PILLARS OF KINGDOM PROSPERITY (1): GIVING (A)

But thou shalt remember the Lord thy Yahweh: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
Deuteronomy 8:18 (KJV)

We are going to look at the pillars of Kingdom Wealth. Kingdom Wealth answers to our lifestyle after new birth. What you do determines what Yahweh does for you. When you respond in obedience to the Word of Yahweh, you set the stage for Yahweh to unleash upon you what you cannot recover from all your days. Let us start this series with Giving. Giving is living. The way Yahweh prospers is different from the way the world prospers. What the world calls prosperity is how much you have; but in the kingdom of Yahweh, prosperity is determined by how much you give. We’re going to be looking at five dimensions of giving:

THE PURPOSE OF KINGDOM PROSPERITY (3): FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living Yahweh, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
I Timothy 6:17 (KJV)

This point should be obvious, that Yahweh is blessing you for you to enjoy it. Yahweh is not opposed to your enjoyment of the blessing on your life. On the contrary, He blesses you richly for your enjoyment. See this scripture in Deuteronomy 8:10, ‘When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the Lord thy Yahweh for the good land which he hath given thee.’ Yahweh doesn’t just have a programme for you to eat but has provided more than enough so you can be full. Yahweh wants you to eat to the full not scarcely, not in scarcity. He gives us richly all things to enjoy. Refuse to manage through life. Refuse to celebrate scarcity, lack and want. There is more than enough provision for you to be full and be a blessing. Come to think about it, how can you be a blessing if you are not blessed? How can you sponsor someone to church if you lack transport yourself? If Yahweh commands you to be a blessing, it means He designed you to overflow, not to get by, not to manage through. No! Whatever your position is today does not suggest that it is your portion. Your portion in HaMashiach is abundance, plenty and prosperity. It is a place where nothing is lacking, nothing is missing.

THE PURPOSE OF KINGDOM PROSPERITY (2): FOR OUTREACH TO THE POOR

Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
Psalms 41:1 (KJV)

The poor is your opportunity to build capacity for greater level of blessing. The poor around you are Yahweh-given assets for your increase in life. So celebrate every opportunity to bless the poor with excitement. There’s always somebody in need just around the corner. ‘For ye have the poor always with you…’ (Matthew 26:11). Deuteronomy 15:11 also adds: ‘For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.’ When you open up your bowels, heaven’s windows also opens in your direction. One of the reasons Yahweh blesses us is so that we can bless the poor around us, to open our hands wide towards the poor and rescue them from the jaws and plague of poverty. Until your arms are open wide to the needy, Yahweh’s window stays shut over you. If you eat all your food and drink your water alone, it will soon run dry. There’s an opportunity around you there, grab it! You may say, “There was somebody I helped the other day, and he did this, he did that”, recounting some negative experiences you had in the past. No! Just keep reaching out to the poor and needy. Don’t say, “When I have a big house…” It’s a big heart you need, not a big house!

THE PURPOSE OF KINGDOM PROSPERITY (1): FOR KINGDOM EXPANSION

But seek ye first the kingdom of Yahweh, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)

Yahweh never does anything without a purpose. There is a reason for Kingdom Prosperity. Dr Myles Munroe of blessed memory said that ‘when purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable’. In this series from today, we shall be exploring why Kingdom Prosperity? In Zechariah 1:17, the word says, ‘Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the Lord shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.’ The spreading abroad of the cities of the Lord which is the Church of the Living Yahweh is the reason for Kingdom prosperity. The comfort of Zion, the city of the Living Yahweh which is the Church is the purpose Yahweh gives us the power to get wealth. The Kingdom of Yahweh on earth is basically that of the souls of men, reaching out to save the unsaved and discipling them into the fullness of Yahweh. Your sound health and mind, your cash and money and your time is to be spent in ensuring that souls are reached with the gospel of the Lord Yahushua HaMashiach, discipled and released to win others. This is the crust of what the Kingdom of Yahweh on earth is all about. Save them, bring them into the church where they are discipled and released to continue the cycle. Every time you refuse to channel your prosperity to Kingdom interest, you become a victim of making gold your god. Every gold you keep away from Yahweh will take you away from Him. You either worship Yahweh with your gold or you worship your gold. Make your choice. There are two great contestants for your worship, Yahweh and gold. And Yahushua said, “Ye cannot serve Yahweh and mammon (money).” (Matthew 6:24) You are either serving Yahweh with your means, or you’ll end up worshipping your means.

FOUNDATION FOR KINGDOM PROSPERITY (5): ADDICTION

And he said, I have been very jealous for the Lord Yahweh of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.
1 Kings 19:10 [KJV]

An addict is a person that has caused oneself to become dependent (on something, especially a narcotic drug). A Yahweh-addict is someone who has caused himself by an act of his will to become dependent on Yahweh and the interest of His kingdom. It is one thing to receive HaMashiach and eternal life into your spirit, then another thing to consecrate yourself for Yahweh’s use in your generation, then another thing to be deadly committed to the Lord Yahweh, then another thing to be excited in affection to the Lord Yahweh, then completely another to be an addict of Yahweh and His Kingdom. The addiction realm is the realm where Yahweh swears a blessing on you and your generation by your display of affection. A Yahweh-addict has completely lost his mind to the will of Yahweh and the interest of His Kingdom. Yahushua HaMashiach operated in that realm when his brethren came to take him, exclaiming that He has lost his mind (See Mark 3:21). Yahushua was so addicted to Yahweh and the interest of His Kingdom that his friends took offence and accused him of having lost his mind. When you are addicted to Yahweh, even the devil can no longer ignore you because you become a heavy weight in the realm of the spirit. An addict uses his last cash to get the substance he is addicted to, he doesn’t care if the people of his household are starving, something else is controlling him. When you see a Yahweh-addict, nothing is too big for Yahweh.

