PILLARS OF PROSPERITY (1): COVENANT GIVING (A)

Give, and it shall be given unto you? good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Luke 6:38 (KJV)

Covenant giving is the highway of abundance in this Kingdom. The law of seed-time and harvest is also called the law of giving. Giving is like sowing seeds into the ground. The ground you are sowing the seed matters a lot to the harvest that you can expect. That is why it is not every giving that produces harvest. It is only covenant giving that produces bountiful harvest. Covenant giving is that giving that is in line with the Word. Covenant giving is that giving that is commanded by the Word. When you give according to the Word, then you are assured of a bountiful returns. Covenant giving starts with the tithe. The tithe is ten percent of the increase of Yahweh upon your life and business/career. 10% of $100 is $10. That is how simple it is. Tithe is a debt you are owing Yahweh that is why if you refuse to pay, it is regarded as robbery (see Malachi 3:8-12). When you pay your tithe, you provoke the heavens opened over you and your finances and indeed everything that concerns you. When you don’t pay your tithe, you incurred the curse of the Lord released upon the thief (see Zechariah 5:1-4). You also close the heaven over you and expose yourself to the devourer. It is better imagined than experienced. If you are in this Kingdom of HaMashiach and you are not faithful in tithing, you are doing yourself a great disservice. In the new testament, it is our high priest Yahushua that receives the tithe (see Hebrews 7:8).

FOUNDATION FOR PROSPERITY (4): ADDICTION

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness? and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)

There is another level we are going to be discussing today. It is called addiction. This is the point of encounter with Yahweh-Jireh. Psalms 122:6 says, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.” Who shall prosper? The above scripture says, “they shall prosper that love thee”, not “that love to prosper.” Those that shall prosper are those that love the peace of Jerusalem (Yahweh’s kingdom), that want to see it advancing, progressing and established. That’s addiction! Verse 9 says, “Because of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek thy good.” That’s not a trade by barter life, but a life utterly dedicated and committed to the good of the house of Yahweh. David was simply addicted! There is what to seek first, so that you won’t have any need to seek any other thing, as they would cheaply be added unto you! I don’t know where your heart is, but I must tell you that where your heart is determines where Yahweh places you. Seek ye first the kingdom of Yahweh… That is, you’re moved by every kingdom issue; not just to be seen, but because that’s where your heart is. Many are in the kingdom for what they can get, so they always get disappointed. Many there are that are only moved by their own things, so their own things never work. But when the kingdom of Elohim moves you as your own thing would, you’re on your way to the topmost top in life. David can testify to this (1 Chronicles 29:2-5).

FOUNDATION FOR PROSPERITY (3): AFFECTION

Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
Habakkuk 3:18 (KJV)

Deuteronomy 28:47-48 says “47 Because thou servedst not the Lord thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things; 48 Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the Lord shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.” Today, we want to consider the foundation for prosperity called affection. I define affection as delightsome commitment—getting involved with excitement. There is this prophetic parable in Jeremiah 23:36-39, “36 And the burden of the Lord shall ye mention no more: for every man’s word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the Lord of hosts our God. 37 Thus shalt thou say to the prophet, What hath the Lord answered thee? and, What hath the Lord spoken? 38 But since ye say, The burden of the Lord; therefore thus saith the Lord; Because ye say this word, The burden of the Lord, and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of the Lord; 39 Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence:” So you have to be delighted in Yahweh, you have to be excited! Yahweh loves a cheerful giver. That is, Yahweh doesn’t love just the giver, but the one that gives cheerfully. Giving therefore without being cheerful is wasting your seed. It has no future. When you do it as a burden and not as a delight, you end up in shame and reproach. When you don’t obey Yahweh with delight, it’s a curse.

FOUNDATION FOR PROSPERITY (2): DEDICATION

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
John 12:24 (KJV)

Proverbs 23:26 says, “My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.” Note that Yahweh didn’t say, “My son give Me your cash.” When it comes to kingdom prosperity, if your heart is not there, your cash is wasted! Talking about the Macedonian Church, they enjoyed so much grace in the realm of prosperity, because as Apostle Paul said of them in II Corinthians 8:5, “And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.” When your heart is tuned unto Yahweh, your sacrifices become acceptable, otherwise they have no meaning to Him. People have made too many mistakes hitherto thinking that they can impress Yahweh with the volume of their giving; what moves Him is your heart. We saw the Lord Yahushua beside the offering basket in the temple in Mark 12:41-44 watching what who and who was giving. At the end of the offering, he made a shocking revelation that according to heaven’s assessment for that service, a poor widow gave more than all of them. So, it is not the volume of your offering, but the position of your heart. Is your heart on the Lord Yahushua or not?

FOUNDATION FOR PROSPERITY (1): CONSECRATION

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
II Timothy 2:19 (KJV)

The foundation of everything that has to do with Yahweh for the man is to depart from iniquity. The problem of man in the first place is sin. Before, man lived in prosperity, spirit, soul and body. In the garden of Eden, there was no disruption in communion with Yahweh, so the spirit of man was very prosperous. His soul was also very prosperous seeing that he named everything without aid and the names he gave them is their name to this day. He operated in the class of Yahweh in his mentality. Then, there was no record of sickness, pain or disease that was able to penetrate his body. He was absolutely a prosperity entity in all realms of existence. Then, came sin and everything changed. Sin is a sinker of destiny. It sank the destiny of Adam and the human race. The foundation for communion with Yahweh is a life of consecration. For man to resume communion with the Lord Yahweh, he must clean up and separate himself for divine use. Consecration is a setting apart for sacred use. It is handing over your life to the Lord for sacred use. It is turning your back to the world and its systems. It is burning the bridge linking you to sin and unrighteousness once and for all and committing your heart and life to Yahweh to please Him and for His use.

