TRAINING YOUR HUMAN SPIRIT (2): PRACTICE THE WORD

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
    James 1:22 (KJV)

The essence of reading, studying and meditating on the Word is to do it. It would be an exercise in futility to read, study and meditate on the Word and refuse to do the Word. Even though it has been proved that you cannot be diligent in reading, studying and meditating on the Word without being a doer of the Word because the Word has inherent in it the power to compel obedience. That is why the greatest battle is to read, study and meditate on the Word because the devil knows that if you can diligently get the Word into your spirit, it will compel obedience. You must make up your mind that the Word is your life. Your life and the Word must come into an irrevocable covenant that nothing can ever divorce you both. Your aim must be to come to the measure of the stature of the fullness of the Word of Yahweh (see Ephesians 4:13). Let me show you the process the Word of Yahweh follows to produce in you what it talks about. The Word when received and believed in the good soil of your heart, produces a reaction that is called faith. This spiritual reaction literally moves you to do what the Word talks about which commits Yahweh’s integrity to perform what He has spoken.

Isaiah 6:10 says, ‘Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.’ If you can hear with your ears the Word of Yahweh and can see it that is imagine, mutter and meditate until light breaks out on you. This light is the understanding of the heart and will compel and move you to do that Word which will inevitably result in your testimony and change of story. So, for the Word to fail to be practised means that you have not heard it enough and have not seen it, that is the light of the Word has not broken on you, producing lack of understanding of the Word in your heart, all resulting in you not being able to do the Word of Yahweh. If you see the truth of this process, you will never again fail to give all the diligence required to hear, see and understand the Word of Yahweh.

Matthew 13:23 shows us the place of understanding in doing the Word and the results. “But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” The difference in their output is understanding. The same Word, the same good ground of the heart but understanding made the outcome to vary. Understanding here talks about the level of insight each one had in the Word received. Beloved, you will not have any challenge doing the Word, only if you can see it. May the eyes of your spirit/heart be flooded with rays from heaven (be enlightened) that you may know what is the hope of your calling! (see Eph.1:17-19).

REMEMBER: When you practice the Word, you are training your spirit to recognize divine direction.

CONFESSION: The eyes of my heart is flood with rays from heaven producing in me exactly what the Word talks about. Halleluyah!

PROPHETIC RELEASE: I command the eyes of your heart to be enlightened now in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!

QUALIFICATION TO BE LED (5): BE QUIET

And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
    I Kings 19:12 (KJV)

In our quest to access divine direction, we must maintain quietness in our spirit and in our environment. This is the reason Yahweh calls people up a physical mountain to meet them. It is to come out of the distractions of their environment and family. It takes a great level of quietness and serenity to hear Yahweh’s voice of direction. Yahweh’s voice of direction is often a still small voice that sounds in your spirit and you are likely to miss it if you are rowdy in your spirit and if your environment is not serene. If divine direction is your quest, then you must seek to maintain a quiet spirit and environment. You can engage in activities that can quiet your spirit and bring it to the state of tranquillity. In Isaiah 14:7, the Word says, ‘The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.’ Singing spiritual songs quiets your spirit. If you are agitated, then separate yourself and begin to sing to the Lord. Spiritual songs relaxes your spirit and even your soul and body, bringing you to a complete state of quietness.

Isaiah 30:29 says, ‘Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the Lord, to the mighty One of Israel.’ You see you need gladness of heart to come into the mountain of the Lord and at that mountain you can be quiet to receive the still small voice. All these are interrelated. Isaiah 30:30 says, ‘And the Lord shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.’ Quietness of the spirit is also a strengthener. You need strength in the spirit to wait to hear the still small voice. Isaiah 30:15 says, ‘For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.’ Quietness in the spirit strengthens you.

In I Thessalonians 4:11, Apostle Paul admonishes us to study to be quiet. So you can study to be quiet. That talks about practising to be quiet. Most times, it may just involve speaking in the tongues of the spirit just to quiet your spirit. Study to be quiet and to maintain quietness. It is an asset in the school of divine direction. I Peter 3:4 says that a meek and quiet spirit is of a great price before our Yahweh. He values a meek and quiet spirit because it is the atmosphere where He can easily pass instructions and information. I admonish you today to invest into acquiring and maintaining a quiet spirit. Selah!

REMEMBER: A quiet spirit is the atmosphere that can hear the still small voice of the Holy Spirit.

PRAYER: Dear Father, thank You for Your Word to me today. I ask for the grace to do the things that ensures a quiet spirit and environment around me always in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!

PROPHETIC RELEASE: I decree peace within and around you today in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!

