Welcome to the month of October 2020. We are confident in the Lord that you have been supremely impacted by the Word of Righteousness in the month of September. Understanding your stand with God is the springboard for maximizing your potentials in God because it is only the righteous that can abide in the hill of the Lord (see Psalm 15). Without holiness, no eye shall see the Lord (see Hebrews 12:14). Understanding what Christ Jesus has done for you and living accordingly is the platform of fulfilling your destiny in God. Walking in that understanding, you rule and reign over sin, Satan and sickness. You are supremely in command in all areas of life. Your ultimate goal will become to please the Lord in word and deed, placing you in that pedestal of favour with God and man. May the Lord help us to maintain a solid life of holiness and consecration till we see Him face to face in Jesus Name Amen!
What then is the Lord saying for the King Priest Family Worldwide in the month of October 2020? The soul of man is the highest interest of God on earth. When man fall, all of heaven went into intense work to implement the plan of a comeback for man. A call went through the heavens “who shall I send and who will go for us” to redeem man from the slavery to sin and Satan (see Isaiah 6:8, Revelation 5:1-6). No man in heaven, earth or under the earth was worthy to respond to that call for the price and redemption of the soul of man is too costly and precious (Psalms 49:7-8). It is only God Himself that can afford that price. The Father proceeded from the throne in the person of Christ Jesus, was born, died, buried, resurrected and ascended and fulfilled the demand of justice for the redemption of the soul of man. Glory to God the plan was executed perfectly and completely. Now, Jesus commanded every believer to herald the news of this redemption and salvation to every other person that have not heard. You probably have heard of this news and have believed, repented and confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Saviour. When you did, you were enlisted as a vanguard for propagating this good news.
Our prophetic focus for the Month of October 2020 therefore, is ‘SOUL-WINNING IS GOD’S BUSINESS WHICH GUARANTEES THAT ALL MY NEEDS ARE MET’ (Matthew 6:33). In October, we are going to trust God to understand our role in His conglomerate and to take responsibility. The business of God on earth is the salvation of the soul of humanity. This is because the earth as it is presently constituted is going to pass away (see 2 Peter 3:7). No matter how we don’t want to hear it, the truth is that the earth shall be burnt up (II Peter 3:10). Everyone living and dead will one day appear before the judgment seat of Christ (II Corinthians 5:10). There is a judgment going on right now. As you pass through the earth, you determine by yourself where you will spend eternity. God in Christ has committed into the hands of the individual believer the task of informing everyone that the price for their soul has been paid. As a believer, your occupation notwithstanding, your primary assignment is preaching the gospel with your life and with words. The opportunities and success God brings your way is to well position you to excel in this task. Being preoccupied with any other thing is an error. We trust that this month God will reposition everyone of us to be effective and productive believers.

THANKSGIVING: Dear Father, thank you for the privilege of life, of seeing a new month. Thank You for sending Jesus Christ to pay the prize for my sins and for the privilege of your presence in my life. Thank You for giving me the blessed Holy Spirit who now lives in me. Thank You for all you did for us in the month of September. I am set for this month, for all you desire to do in me and for me. Thank You in advance for a successful October 2020 in all ramifications in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

Here at WordForTodayDevotional, we devote the last day of every month as our thanksgiving day where we celebrate the grace of God that has seen us through the month. We do not take for granted the mercies of the Lord from the first of the month to today the thirtieth. What is thanksgiving and what does it hold for the believer? Thanksgiving is realizing the grace and mercy of God upon our lives and returning to Him with praise, giving Him glory. Thanksgiving is returning to the Lord with a loud voice giving Him glory for the goodness and mercy we have seen. Thanksgiving is appreciating God for who He is, a great God, a merciful God, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love (Exo. 34:6; Deu. 10:17). Thanksgiving is knowing that the Lord is the source of whatever blessing we have experienced and returning to the Lord with joy, gratitude, praise and worship, giving Him glory. Has God done anything for you this month of September? The problem with many people is that they cannot think, so it is difficult for them to see what to thank God for. I think there are three ways God blesses us. Firstly, God provides us with supplies and that guarantees abundance. Secondly, God prevents leakages and this can come in terms of great health, peace and tranquility, nothing missing, everything intact. You may not have all the money that you require but you are not running helter skelter. Thirdly, God provides both supplies and preservation. Almost all of us are enjoying this third one. The truth is that the best blessings are those money cannot buy like health, peace and preservation. You are breathing well, eating on your own and passing feces on your own is the blessing of the Lord.
