is built up like an edifice (see 1 Corinthians 14:1-4).  If you are not yet baptised, please seek this experience.  You can reach out to us to guide you.  It is very crucial foundation for your maturity in Christ.

REMEMBER:  The three types of baptisms discussed are very foundational.

CONFESSION:   I am an heir of God and a joint-heir with Christ.  The blessings of Abraham are mine in Christ.  I have been baptised into Christ, with a public water baptism proclamation and an empowerment of the Holy Spirit.  Glory to God!

PROPHETIC RELEASE:  I decree that the beauty of Jesus begins to reflect in your life from today in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!
