THE SEAT OF WISDOM

For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
II Corinthians 2:16 (KJV)

Every car has seats. The seats are arranged in such a way as to accommodate a particular number of people and to give comfort to the passengers. Imagine, for instance, the lot of a car without seats? The driver may be a professional of several years, but he still needs where to rest his weight comfortably to drive the car. The seat of a vehicle plays a vital role in the functionality of the car. Wisdom too needs a seat, a place from where to operate. The mind is the seat of wisdom. As one that is born again, you have a sound mind. Before you got born again, you had a natural mind. This is to be expected since you were a natural man. But after you gave your life to HaMashiach, 2 Corinthians 5:17 says old things are passed away and all things are now new. That means you became a new man, no more natural but supernatural. You also had a natural mind, but after your encounter with the mystery of new birth, it became a sound mind or a supernatural mind.

TO GET WISDOM (4): BE MEEK

Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
James 1:21 (BBE)

We have said that the Word is your access to the fear of the Lord and Wisdom. However, the Word is useless without meekness. The Holy Spirit only teaches the meek. You can only receive the Word with meekness and until you receive the Word, you are out of the path of the fear of the Word and consequently Wisdom. Psalms 34:9 says, “The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.” Your proximity to Wisdom is a function of the learning at the feet of the Master because He has been made unto us Wisdom and your ability to receive His instruction is a function of meekness. That means meekness is your access to Wisdom because with it you are able to receive the instructions that make you function in Wisdom. This should be very simple for anyone to understand. According to Wikipedia, “Meekness is the attribute of human nature and behaviour that has been defined as an amalgam of righteousness, inner humility and patience.” At new birth, this fruit of the Spirit was imparted to your human spirit. So, you are not disadvantaged. You cannot say, “Meekness is not my thing. I just don’t have it.” No! It is a fruit of the Spirit and like other fruits of the Spirit, they are developed, nurtured and consciously manifested for you to reap their benefits.

TO GET WISDOM (3): EXIST IN THE FEAR OF YAHWEH

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Proverbs 9:10 (KJV)

The fear of the Lord is the foundation for everything that is coming down from heaven. Every other gift from the Lord apart from Salvation is a function of the fear of the Lord. Salvation brings you to the fear of the Lord. Even though at Salvation, you are holy, made a holy priesthood, however, the matter of the fear of the Lord is a choice every believer must make. Proverbs 1:29 says, ‘For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord:’ Until you make the choice for the fear of the Lord in your life, you don’t have a chance with this Wisdom that turns the mountains by the roots. We saw a valid example in Daniel. The Wisdom that Yahweh gave Daniel was on the altar of the fear of the Lord when Daniel made a solid choice out of the fear of the Lord not to defile himself. Daniel 1:8 says, “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.” What was the result of the fear of the Lord in the life of Daniel? “As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.” (Daniel 1:17). The fear of the Lord is the foundation for Wisdom. You want to flow in this Wisdom from above? Then you must make the choice for the Fear of the Lord today.

TO GET WISDOM (2): LIVE IN THE WORD

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
Psalms 19:7 (KJV)

The spiritual environment that you must be to get this Wisdom is in HaMashiach. That means that you must be properly genuinely saved. Without this platform, this Wisdom would be an elusive desire in the life of anyone. The best you can get is human wisdom. This Wisdom that comes from above is only accessible to those dwelling in the heavenly places. As a born again person, you are dwelling in the heavenly places in Hamashiach (see Ephesians 1:20; 2:5-6). The Word of the Lord is foolishness to the unregenerated person. This Wisdom from above is stirred by learning the Word of the Lord. That is to say that you have no chance in this Wisdom if you are not in the Word. It is the Word of the Law that stirs the deposit of this Wisdom. Our opening text says that the Word makes wise the simple. The simple here is the person that is seducible. The simple here is the person that is silly; that can be attracted or lead away from proper behaviour or thinking. Everybody that is not born again has fallen into the seduction of the devil and it takes new birth and schooling in the Word to stir the Wisdom from above in the life of anybody. There is a life of Wisdom in your spirit-man but it takes seating down at the feet of the Lord Yahushua who is the Word to stir it. This is because the mind is channel of manifesting this Wisdom.

INGREDIENTS OF A WORKABLE PLAN

For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

Planning is a non-negotiable function for anyone that desire to walk in wisdom and make a mark for the Kingdom. The bane of so many believers both in their personal lives and in industry is lethargy in this area of planning. Planning starts with discovering purpose and receiving vision. Vision shows you your long-term goal. You would need to develop short-term goals in pursuit of the vision. After you have developed goals, then at the planning table, you lay out your courses of action and make a choice for pursuit. How do I organize a plan? Brian Tracy, the master of personal development developed an acronym that can helps us develop a solid plan. He called it SMART. When developing a personal development plan for work, you should focus on SMART goals. SMART stands for “Specific”, “Measurable”, “Achievable”, “Relevant”, and “Time-Bound”. Following this easy to remember acronym, you can improve both your personal and professional life.