Beloved, another thing is that the Lord is waiting for you to return with thanksgiving before you can see the next level. Whatever blessing you have now can be perfected but that is only if you agree to return with thanksgiving. Luke 17:17-18 says, ‘17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? 18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.’ Your complaining is the reason things are still complicated in your life. Your murmuring is what has been responsible in dragging your destiny to the mud. Your grumbling is the one factor that is causing your destiny to groove in darkness without any ray of light at the end of the tunnel. Would you not repent today and know that not to return with thanksgiving is shooting yourself on the foot. So, one benefit of returning with thanksgiving is perfection of blessing. When the man healed of leprosy returned with a loud voice, the Lord Jesus said to him, “Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.” (Luke 17:19).
Another benefit of returning with thanksgiving and praise is divine presence. Your thanksgiving is the gateway to the presence of God. Psalms 100:4 says, ‘Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.’ So if you are the person that is given to returning to the Lord with thanksgiving, you will never lack His presence in your life. When the presence of God is with you, the sea of life will see you and flee, the mountains will skip like rams and hills like lambs (see Psalms 114:3). You literally will know no barrier in life. Your life will enter autopilot of success and blessings.
Another benefit of thanksgiving is that it establishes the blessings upon you. Now it doesn’t matter the matter in your life, the Word says in everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you (see I Thessalonians 5:18). When you have fulfilled the will of God, you will receive the promise (see Hebrews 10:36). Beloved, thanksgiving is the will of God for you no matter what your situation is saying. Give thanks to establish the promise of God that has already been fulfilled in Christ in your life. All the promises of God are yes in Christ (see II Corinthians 1:20). Explode in thanksgiving today!
REMEMBER: Until you can think well, you cannot thank well.
THANKSGIVING: Dear Father, we are not worthy of the least of your mercies. What shall we say for taking us through the whole month of September, no loss, no tears, we saw goodness and mercies, abundance of blessings in front and at the back. Thank You for your preservation, provision and supplies. Thank You for abundance of your Word this month. Thank You Lord for clothing us with the garment of righteousness and holiness this month. To You alone be all the glory in the Name of Christ Jesus Amen!

Listen! The death of Jesus Christ on the cross paid fully for the healing of all sickness and disease and if you can only believe this, you will not cross into October with that sickness. I decree that whatever name, they call that affliction that it expires today. In the name of Christ Jesus, sickness, disease, infection, affliction or whatever name you are called die now! Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

It is said that the presence of God will keep you out of sin and sin will keep you out of the presence of the God. Until there is repentance, there cannot come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord. So taking responsibility in consciously courting the presence of the Lord is a vital step in living sin-free. For you to maintain God’s presence, you must take care of sin. So the consciousness of God’s presence is the natural cure for a lifestyle of iniquity because both are completely mutually exclusive. The pursuit of one, is the complete absence and obliteration of the other. A hot pursuit after the presence of God is the complete eternal destruction of the life of sin. In the Old Testament, the ark represented the presence of the Lord and wherever the ark is, is consecrated and no unconsecrated person is permitted near there. Even in the apostate state of Israel, anyone that will come close to the ark must take extra care to sanctify himself. In I Samuel 7:1, Eleazar was sanctified to keep the ark of the Lord. For you to maintain the presence of the Lord, you must be careful to see that you and your environment is sanctified. This is an inevitable price. That means the surest way to disable sin in your life amongst others is to maintain the presence of the Lord in your life.
