TO ENCOUNTER THE WORD (5): ENGAGE THE HOLY SPIRIT
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself? but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
John 16:13 (KJV)
The Bible is not a newspaper or magazine. II Peter 1:21 says, ‘For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.’ The Bible is the product of the Holy Ghost. The Bible is the collection of the inspiration of the Holy Ghost. This is why it is expedient to engage the author of the Bible in trying to understand and apply what He inspired. It is the moving of the Holy Spirit on the lives of holy men of Yahweh that resulted in the Bible. That is to say that there is no other person that knows the Bible like the author, the blessed Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our teacher and guide into the deep things of the Father. He guides us into all truth. The Word of Yahweh is the truth and it takes the Holy Spirit to come into this truth. With the Holy Spirit, the Bible is new everyday because He keeps expounding the truth and bringing out new things from same chapter and verse that you have been reading everyday.
Did you notice the word “guide” in our opening text? The word translated guide is the Greek word “hodegeo” meaning to show the way; that is to teach. It also means to lead as in a blind person to the right path. The Bible is like our promised land. You just entered into the promised land at new birth. You need a guide to show you around. The Holy Spirit is that guide that shows you around the Bible because you are blind without Him. There is a voice behind every verse of scripture but you can never hear it on your own because that voice is the voice of the Holy Spirit. It takes the Holy Spirit teaching you for you to hear that voice that will show you what to do and how the verse you are reading relate to and apply to you.
John 14:26 expressly says, ‘But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.’ The Holy Spirit teaches you all things and also brings all things to your remembrance. You cannot do without the person of the Holy Spirit in your quest to know the Word of Yahweh. He is the author and the teacher. The Holy Spirit can teach you how to do your business from the Word. He can teach you how to climb to the top of your career from the pages of scriptures and as you apply the wisdom he imparts, people begin to wonder at you. It would look like you are a super intelligent person but you are only a good student of the Holy Spirit. You engage the Holy Spirit by speaking in tongues and by asking Him in prayer to come and teach you the Word. Shalom!
REMEMBER: You engage the Holy Spirit by asking Him to teach you the Word and by speaking in the tongues of the Spirit.
CONFESSION: I am not a super intelligent person. I am only a good student of the Blessed Holy Spirit. Everything I know now is a function of His tutelage. I shall continue to engage Him. Glory be Yahweh!
PROPHETIC RELEASE: By the teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit, from now the top is your portion in life in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!