PLANNING IS A PRODUCT OF WISDOM

Any enterprise is built by wise planning, becomes strong through common sense, and profits wonderfully by keeping abreast of the facts.

Planning is the fundamental management function, which involves deciding beforehand, what is to be done, when it is to be done, how it is to be done and who is going to do it. It is an intellectual process which lays down an organisation’s/individual’s objectives and develops various courses of action, by which the organisation/individual can achieve those objectives. It chalks out exactly, how to attain a specific goal. Planning is nothing but thinking before the action takes place. It helps us to take a peep into the future and decide in advance the way to deal with the situations, which we are going to encounter in future. It involves logical thinking and rational decision making. Spiritually speaking, planning is a wisdom function, that helps the individual, group, organisation or nation lay beforehand, what is to be done (objective), when it is to be done (timing), how it is to be done (strategy) and who is going to do it (assigning an individual). It leaves no room to assumptions. Our opening texts says that any enterprise, business, ministry, career is built by wise planning. Planning is tying activities or actions to be carried out to time, place and person. Planning is the fundamental way of being versatile in your pursuits in life. It is also a smart way to obtain results. Many believers who are still grounded today, though they have discovered their gifts, have identified with their discoveries and are unwaveringly committed in its pursuit, are so because they are poor planners. A wise man said, “failing to plan is planning to fail.” Planning, therefore, is God’s wisdom for increased productivity.

THE PERILS OF LIVING WITHOUT VISION

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
Proverbs 29:18 (KJV)

Let us see several Bible translations of Proverbs 29:18. NLT says, “When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful.” Easy-to-read Version (ERV) says, “If a nation is not guided by God, the people will lose self-control, but the nation that obeys God’s law will be happy.” GNB says, “A nation without God’s guidance is a nation without order. Happy are those who keep God’s law!” The Passion Translation(TPT) says, “When there is no clear prophetic vision, people quickly wander astray. But when you follow the revelation of the Word, heaven’s bliss fills your soul.” CEV says, “Without guidance from God law and order disappear, but God blesses everyone who obeys his Law.” Let’s collate these translations cited. What it is all about is that without vision, you perish, run wild, lose self-control, exist orderless, wander astray, and experience the disappearance of law and order in your life. I think these different translations have given us in details the dangers of living without vision. This perish is both in time and ultimately in eternity. It is vision that makes you keep eternity in view in your day to day operations. That is why perishing is inevitable without vision because just like New Living Translation (NLT) tells us, you would run wild. You will begin to live like every other person, “let us eat and drink, tomorrow we die.” (see Isaiah 22:13). You can run wild into alcoholism, pornography, sexual pervasions of all manner, squandermania, and all manner of unprintable addictions. All these are the product of lack of vision, people running wild.

HOW TO COME BY YOUR VISION

I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
Habakkuk 2:1 (KJV)

Our opening text is describing a prayer situation and position. That presupposes that the quest to get your divine vision requires you to take a prayer posture. This prayer demand accounts why so many in the body of HaMashiach hasn’t known Yahweh’s purpose and plans for them till date. It is not gotten on the platter of gold; it takes some prayer posture beloved. One major characteristics of a genuine vision is that it has its source in Yahweh. If you want to hear, “well-done, good and faithful servant” (see Matthew 25:21,23), you must ensure that you get your vision from the Lord. Any vision that does not have its source in Yahweh leads to destruction. It might flourish for a while but certain destruction is inevitable. Even if you are applauded here on earth by people, what becomes of you when you stand before the throne of Him to whom we have to do? (see Hebrews 4:13). A vision is sought for and acquired by man/woman. Everyone through separation seeks his own vision. No one can seek a vision for another person. Vision is an individual, personal affair. It is not a collective affair. A man/woman who desires a vision must necessarily separate himself from every distraction and make enquiries from Yahweh.

DANGERS OF LIVING WITHOUT PURPOSE

Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.

Firstly, meaning in life is a function of purpose. You will not be able to wrap your mind around existence if you fail to discover your purpose. Can you imagine being in a journey that has no destination and objective. A wise man had said that if you don’t know where you are going, everywhere will look like it. Meaninglessness is a function of purposelessness. People are growing up, going to school, getting a job or running a business and living life without defining why. “Why am I living?” Are you living just to get degrees, get the best paying jobs, buy the best car and house and then continue like that? There is nothing more vain like living without purpose. It makes you live for things and as long as you live for things, you will live in mirage.