Deuteronomy 23:14 says, “For the Lord thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.” You see the qualification for the presence of God to abide with you is that your camp must be holy. If He ever sight unholiness, it turns Him away from you. The presence of God is a strong motivation for me to strive to maintain holiness in and around me. When the presence of God is with you, he walks around to deliver you. It is a hurt-free zone of life. You live as it were in a citadel highly fortified against human and satanic wickedness. Do you know, the greatest fear of evil people, occultist, satanists, etc is the presence of the Lord with you? Only your presence in a place disables their installations when you carry God’s presence. The writer had a humbling experience when he was in the University. A cultist that later gave his life to Christ, confessed that whenever he passed the writer on the hallway or on the road, something passes and he would turn to see who is this. It was that curiosity to know what was that aura that was around this guy that led him to Christ. Glory to God! In the realm of the spirit, the presence of God is tangible and palpable that it literally builds walls of fire round about you. You are just impregnable to satanic assaults. You can never allow that immorality or indulgence to deny you of that defence. Would you?
If there is anything that you should guard jealously it is the presence of God. Anointing becomes nothing in comparison to the presence of the Lord. There are things the level of anointing on your life now cannot handle because anointing is in measures. On the contrary, the presence of God is more than equal to any tasks. It dissolves tumors without you praying. When the presence of God is in a Church environment, people start getting healed as they pass the gates into the Church. Without equivocation, the greatest asset in this side of eternity is the Word and the tangible palpable presence of the Holy Spirit. When your life is based on the Word and the raw presence of the Holy Spirit, you become a force to be reckoned with on earth. Selah!
REMEMBER: Sin will deprive you of the presence of God.
PRAYER: Beloved Father, I thank you for your word to me today. I receive grace for daily intimacy with the Holy Spirit who will enlighten my eyes in the word and keep me perpetually in your presence in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!
PROPHETIC RELEASE: Begin to walk in the reality of divine presence which will produce the harvest of increase, abundance, advantage of the Holy Spirit, favour and glory from now in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
I Corinthians 13:33 (KJV)
What we are going to talk about today has nothing to do with how spiritual you are. At any point you stop obeying any aspect of the Word, you set yourself up for failure. So many people who thought that their spirituality can withstand evil communication are no more in the faith today. Some felt there were too spiritual that nothing can upturn their faith, but the mystery of evil communication just as the Word says it would, upturned their faith and today some of them are not yet back to the faith. Some of them died in that backslidden state. That shall not be your portion. Now, I want you to develop a mindset that the Word of God is supreme and wiser than you could ever be. If the Word says that evil communication corrupts good manners, then there is something about evil communication that you must be wary about. What exactly is evil communication? Everyone that is not born again does not operate by the Holy Spirit and if you are not actively guided by the Holy Spirit, you are then directly or indirectly under the influence of evil spirit. Therefore, communication or friendship with someone that is not born again is evil communication. It does not matter who that person is and how good and nice they are to you. Cut off fellowship with someone that is not born again. That does not mean that you are not on talking terms but that means that he/she is not your confidant and counselor. In all your relationship, do not be close to an unbeliever enough to confide and receive counsel from them. It is evil communication and the Word forbids that because of your own good.
Psalms 1:1 (BBE) says “Happy is the man who does not go in the company of sinners, or take his place in the way of evil-doers, or in the seat of those who do not give honour to the Lord.” Check it, how can someone that advises you be someone that does not honour the Lord Jesus, someone that scorns spiritual things; someone that scoffs at the Church? Do you know that the enemy of the Lord is your enemy? How then can you be friend with the enemy of the Lord, someone that mocks the things of God? It is ridiculous! That is why so many in our circle of influence have not given their hearts to the Lord because they have not seen a difference. After all, they are the ones that are telling you what to do. That is shameful! Let me show you one of the reasons God said of King David, “He is a man after my own heart” (see Acts 13:22). Psalms 139:21-22 says, ‘21 Do not I hate them, O Lord, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? 22 I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.’ If you want to stir David to fight you just rise against the God of Israel. That is how much passion the guy has for his God. It was a personal God. It was a dear relationship he has with the Lord.