  • HOW TO ENCOUNTER THE WORD (3): THE MYSTERY OF A QUIET TIME

HOW TO ENCOUNTER THE WORD (3): THE MYSTERY OF A QUIET TIME

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
    II Corinthians 13:14 (KJV)

Whenever I think of the term “Quiet Time” the Greek word “koinonia” comes to mind. Koinonia is the Greek word translated communion in our opening text. Literally koinonia means participation. Personally or socially, koinonia means intercourse, that is the highest level of communication between two people. Quiet Time is a time of communion or intercourse with the Holy Spirit, the Word and the Father all in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach. Your calling in HaMashiach, beloved, is a calling into the koinonia of the God-kind. I Corinthians 1:9 says, ‘God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.’ The quiet-time is a specific time in which we seek the face of the Lord, to know his friendship personally and to worship and understand him better. Just like the term implies, Quiet-time is a time and place of quietness, where you can maintain some level of tranquillity to concentrate on the Presence of the Lord and on the communion of this God-kind. Quiet time, also called heart-to-heart time, or one-on-one time with the Father, is a regular individual session of Christian spiritual activities, such as prayer, private meditation, contemplation, worship, or study of the Bible. Quiet-time is the time of you coming to yourself both spirit, soul and body and consciously reaching out for the Person, Presence and Word of the Lord. That is the mystery of recovery of destiny as it happened to the man we have come to know as the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32. Luke 15:17 says, “And when he came to himself, he said,” that is his destiny could not be recovered until he sat down in probably a quiet-time session.

There is nothing you cannot find solution to in a quiet-time with the Lord. The most precious moment of the day is that time you sit before the Lord in absolute quietness to read, study, meditate, worship or just maintaining some quietness. It deepens your relationship with the Lord like nothing else can. Maintaining this time daily will bring a revolution to your relationship with the Lord. Quiet-time is a great way to encounter the Word and have the Word make lasting impressions in your spirit-man.

Just like all the other ways to encounter the Word, Quiet-time must be a deliberate exercise. It is a time you must schedule and keep with the Lord. King David scheduled his own quiet-time at the middle of the night. Psalms 119:62 says, ‘At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments.’ Do you wonder how King David managed to emerge a king, a priest, a prophet, a psalmist, a singer, a songwriter, an instrumentalist, an inventor of musical instruments, etc.? He was a product of a solid quiet-time with the Lord. Schedule your quiet-time right away and make a covenant with the Lord to keep it. Shalom!

REMEMBER: Quiet-time is a specific time of quietness for personal intercourse with the Lord.

CONFESSION: I love you Lord and I cherish our time together. There is nothing that can substitute my time with you as you teach me Your Word and lead me in the path I should go. Thank You Lord!

PROPHETIC RELEASE: As the deer pants for the water brooks, I decree your heart start panting for the Word and the presence of the Lord in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!

  • HOW TO ENCOUNTER THE WORD (1): READING AND LISTENING TO THE WORD

    #WordForTodayDevotional

HOW TO ENCOUNTER THE WORD (1): READING AND LISTENING TO THE WORD

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
    II Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

Beginning from today, we are going to examine how we can encounter the Word. With all we have seen the Word can do for us, unless we connect with the Word, we cannot enjoy the benefits. So how can we experience the Word and have the Word impart and metamorphose us? As we begin to unfold how we can do this, believe Yahweh to be a doer and not a hearer only. Decide to do and plan to do. Set Word objectives of what you must be covering in the light of what we are going to be showing you in a couple of days to come. It is He that does the Word that is blessed in his life (see James 1:22-25). The first way we encounter the Word is to hear it. Romans 10:17 says, ‘So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.’ Hearing the Word is by reading and listening. When you read, you are engaging your eyes and ears at the same time. This is important because what you see, makes impressions on your mind. The ear and the eyes are major channels into your mind and consequently your spirit-man. Consider this instruction from the Lord through Moses in Deuteronomy 11:19, ‘And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.’ This is saying let the ear channel of your children be saturated with the Word practically all the time.

What reading does for you is that it floods your eyes and ears with the Word. What your eyes sees and your ears hears is what remains on your mind and that can be effortless. The work you need to do is to expose something to your eyes and ears, the other reaction of it remaining on your mind is almost involuntary. Even when you don’t plan to think about it, the mind just goes there because it is what it sees and hears that it cogitates upon. Without reading and listening to the Word being read out like audio Bible as we have them in this age, you are cutting off yourself from having the Word make impression of the Spirit on your spirit-man. There is Igbo adage that says “an ocean does not drown a person that it did not see his/her legs”. The Word is powerless in your life unless it comes into contact with your mind and spirit-man and that for a long while.

Beloved, Satan knows this fact, therefore, he makes sure that you don’t make out time to read and listen to the Word. Now, you have to seat down and make a Word reading schedule. If you don’t do it, then it would not be done. You must set your Word reading goals for each day and then you can measure your progress. Why is setting Word targets important? Just the way you cannot measure performance against nothing. There must be a budgeting before you can measure performance or the actual against the budgeted. Same applies in your Word life. If you don’t have a target of what you must cover each day, you are not going to have anything to measure your performance against. Selah!

REMEMBER: Set daily Word reading targets and ensure you are not failing.

CONFESSION: The Word is the food of my spirit and on daily basis, I feed my spirit-man so fat deliberately. I do not take chances on taking care of my spirit-man. I am intentional about my spiritual health. Thank You Lord!

PROPHETIC RELEASE: Every carelessness about your spiritual health is over from today in the name of Yahushua HaMashiach Amen!