FOUNDATION FOR KINGDOM PROSPERITY (4): AFFECTION

Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
Psalms 91:14 [KJV]

Affection is delightsome commitment – getting involved with excitement. This means that whatever involves Yahweh is not a burden to you. Serving Yahweh without affection, rather attracts a curse from Yahweh. So this foundation is critical. See what Yahweh says in Deuteronomy 28:47-48, ‘47 Because thou servedst not the Lord thy Yahweh with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things; 48 Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the Lord shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.’ It is a risk to hang around Yahweh without an affection for Yahweh. It is only responding to the Love of Yahweh that qualifies anyone for Kingdom prosperity. So you have to be delighted in Yahweh, you have to be excited! Yahweh loves a cheerful giver. That is, Yahweh doesn’t love just the giver, but the one that gives cheerfully. Giving therefore without being cheerful is wasting your seed. It has no future.

FOUNDATION FOR KINGDOM PROSPERITY (3): DEDICATION

My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.
Proverbs 23:26 (KJV)

Yahweh is saying ‘give me your heart’, not ‘give me your cash’. When we talk about Kingdom prosperity, many people think of Yahweh asking you to give your money, but no, His demand is for your heart. Why is that important? Matthew 6:21 says that your treasure follows the direction of your heart. When it comes to Kingdom Prosperity, if your heart is not there, your cash is wasted. Dedication is being inseparably connected to Yahweh and His pleasures. It is being with Him at all times. It is being planted in the house of Yahweh (see Psalms 92:13-14). Your flourishing is a function of your being planted in the courts of our Yahweh. Dedication is being deadly committed as Bishop David Oyedepo will always define it. To “be planted” means to be committed. Do you find trees moving about? Wherever you find a tree today, that’s where you’ll meet it tomorrow. It’s planted. “Those who are planted…” That word “planted” explains what dedication is all about. Dedication guarantees a glorious future. Dedication is the mystery behind distinction. How dedicated you are determines how distinguished you will ever become in the kingdom. Isaiah 61:3 says, ‘…that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.‘

FOUNDATION FOR KINGDOM PROSPERITY (2): CONSECRATION

Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
Isaiah 3:10 (KJV)

In life it is important to ensure the foundation is in order before going ahead to build. No matter what you build, if you don’t make sure the foundation is sure, you are just wasting your time. For us to ensure a solid kingdom prosperity, the first foundation salvation must be in place. You must ensure that you are genuinely saved. Psalm 3:11 says that if the foundation is destroyed, what can the righteous do? Today, we are dealing with another foundation material, consecration. 2 Timothy 2:19 introduces this foundation, “Nevertheless the foundation of Yahweh standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of HaMashiach depart from iniquity.” ‘Depart from iniquity’ is the foundation for every one of Yahweh’s provision for man. Until this foundation is in place, the principles of the Kingdom will never produce. If you don’t ensure this foundation, the teachings of this month cannot produce for you. Many people have the teachings but lack the results. Why? Because the foundation is faulty, so the principles appear untrue. The foundation is crucial to every structure. So as we proceed to build a strong, lasting prosperity structure, we need a good understanding of the foundation.

FOUNDATION FOR KINGDOM PROSPERITY (1): NEW BIRTH

That at that time ye were without HaMashiach, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without Yahweh in the world:
Ephesians 2:12 (KJV)

In the scheme of things, life comes first before prosperity. Everyone not born again is dead in trespasses. The person is not alive and therefore, cannot be talking about prosperity. There is no knowledge or understanding in the grave (see Ecclesiastes 9:10). Everyone not born again is spiritually dead. That is why such a person is bound for hell fire because no dead soul is in heaven. Hell is the place of the dead. Being alive is the first foundation for Kingdom Prosperity. No dead soul is admitted into the school of kingdom prosperity because prosperity entails that you are in a covenant relationship with Yahweh which was enacted by the blood of the Lord Yahushua HaMashiach. If you have never surrendered to the Lordship of the Lord Yahushua HaMashiach, then you can quickly do it now and be qualified for what the Lord is going to do this month. If you backslid, same applies to you. Sin is a killer. It kills spiritual life. Backslider, come back to the Lord now. It is salvation that brings you into shalom. The Word translated as saved in Mark 16:16 actually means and implies prosperity. This shows that until you are saved, you don’t have an inheritance among the saints. Kingdom prosperity is an inheritance among those that are sanctified. So if you are not part of the sanctified, then you do not have such an inheritance.

WHAT IS KINGDOM PROSPERITY?

Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
Psalms 35:27 (KJV)

What exactly is prosperity? Here, we are talking about the prosperity of the kingdom person which we shall henceforth refer to as kingdom prosperity. Kingdom prosperity is the prosperity of the person that is born again and ruled by the commandment of the Lord Yahushua. Yahushua HaMashiach is the head of this kingdom and His word is the rule that govern His kingdom. The prosperity that comes as a result of following the commandment of the Lord Yahushua HaMashiach is what we refer as Kingdom Prosperity. Kingdom Prosperity is the prosperity that is engendered by the Word of Yahweh. Having understood that, what then is Prosperity? The word translated prosperity in our opening text is the Hebrew word ‘shalom’ and has many shades of meaning. Shalom means completeness in number; safety, soundness in body; welfare, health; peace, quiet, tranquillity, contentment; peace, friendship (of human relationships and with Yahweh especially in covenant relationship); peace from war; and peace generally.