THE PURPOSE OF PROSPERITY (5): FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy?
I Timothy 6:17 (KJV)

Our Heavenly Father is not opposed to your enjoyment. One of the reasons He blesses His children is for their enjoyment. He wants you to eat and be full. This scarcity and smallness mentality in you must die today. Deuteronomy 8:9-10 says, “9 A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass. 10 When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the Lord thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.” The Lord brings His people into a land where you will eat bread without scarceness; a land that you will never lack anything in it. Is that not the raw definition of prosperity? Why is Yahweh bringing you to prosperity? It is so that you can eat and be full. It is for you to enjoy the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living. This is also the reason why prosperity is not just money. You can have money but still you are not enjoying anything. Money with pain in your body is not prosperity. Money with war in your marriage is not prosperity. Money with wayward children is not prosperity. There is no enjoyment when you are not at peace with your maker. So, prosperity is far more than just money and wealth.

THE PURPOSE OF PROSPERITY (1): TO FULFILL HIS COVENANT

But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
Deuteronomy 8:18 (KJV)

The purpose of anything is the most important part of that thing. Dr Myles Munroe remarked that when purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable. This is particularly true, when it comes to the issue of prosperity. So many people are abusing prosperity because they don’t know the purpose of Yahweh for bringing them into possessions of things. We are going to outline the purpose of Yahweh for manifesting prosperity in our lives. The Lord established a covenant with Abraham to bless him and through him bless all the families of the earth. It was a covenant and Yahweh is committed to His Word if man meets the demands of the covenant. Till date, Abraham descendants according to the flesh are such blessed people that evoke envy amongst their neighbours. The covenant is not only restricted to the descendants of Abraham according to the flesh for the Word says that the seed of Abraham is HaMashiach. Galatians 3:16 says, “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many? but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.” As many as are in HaMashiach are Abraham’s seed and therefore, heirs according to the promise. Till date the Lord Yahweh is still prospering His people according to that covenant. He does it to establish His covenant that He made with Abraham. That should humble you.

WHERE IS YOUR HEART?

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness? and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)

Even though prosperity is your Father’s Will for you, it may be an illusion in your life if your love is not on the Lord Himself. Where your heart is, is critical to your accessing your inheritance of prosperity. Let us examine Matthew 6:19-33 (The Amplified Bible),

“Do not gather and heap up and store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust and worm consume and destroy, and where thieves break through and steal. But gather and heap up and store for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust nor worm consume and destroy, and where thieves do not break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is sound, your entire body will be full of light. But if your eye is unsound, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the very light in you [your conscience] is darkened, how dense is that darkness!

YAHWEH’S WILL IS PROSPERITY

Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Luke 12:32 (KJV)

This kingdom is a symbol of prosperity. Its streets are paved with gold. Prosperity is well-being of your spirit, soul and body. Prosperity is using the power of Yahweh to meet the needs of mankind in any area of life. Prosperity is having all your needs supplied according to His riches in glory. The will is a legal document declaring a person’s wishes regarding the disposal of their property when they die. The will settles every contention as to what belongs to the children in the absence of their father. There is a will of our heavenly Father available for you. He does not need to die like earthly fathers because He is a spirit existing in eternity. He left a will for you and it is called the Bible. Whatever you can find in the Bible is settled for you as your inheritance in Yahweh. For most people, their challenge is knowing the Will of Yahweh in any particular matter that concerns them. In Matthew 8:2 we read “And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.” For this man, he was settled about the power of the Lord to heal Him but only if it is His will. When the knowledge of His Will is missing, it creates a number of spiritual challenges that hinders you from taking delivery. If you are oblivious of the will of Yahweh, you cannot believe. Faith only comes alive by the Word. If you don’t have any Word to stand upon, faith cannot come and if faith doesn’t exist, you cannot receive from Yahweh (see Hebrews 11:6).

THE GOSPEL MEANS PROSPERITY

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor? …
Luke 4:18 [KJV]

The Lord Yahushua came for a specific assignment and it was encapsulated in our opening text. He came to preach the gospel to the poor. Gospel means good news. What is this good news that the Lord Yahushua came to preach to the poor? What is the gospel to the poor? The gospel to the poor is that Yahushua has come and they don’t have to be poor any more! Not very many poverty-stricken people have ever heard the whole gospel. Most of them have heard that they are supposed to live a meagre existence. That is what the missionaries who preached to them believed! There are always some missionaries who will become upset about the preaching of the whole gospel. But when you are preaching the Word of Yahweh, it works. Elohim could care less whether anyone listening has a dime or not. He didn’t base His gospel on what government happens to be in power at the time. All Yahweh is looking for is faith! There is enough undiscovered wealth in the poorest nations of this world to turn their poverty into abundance if they would just believe the gospel. If there wasn’t, Yahweh is more than able to put it there.