  • SEEDTIME AND HARVEST

    SEEDTIME AND HARVEST

While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.Genesis 8:22 (KJV)

Seedtime is in today’s tech language input and harvest is output. Unlike the computer what you gabbage in is not what you gabbage out, but what you gabbage out is much more than you gabbage in because Luke 6:38 says, ‘Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.’ So, it is pressed down, shaken together and running over that you gabbage out. Giving is like gabbaging in and harvest is like gabbaging out. “God is not mocked”, says Galatians 6:7, “For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” The covenant of prosperity hinges on the mystery of seedtime and harvest. It is this law that brings you into an encounter with the “Power to get wealth” (Deut. 8:18). Seedtime precedes harvest. It is not harvest that determines the seed, but the seed determines the harvest. First He gives seed to the sower and then bread to the eater. It’s not bread to the eater, from which he will take the seed. No! It is the seed that generates the bread (see Isaiah 55:10). Until this is understood, you will remain at the same level.

2 Corinthians 9:10 says, ‘Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness’. Did you see that? He ministers seed to the sower, so that food can come forth, and seed multiply! Seed to the sower first, and then bread will come out of it; and inside that bread, is multiplied seed. Ask any farmer, and he will tell you that their seedtime is prepared for from the current harvest. He looks at his yams, and picks out the fattest of them all, and keeps it away in the barn for the next planting season. The small boys who lack understanding of the farming laws want those fat ones home, as they’re the pride of the harvest season. But the father knows better; he says to himself, “For me to get this size of harvest next year, I must put this size of yam aside for replanting.” Wise farming demands that you prepare yourself for the next harvest season. Proverbs 3:9-10 says, ‘Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.’

2 Corinthians 9:8 says, ‘And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work’. That’s talking about riches. What do you do with your riches? 1 Timothy 6:17 echoes, ‘Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy’. Paul is here talking about sowing financial seed, to create room for our financial harvest. Seedtime and harvest shall not cease. God is committed to increase only where seed is found. The scriptures cannot be broken. When you attempt to break the unbreakable, you are broken! Selah!

REMEMBER: The law of seedtime and harvest is irrevocable as long as the sun endures.

PRAYER: Father, thank you for instituting the law of seedtime and harvest. As I sow my financial seeds into the ground of the gospel, I receive good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

PROPHETIC RELEASE: Every hanging inheritance of yours is forced down on you now. Every contention in the realm of the spirit over your prosperity is blasted by fire in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!

  • THE PLACE OF FAITH IN KINGDOM PROSPERITY

    #WordForTodayDevotional

    Saturday August 22, 2020

THE PLACE OF FAITH IN KINGDOM PROSPERITY

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
    Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)

Your blessing is packaged in God’s Word but can only be delivered by faith.  Hebrews 4:2 makes us understand that you can have the word preached unto you but until you mix it with faith in your heart, the word will not produce.  Romans 10:17 says, ‘So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.’  Faith for prosperity comes by hearing the Word on prosperity. That is the reason the enemy keeps attacking the teachings on prosperity, because he knows that until you hear it, and hear it, faith will not come.  Faith is not, “I agree.” That’s consent.  Faith is not mental assent.  Faith is that active living force that controls your attitude and your actions as you allow the Word you have encountered to direct and control you.  When faith comes, you graduate from hearing to doing.  It moves you to do what you heard.  It is your actions that tell whether you believe what God has said or not.  God weighs your actions, to prove your faith. Your action either betrays or authenticates your claim of faith (see 1 Samuel 2:3).

You have heard, “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it” (see Malachi 3:10-11), and all you do is to only thank God for the message, but don’t pay your tithe, or you give offerings grumbling (from left over balance from Coca Cola)! You certainly don’t know the meaning of what you have heard.  You hear the Word that says, “Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase.” (see Proverbs 3:9-10)  You agree, but do nothing about it. That’s not faith. Show me your faith without your works and I will show you my faith by my works! (see James 2:14-26)  Your actions betray you. It’s your actions that tell whether you believe what God has said or not.

You can’t talk want and enjoy divine supplies, because Mark 11:24 says, “You shall have whatsoever you say.” Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4:13: We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; So what you have believed, you naturally speak.  Faith is expressed in words. Not just by the words you speak to other people, but even the ones you speak to yourself. The words you speak either count for you or against you. Everything in life answers to what you say. In the school of faith, your tongue draws the conclusion. But your tongue answers to the contents of your heart, because it’s out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks. That’s why God is stuffing your heart with matters, so that your tongue will never run dry of the truth that refreshes and prospers. One of the laws of the spirit of life is the law of right speaking. And that functions according to the contents of your heart. Every seed sower is a prosperous citizen of the kingdom, if only his mouth allows him to get it.  Let faith be in your mouth, then you shall make your way prosperous, and you shall have good success.

REMEMBER:  Believing and behaving the Word is what activates the covenant on your life.

CONFESSION:   I believe the provisions of the Word for my prosperity and I take required actions according to the Word to realise it in my life.  Glory to Your Holy Name!

PROPHETIC RELEASE:  As you take steps in obedience to the Word, I decree that every resistance to your prosperity is blasted by fire now in the name of Christ Jesus Amen!