You must cut off every evil communication. It is a taunt on the Lord. See what II Corinthians 6:14-18, ‘14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.’ Selah!
REMEMBER: You must cut every friendship with unbelievers.
PRAYER: Precious Father, thank you for enlightening me today, I receive the grace to cut off everyone that qualify to be cut off in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!
PROPHETIC RELEASE: You shall not lose your salvation to evil association. Receive grace to cut off that unbeliever friendship in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.
Acts 24:16 (KJV)
They say, “all work and no play makes Jake a dull boy”. As you feed yourself with the Word, you have to also exercise your spirit to gain spiritual muscle. Just eating does not develop fitness, it may give you a strong immune system but not fitness. Fitness in sports is a function of exercise. As you begin to lift weights, your muscles begin to develop and balance for greater weights. That is exactly how it is in the spiritual realm. Eating ensures your wellness while exercise ensures your fitness. I am going to discuss ways that we can exercise our spirit-man. It is crucial that you take responsibility to keep your spirit-man fit because we are in war. Life is a war ground. Most times, the battle doesn’t give notice to arrive at your doorstep. Proverbs 24:10 says, “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.” Spiritual exercise is for strength development against the day of adversity. David was developing spiritual muscle in the field while he was tending to his father’s flocks. He never foresaw Goliath. So upon arriving on the battle scene and seeing Goliath, the giant in him just arose to confront. That is how it walks. As you exercise yourself, you develop to the extent that at your presence cancer dissolve, Satanic altars begin to catch fire, just at your presence. You develop yourself so much that nothing can break your body, you can never practically be sick. It is a function of rigorous spiritual exercise.
The first spiritual exercise I would discuss is prayer and fasting. Prayer and fasting is spiritual exercise that develops at lot of things in your spiritual life. One, it enhances your faith especially praying in tongues (see Jude 1:20). Praying in the Spirit builds you as an edifice, strong, tall and formidable (see I Corinthians 14:4). One of the best spiritual exercises is praying in tongues. It imparts boldness and courage to dare anything. Praying in tongues cuts off satanic interference in prayer because it is talking to God on a direct line that only God understands (see 1 Corinthians 14:2). Praying in the Spirit sharpens your spiritual sensitivity which helps you get on key with divine direction and guidance. Fasting is one of the best ways to deal with the flesh. Fasting is one way to mortify the flesh. God cannot do serious thing with someone that does not have a regular fasting schedules. Check history, you will never find one person that has impacted his generation that is not given to regular fasting schedules.
For space, let us see the last one I will be discussing today. We exercise our spirit by doing the Word. That is exactly what our opening text is talking about. It takes exercise to actually translate the Logos to attitudes. As you study the Word, look for action points. What can I practice today out of what I have seen in the Word today? A very hot tempered man was cured by Ecclesiastes 7:9, “Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.” Whenever he is tempted to rage, he will remind himself that anger rests in the bosom of fools and he would say out loud, “I am not a fool, I am wiser than that”. That is how to exercise yourself in the Word. To take action based on the knowledge of the Word. Always look out for action points when listening to message, reading the Bible or inspirational materials like this devotional. As you identify actions steps, go ahead to implement them and see how glory will start oozing forth from your life. It is so sweet!
REMEMBER: You exercise your spirit by fasting and prayer, and doing the Word.
CONFESSION: I am helped by the Holy Spirit to pray aright as I pray in the tongues of the Spirit. I am empowered to wait on the Lord which renews my strength and strengthens me to do the Word. Glory be God!
